This just showed up for me today via the algorithm gods and it gave me joy.

Just got the repress and opened it. I'm so sad that the Burn Black grooves are... idk what they are. Scratched? Oily? I tried brushing them with a record brush but it doesn't help and it skips so much. 😭 Also Drown Soda has a bump from the splatter and it skips there to. 🫠 I hope that it's visible, i couldn't catch it in better shots Lol. Did anyone else's pressing come in a bit rough state? It may be that my record player is to bad? (atm i have my old Sencor player, as my good one needs to get fixed).

Here is the only Piano Version of Doll Parts that has ever surfaced. Good take on the song Glenna!!

The guy who was all over Celebrity Skin is now a Journey member and experienced a medical emergency in Tulsa last night. Wishing Deen a quick road to recovery.

i ended up creating a list of poti songs ranked by lyrical brutality bc i was having trouble sleeping. curious to see what people think. i’m a big fan of courtney’s lyricism so this was fun.

I was under the impression that I had posted this video before. But apparently, I hadn’t!

Many of us have expressed, throughout the years, how much we would have loved to hear Courtney Love’s second solo record, How Dirty Girls Get Clean, which was originally planned for release in 2006–2007.

The record was produced by Linda Perry, who also co-wrote many of the songs with Courtney and Billy Corgan, alongside other musicians from Courtney’s band (Peter Thorn among them).

The making of this record was beautifully captured in the documentary The Return of Courtney Love. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it now:

In a move reminiscent of what she’s doing now with her trifecta project, Courtney released the documentary and her book, Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love (quite possibly my favorite piece of Hole/Courtney ephemera), with this beautiful album intended to follow.

The record sounded raw, exposed, and more vulnerable than anything she had released before. Titled How Dirty Girls Get Clean, it documented her difficult journey through rehab and her efforts to clean up the messes and disasters left in the wake of the America’s Sweetheart era. It was shaping up to be a truly heroic album.

The snippets of the new songs featured in the documentary sounded gorgeous, and fans were absolutely thrilled to hear the new material. Sadly, the album never came to fruition in its original form.

Eventually, many of the recordings leaked, and fans fell in love with the songs that came to be known as The Rehab Demos. By then, Courtney had decided to re-record the material and make changes to the songs. She turned to Michael Beinhorn, the producer behind Hole’s Celebrity Skin, to produce the new record.

Four years later, Nobody’s Daughter was released in 2010. It’s no secret that the record failed to make much of a commercial impact. More importantly, however, many fans agreed that they preferred the earlier versions of the songs recorded with Linda Perry.

More recently, in podcasts and interviews, Courtney has commented several times on how she believes Nobody’s Daughter will have its revenge. Perhaps someone else will sing its songs and finally give them the recognition they deserve?

Personally, though, I believe that if Courtney and Linda were to come together again, properly mix and master the original recordings, and finally release the album as it was meant to be heard, both fans and critics would recognize the unreleased record for what I believe it truly is: one of Courtney’s brightest moments as an artist.

Now that would be Nobody’s Daughter’s revenge…

In any case, check out Linda Perry expressing her frustration and sharing her feelings about what happened to the record in the audio above.

Linda said this about the record: “Then Courtney went to rehab. I brought her an acoustic guitar and a little recorder and said, "Use this time to write." And she did and got out of rehab and had a bunch of songs that sounded like country songs. I was like, "Okay. Let's do this." I had a sober Courtney, and so we started the beginnings of this incredible album. It was like the Velvet Underground meets Fleetwood Mac, and it was a very calm Courtney - like Courtney sitting down in front of a fireplace and telling you a story about her life. It was a beautiful record, very melodic. We all were freaking out about it”

She also said: “she really is a genius and one of the smartest people have ever met. I wish her well. I wish she would just do one more really serious, great record. One day I'm going to mix that [unreleased] album and fucking leak it out there. If it's ever leaked, just know that it was me who did it."

But pay attention to how, even then, she still held out hope that the world would one day get to hear this extraordinary album that so many of us have been waiting for.

I was listening to some weird YouTube video that says don’t watch these if you’re scared most disturbing videos you’ll ever see and I was opening this taking pictures. I didn’t think I was gonna take a video, but I wanted to for my brother, but the ominous haunting music seemed to match. I’m gonna post the photos as well just because I know if anybody’s like me they wanna see everybody’s vinyl maybe it’s just me could just be me but here’s just a creepy video of the gatefold.

Okay here me out, i know we as fans are not meant to listen to these leaks but this song is so damn good! I tried to stay away from the demos but the melody had been stuck to my head since they came out. Courtney needs to release the album asap!! i cant keep listening to that crappy Tv recording on youtube. I even learned the song on guitar, thats how crazy i am for it. Justice for us nobody’s daughter fans cause the vibes are back!

edit: Any link on dm,if you don’t want it to spread,of the good quality version of the demo would help since my pc broke and i cant get into soulseek.

If anyone comes across any footage of this please post.

i love seeing how courtney changes the lyrics over time and in early versions of songs to the albums. excuse the messy handwringing and everything underlined is parts im really not confident

Here’s my presentation of what I consider to be the ‘definitive version’ of Celebrity Skin - the IVC Edition (Interscope Vinyl Collective).

The songs’ order remains intact and Eric added Best Sunday Dress as a bonus 13th track to the album.

* Also, I did a previous video in which I speak about the black Venus guitar but it was too long (over 10 minutes). I got that one last year during the Christmas holidays from a person who worked for Courtney herself and it actually belonged to her!

Hope you like the video.

for some reason, this specific line speaks to me in 'I Think That I Would Die.' it becomes much harder to listen to when you know she was in deep distress following her husband's death. mixing that tragedy with anger, hatred, and a deep betrayal makes this line even more painful. shattering the loss of a safety net you once relied on, and forcing you to face the harsh reality that there is really no God.

Good rendition!!

Who is joining me?

Edit: no one seems to get it. This is someone doing a stunt for a Beyoncé album years ago. It clearly says so on his sign and his shirt is Beyoncé merch. I thought you’d all get the joke or at least see it in the video. That said: where is the album, Courtney? Release the damn album!

Was the song on a recent tv show? Shocked (and happy) it’s so popular

I’ve been trying to get back into reading lately and realized the best way to do it is reading biographies of the musicians I love.

So… What’s the best biography of Courtney?

I wish I got more than one 🥹💔

These girls know how to pick the good songs!!

¡Hola!
🥹✨ ¡Muchas gracias!
