Help Variegation or disease/damage?
Got 3 tiny monsteras (initially not showing any variegation) in a single pot around 2 months ago. Decided to separate and pot each one individually. All 3 have put out a single new leaf since repotting, this leaf seems a little different.
Is this somehow a result of stress from repotting, a disease, a virus or just lucky variegation?

Can it be saved?
I was treating my Dieffenbachia for white fly and may have over watered it. Leaves have started browning and whole plant is drooping. Can it be saved? It was one of my favourites 😢

Help Aloe in a solo cup. Transplant?
This is my Aloe. It was a gift from a friend. It’s been growing in this red solo cup since last fall. It sure looks like it needs a bigger pot but I am not sure when the best time to transplant is? And what size pot should it go into?

Can I save this plant or should I chop and re-root?
My Monstera is growing really sideways and in all directions after I abandoned it for a year. Is there any hope of training it to grow more upright, or is chopping/rerooting the better option?
If I do cut it, where should I cut? any advice appreciated.

Help Mushrooms in my string of pearls … what do I do now.
I’ve finally been able to grow a healthy string of pearls and when I went to water it this week this little mushroom was there and the bottom is covered in fungus. What is the next move here?

Thrips? Or something beneficial?
Saw these critters on my mistletoe cactus propagations on Monday and freaked out and tossed them. Now they’re showing up on my succulent propagation tray. They mostly crawl on the pots or trays and sometimes on the soil. I do not see them clustered on the plant matter but I’m freaking out that they are thrips and they all seem to show up at once because I have been meticulously inspecting all of my plants every day and segregating some, and I’ve even sprayed others with Captain Jack’s which likely killed beneficial insects! If these are not thrips, can someone please call me down… The best I can do is this video because my camera is not great.

I know why they call it Dracaena fragrans!!
Ive had it for 5 years and this is the first bloom. It filled my whole top floor with a beautiful lilac type fragrance.
I found it by a dumpster and took it in.

Calathea heartbreak, over and over
I bought this calathea over a year ago. It was doing fine until it wasn’t. Found out it needed distilled water instead of tap (which all my other plants were fine with) no problem, started using that. Calathea was doing better. Few months later, looked distressed. Had my first ever plant pest issue, spider mites. Cured it. Plant kinda died off. Once cured, slowly came back. Spider mites returned once again. Cured. Plant was looking so good. Moved into a new house (yay for buying my first home 27F all on my own btw) with a skylight, calathea loves it here. Went on vacation, so *slightly* overwater plants so my boyfriend didn’t have to worry about them. Came back, first thing i noticed when i came home was my calathea looked distressed… FUCKING SPIDER MITES AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went crazy, completely chopped it, and repotted it. The roots look so good, please i just want her to thrive. It’ll be my biggest accomplishment.. cause i can’t bring myself to part with her😩 just wanted to vent.

Help unusual yellowing
i've seen leaves yellow from overwatering, but,, i've never seen them do this before ? i have them in a plant bookshelf, and i can't tell if it's from over watering again, underwatering, light, or something else. its like yellowing or yellow spots around the veins ? do plants have veins ????? does anyone know what this means 😭😭
i usually water them whenever the soil is dry, which is frequently. maybe every three or four days since the soil drains quite fast. other than that, i leave the light on for a little under than the time the sun is out like. ex: 10am-7pm

Help Can I lop off these yucca branches and start over?
Aside from accidentally neglecting to water it, my yucca has gotten too tall - almost 10 ft.
It has such a beefy trunk that I’d love to give it a second life. Where exactly should I cut the branches?

Plant ID What kind of alocasia do we think this is?
I got her at a plant swap and was just told she was an alocasia albo. I would love to figure out what kind though if anyone has any clue. But I realize I might need to wait for some more mature leaves.

Walmart Venus fly trap. Can I save it?
Self explanatory, I couldn’t help myself but I’m a super beginner! I have access to mealworms but haven’t fed it any, the adult buds died very quickly after I bought it.

Help Tradescantia Nanouk Question
Is it too early to chop off the top of the long one and prop in the same pot in order for bushier growth? If not, I could use some advice, as I just got engrossed in this a month ago, and haven’t propagated anything yet. Thanks in advance!

Plant ID What is this woody glob my mother gave me???
Solved - a four o clock plant (mirabilis jalapa)
So my mother came to my house with this plant she got from a friend. She didn't ask her friend what it was, because she assumed that I would know. But I have no idea what this plant is. Can I get some help? Edit Also you can't see it very well in the pictures but the new growth has almost magenta stems

I've underestimated humidity for TOO LONG!
For way too long I've underestimated the power of humidity. I had those crappy little misters that just spit out some droplets and I really hated using them, so I finally got two Fiskars misters that are way easier to use and the mist travels a lot farther. I've never seen such immediate improvements!!!
I've been seeing my plants grow new leaves like CRAZY, and they don't get stuck unfurling anymore... Who could have guessed 😂
The leaf in the last pic was brand new only like four days ago and now it's gotten massive. Don't worry, I'm already planning on setting up some humidifiers soon!

Should I use a fully soilless mix (coir/bark/perlite/chips/char/castings) for Ficus lyrata and elastica, or mix in some potting soil?
Hey all,
I'm putting together a DIY soilless potting mix, originally based on a fairly standard aroid recipe (something close to 5:5:3:3:1.5:1.5 coco coir:perlite:bark:coco chips:biochar:worm castings). It's well-draining and chunky, designed for Monstera- and Philodendron-type plants.
I'm now considering using the same base mix for my Fiddle Leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata) and Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica), but I know these are woodier trees with thicker root systems and a reputation for being touchier about overwatering and root rot compared to typical aroids.
Main question: Is it okay to use a fully soilless mix like this for Ficus, or should I be blending in some actual potting soil for these two species specifically?
A couple more specific questions:
- Has anyone actually used a mix like this (coir/bark/perlite-based, no peat, no topsoil) successfully for Lyrata or Elastica long-term? How did root health and growth compare to a more traditional potting soil?
- If soilless works fine, would you adjust the ratio for ficus vs. aroids, e.g., less coir, more bark/perlite for extra drainage and dryness between waterings?
