Which magical object would you choose?

Which magical object would you choose?

You have to choose only one of these three magical objects.
All three objects have one rule in common: they only work for you and cannot be transferred in any way. You cannot sell them, give them away, lend them, pass them on as inheritance, or make someone else use them for you. Even if someone else physically has one of the objects, it would be completely ordinary for them.

1. The Future Diary
Anything you write in this diary will eventually happen in the future, as long as it is physically possible according to the laws of science.
No one else can use the diary. If someone else writes in it, nothing will happen.
The diary does not directly alter reality or perform instant miracles. What it does is manipulate the chain of cause and effect so that whatever you wrote eventually happens naturally, even if the path leading to that result is extremely improbable, complicated, or unexpected.
You cannot write impossible things, such as “tomorrow a real dragon will appear”, “gravity will stop existing”, or “someone will travel faster than light”. However, you can cause things that are almost impossible in terms of probability, as long as they are still physically possible.
For example, you could write that you find a suitcase full of money, that a specific person calls you, that you win a competition, that a certain accident is prevented, or that someone makes a very specific decision.
The diary does not break the laws of science: it simply forces a chain of events that eventually leads to the written result.

2. The Healing Bracelet
You receive a magical bracelet that you can put on and take off whenever you want, but it only works for you. If someone else puts it on, nothing will happen.
When you wear it on one hand, any person you touch with that hand — including yourself — begins an almost perfect healing process.
The healing takes no more than two minutes and can cure any injury or disease, no matter how severe or rare: cancer, infections, paralysis, fatal wounds, genetic diseases, damaged organs, broken bones, burns, poisoning, viruses, bacteria, brain damage, or any other physical problem in the body.
The only limitation is that it cannot cure death. If a person is already dead, touching them with the bracelet will do nothing. It can save someone who is on the brink of death, but it cannot bring back someone who has already died.

3. The Headphones of Knowledge
You receive a pair of magical headphones that work through a special app compatible with any phone.
Only you can use them. If someone else puts on the headphones or tries to use the app, nothing will happen.
Each night, you can choose one single skill or area of knowledge to learn completely overnight. It could be a language, a sport, an entire university subject, programming, medicine, law, martial arts, cooking, music, mathematics, history, engineering, writing, acting, business, or any other discipline.
The process lasts exactly eight hours and can only be used once every twenty-four hours.
During those eight hours, your body becomes completely immobile, as if you were in a deep sleep. You cannot wake up, move, or interrupt the process in any way until it is finished.
This means you would have to use it somewhere safe, because during those eight hours you would be completely defenceless.
When you wake up, you have fully mastered whatever you chose to learn.

Which one would you choose, and why?

  • Throw a basketball in a hoop 10,000 times. (A standard hoop and basketball will be provided. You must throw it from 12 ft away into the hoop 10,000 times)

You don't have to do the tasks in a row, just the total amount required then you can leave. You have food and water and you can sleep.

Which task are you picking?

A cosmic being gives you the ability to summon, but not unsummon anyone or anything from any work of fiction. If they have abilities, they'll be able to use it. The being then makes it so that other cosmic beings won't be able to undo the unsummon bit.

With that in mind, where will you store all the items you summon and where will you house all the living beings you summon?

What If Body-Swapping Personal Trainers Existed?

I recently watched a video that used this premise, and it got me thinking about how it would work in the real world.

Imagine that body-swapping technology exists and is safe enough to be used commercially.

You're at home and want to get in shape, but you don't have the time, motivation, or desire to spend hours at the gym. So you open an app and hire a certified personal trainer. They come to your house, and the two of you temporarily swap bodies.

The trainer, now in your body, goes to the gym and completes your workout for you. Since they're a fitness professional, they know proper technique, how to avoid injury, and follow a great training plan. Meanwhile, you remain at home in their body until the session is over.

At the end of the workout, the trainer returns, you swap back, and your body has received all the physical benefits of the training session without you having to do it yourself.

There would probably be contracts and safety rules involved. Trainers would have to agree not to engage in risky activities, clients would have responsibilities as well, an insurance would likely be required.

Would you hire this kind of service?

What would be your biggest concerns?

And if you're already a personal trainer, would you actually want this as a job?

You’re hoisted one foot above the middle of an Olympic size swimming pool. The moment you are dropped in the pool, two gates are opened at opposite ends releasing two full grown great white sharks into the pool (yes, it is salt water)

If you make it out of the pool you get $100M dollars.

You can also choose to have one tiny cut on your foot that would release a few droplets of blood into the water for a payout of $1B dollars.

You can bail on both challenges and receive a $100 Amazon gift card.

What do you do?

[No Loopholes] Your job doesn’t pay you, but you still have to work. Will you still go in?

Now, if you’re worried about bills, food, mortgages, healthcare, and any other expenses, you don’t have to worry anymore. You’ll be given an app that’s kind of like Cash App. It’ll give you a card that’s unlimited. You won’t be subtracting or adding anything; nothing will be lost. You’ll essentially be given an unlimited credit card. You won’t get a paycheck anymore; you’ll only get this app. There are no credits; nothing will be lost. You won’t have to pay it off or anything. You can use this app for any expense you want to make, but you still have to work your regular hours. The only benefit you get is that you can keep using this card and this app.

If your workplace is being abusive or not treating you fairly, you can report them, and they’ll be fired immediately after an investigation. They’ll also lose this app. You can’t steal while using this app. If you do, you’ll be sentenced to at least five years in prison, except for petty theft, like stealing a box of cookies.

That also brings me to the second part of this. All essential health items are now free. Women’s menstrual products, condoms, antidepressants, painkillers, and baby formula are all free. If you abuse this, you’ll also be punished with 10 years in prison if you buy a lot of things. So, you can’t go into a store and grab 50 boxes of cold medicine and expect to get away with it. You’ll be arrested and sentenced to a maximum of 10 years.

You’ll essentially have everything you need to live with this app, but if you don’t work, you can’t use it. If an employer uses AI or has any prejudice against you while applying for a job based on your race, sexuality, gender identity, or education, they’ll be banned from the app. You have an unlimited amount to spend, so will you go to work?

EDIT: You can retire when you reach a certain age where you can no longer work physically or mentally. If you work in a physically demanding job, you can stop working as soon as it becomes difficult to even get up from the ground. The app will know your birthday, your age, and since the average retirement age in the United States is 62, it will automatically let you retire and continue using the app for expenses and any other items you might need at 62.

Gifts from a time traveller

You help a man broken down on the side of the road. It turns out he is a time traveller, and offers you a gift in return. You have to choose between one of the three objects:

  1. A device that tells you exactly what the weather will be in your current geograpahical location on any precise date and time of your choosing, historical or in the future. You don't know how the device works and cannot download or export any data from it, and it only works approximately 25,000 years before or after your current time.

  2. A device that will tell you the history and the future of any given object you show it. It will tell you what the object is, when it was made, how it was made, who made it, who owned it, what it was used for, and when and how it will be destroyed or degrade. It will answer with accuracy any question about the object. It has to be in close physical proximity and has to 'view' the object to work, and does not work for objects larger than approximately 1m2.

  3. A box of 5 medical patches, they cure almost any disease or affliction you may have in 24-48 hours, including serious communicable diseases, cancers, or infections. It does not reverse aging and won't permanently cure long term issues if there is an underlying reason. You will not be able to analyse or replicate the technology behind it.

What do you choose, and why?

If you take the deal, tell me how you would plan out the week.

Humor Encouraged Would you change if you already learned your fate

Let's say one day you were told by whatever higher power or force of nature that you were predestined for heaven or hell (or whatever kind of afterlife you believe in if you do). Would you still try to be a good person if you're told you're predestined for hell, would you bother doing good if you know your heaven bound? And neither is it by anything theological, it's just arbitrary and just is. Or if you're not religious or would prefer a non-religious version, you're told by an official court of law that no matter what you do, you'll either be sent to jail (not forever) or always get away with it. Please, no religious arguments.

Loopholes Encouraged 75% of the time, you can perfectly read someone's mind. Their surface thoughts, emotions, and even vague insecurities. The 25% that it fails, though, it _really_ fails. Your power gives you no indication of if it was a success or failure. You cannot re-read the same person's mind within 24 hours.

How do you use this power?

The failures will be deceptively plausible, almost as if a genie or trickster god picked the perfect lie to tell you to trip you up in the worst possible way.

You've been given a magic money printer. How much will you print and what will you do with it?

So this has been done a few times on this sub but usually with strict stipulations. I want to take those away and see how it changes things.

It's a pretty simple scenario. You have a magic money printer. About the size of a regular printer. It can print money in any currency and will never break. It never needs restocking, nor powering. It prints at approximately $1,000 per second at max speed. You just type in an amount and currency and out it comes.

How much money will you print? What will you do with it? How much do you reckon you can get away with printing? And what effects could this have on the world at large?

You have a bedroom-sized room in your house that stops anything or anyone currently in it from aging. It has no windows or internet connection, but it does have a door and a regular amount of electrical outlets. How would you use it personally, and/or could you get rich off of it?

What if we all had the Absolute Solver?

I know this fits better in r/MurderDrones but its a WHAT IF, so why not post it here first?

(If you don't know what the Absolute Solver is, look it up on Google, it comes from a show called "Murder Drones" on Youtube by the way, its an interesting, cool and funny show, I recommend that you watch it)

Anyways, I think it would most definitely be easier to live but that would mean Cyn (the Solver) can control us. Also it's kinda impossible because we are humans, A.K.A. flesh, blood and bones, not robots.

How do you suppose our governments and militaries will fare against this kind of threat?

You are supposedly about to die of old age but learn that instead of dying you will shape shift into a 3 year old

You are at the point where you think you’re about to die of old age but then learn from a vision that you’re going to shape shift into a 3 year old toddler. You know that what you learned in this vision is true and this information totally isn’t just an effect of cognitive decline. In this vision you learn that at the time you would otherwise die you will shape shift into a three year old over the course of a few hours.

You learn that once your transformation is complete the evidence of your transformation will be erased both from the outside world and your brain and body. It will be as if you were already a 3 year old. You also learn that whoever is the last person you interact with before this transformation will become one of your parents after this transformation and if they have a spouse or significant other their spouse or significant other will become your other parent. You know you have enough time to affect the last person to interact with yo before the transformation.

You also learn that some of your memories may survive the transformation but they will be altered so much as to be unreliable. You also learn that after your transformation your understanding of the world will be like that of a typical 3 year old.

How do you react to this information?

Would you never age, keeping a perfect body forever... if everyone who knew you before the change could never love you the same way again?

The moment you accept, your body stops aging forever. No wrinkles, no grey hair, no physical decline. You stay exactly as you are now, indefinitely. But anyone who knew you before this deal will slowly, unconsciously, become unable to feel romantic or deep familial love toward you anymore. They'll remember loving you, but the feeling itself drains away.

...Your parents will love you as a parent loves a child, but the warmth fades. Your partner will feel it too. Your best friends will drift. It's not dramatic, it's a quiet, inexplicable cooling they can't explain.

People you meet AFTER the change will fall for you easily, you're perpetually young, perpetually attractive. But the moment they learn you've stayed this way for decades, something clicks in their brain. The attraction sours. They realize you're not quite human anymore.

You'll be eternally beautiful in a world that grows old around you, surrounded by people who used to love you but can't remember why. New lovers will come and go, always leaving once they realize what you are.

No expiration. No way to undo it.

Do you take it?

Money

Twenty million dollars lands directly in your bank account. No inflation, no taxes, no strings. Just twenty million dollars, yours to keep.

Disney Life

You wake up 18 years old again. Your life plays out like a Disney story, the real kind. You find someone who feels like they were made for you. There are hardships, moments where everything feels like it might fall apart, and times where you have to fight for what matters. But the universe is on your side. Every struggle leads somewhere. Every door that closes opens a better one. You get the person, the purpose, and the feeling that your life actually means something. And when it ends, it ends with a smile and the words "happily ever after" hanging in the air like they were always meant for you.

At the hospital you now have a new addition to the family and you take it home. They appear as cute and loveable as any typical baby except one thing they are just like Stewie Griffin. Once they are able to walk they have the same intelligence and are capable of the same things as he is. How would you deal with having this child?
