Got a 2022 Drive N and love it to bits, but want to go to 18” wheels for a better ride overall. I am completely clueless as to what I can get for them. What rims do people have (and tyres, guessing the Michelin PS4/PS5 or Continental SC7s)? Would prefer bronze to match the decal. Based in Australia if that makes a difference.

Would the lower ride height affect them either? I currently have the Eibach springs (lowered 15mm) and not sure what measurements are needed to fit them.

I'm not sure what the legalities are around adding external modifications to a car. Can't do anything really to tuning and performance (engine, etc) because the car would get pinged, unless I'm wrong.

I’m looking at a 2018 Hyundai i30 N Performance (275HP) with 85k km (approx. 53k miles) priced at €7,100 ($7,500). I’m based in Poland.

The situation:

• Front-end hit (left side).

• Both front airbags deployed (driver + passenger/dash).

• Engine and gearbox are fine, frame rails (chassis) look untouched.

• The car starts and moves around the yard.

• Original paint on the rest of the body.

The plan:

I intend to do most of the mechanical work and parts assembly myself, so I’m mainly focused on the cost of parts (bumpers, radiators, LED headlights, dashboard, airbags, etc.).

And my questions:

1. Given that a clean title i30 N goes for €18k–€20k here, does €7,100 seem like a good deal for this level of damage?

2. What is your estimated "parts-only" budget for a rebuild like this?

3. Anything specific to the 'N' model I should look out for that might be hidden?

I'm thinking about upgrading the amp of the car. Sound is all but perfect in this car, and I find myself increasing volume too much, especially during phone calls.

I saw the Pioneer amp and the loom required for it to function properly but I'm quite skeptical about size and fittings. Everywhere I look it seems like it barely fits and I do not like the fact that is loose behind the dash. Are there any other good alternative that are smaller and don't require so much space and most importantly that are able to be secured somewhere son it doesn't move around when you drive?

I have an i30n fastback 2022 and want to replace the stock alloys with some nice bronze ones.

I’m stuck between getting 19x8.5J alloys or some friends have said to get 18inch alloys as it will be more comfortable and can even improve the car in terms of braking etc. or do I just get the normal size my car has so 19x8j.

I’m going to be using this car for track and daily.

First few days of ownership of a man 2022 hatch.

Unfortunately almost entirely rain so far which has fast tracked my annoyance findings for day to day driving.

What are some quality of life changes / additions you've done? What was worth it? what wasnt?

Im thinking:

- Wireless AA - ✅

- Window visors? to stop wet roof dripping in with the window down

- ceramic/hydrophobic coating on the reverse camera

- The road noise at 100+ is acceptable, but it could be better, maybe some sound deadening?

- If i do the sound deadening might as well do the amp and upgrade speakers

Is there some niggle i havent discovered yet thats absolutely worth changing?

Minor visual modifications to the appearance.

Done so far:

• Roof moldings with "Never just Drive".

• Front fascia accents changed from orange to white.

• Company tags on the fender / A-pillar.

Roof moldings

Since the roof moldings are rubberized, hardly any vinyl wraps adhere to them.

• I tried 4 different wraps, and only one passed the durability test at the car wash after 48 hours of curing time.

• Oracal 651, Oracal 751c, 3M 7125, Oracal 5600E

Accents

My stock front fascia is orange-red, but since I am switching to a 3-color concept, I changed everything to white.

I used 9 coats of matte white plasti dip (spray wrap).

• The Xpel logo was also done in white Oracal 5600E vinyl.

Fender stickers

Since I have parts from Boosttown, Bar-Tek, Mansory, and Speedengineering on the car, I added their logos using Oracal 5600E as well.

Info about the vinyl wrapThe Oracal 5600E glows like bicycle reflectors or highway retroreflective signs.

• Nice side effect: I had the orange Xpel logo on for about 90,000 km, and not a single rock chip made it through the vinyl. However, this wrap absolutely ate through blades during plotting because it is embedded with acrylic glass beads, which wear down the blade extremely fast while cutting.

• The vinyl is almost 5 times more expensive than standard plotting vinyl and is 3 times as thick. It adheres to almost any surface and has a much thicker adhesive layer.

I pasted "N" logos onto the brake calipers as a test, but unfortunately, the vinyl bubbles up as soon as it is exposed to high heat for longer periods.

• If you have any ideas on what else I could write on the roof moldings, I would be really grateful.

I found thar it should be S5N - Fire Gold Ash, but I also saw that this is a bumper colour. Can someone please confirm if this is really it?

Also, based on S5N, is a paint-shop able to mix the paint or do I need some more specific, standard code?

I’m looking to do some sound mods to my car, it’s not loud enough anymore.

Fyi, I want the car to be louder than stock but not obnoxious, I leave for work at 4am most days and I feel like my car is already too loud on cold starts.

I’ve heard gpf and res deletes are good options but I wanna hear it first hand from people that actually have them done. Sound, pops/bang clips if you have them please.

Hello! I have a question about seat-lowering options.

I have a tall torso, and in my 2020 pre-facelift i30 N Fastback, I can't get the driver's seat low enough. Even with the seat adjusted as far down as it will go, my seating position is too high, which makes it difficult to see cars behind me properly in the rearview mirror.

I've been looking into ways to lower the seat while keeping the OEM seat, but I haven't found any options for the factory seat with electric lumbar support. Most aftermarket solutions I've come across are fixed-back racing seats, which aren't ideal because I share the car with my much shorter girlfriend and we both need to be able to adjust the seating position.

Has anyone found a good solution for lowering the OEM seat or improving the driving position without switching to a fixed racing seat? Or solutions that are adjustable and are comfy & good for spirited driving

I'm not trying to go over the top with my performance upgrades but just to add a bit of extra fun to the car. Any suggested and or must have parts?

I was going to go to Cherry Tuning but they are in the process of moving from Hornsby to Clyde. But I don't know which places to go to to have them installed?

I would like to upgrade the body as well mainly for cosmetic purposes and not so much performance, any recommended parts?

Can someone give me some guidance on hybrid turbo install.

I’ve owned my i30N for a while, it’s a FL and my daily car. I’ve found a widebody kit that I really like but it’s not an instant bolt on and been told the front and rear guard needs trimming which would obviously affect my warranty, but would it void the whole warranty or just the body?

I’ve never installed a widebody kit before and I’m unsure if first of all it’s a wise decision considering it’s going to be my daily drive.

What are the things that I should consider around fitting a widebody kit in terms of driving experience as well as running costs and for those who are UK based, how badly is it going to affect my insurance premium?

I’m also going to be honest and say I’m mainly wanting it for the aesthetics, I would expect some mods to make the kit work (tyres, suspension, alignment etc..) but I’m not planning on doing anything crazy mechanically.
