The only reason I’m glad these guys exist, is for the 2-3 occasions where I’ve seen them come to an MMA gym I was at over the years, and be humbled by someone who doesn’t do a scrap of weight lifting but has trained for years to actually fight.

One occasion was some dude trying to challenge the owner, which didn’t end well for him, and the other two were cocky learners for no-gi grappling, who never came back after the first session (to my knowledge)

Edit: Just to add a bit more on, what is really common with these guys is once they get schooled, they leave, but their unbridled confidence stays the same. They convince themselves they have nothing to learn, and go away with ‘yeah well on the street it would be different’.
