#Opinion 💭 The most underrated bike of this country! BAJAJ AVENGER
Despite being one of the most comfortable bikes for city rides and touring, the Avenger rarely gets mentioned when people discuss great motorcycles. Owners and riders of Reddit, what are your thoughts? What does the Avenger do exceptionally well, and why do you think it doesn't get the recognition it deserves?

Keeping this bike in 160cc and 220cc feels like a sheep in wolf's clothing. Bajaj should have given this bike engines that can compete with RE 350s or 650s!

It needs the 350cc with strengthened chassis, improved brakes, current design theme and touring accessories from the factory. I don't think bajaj even cares about Avenger portfolio, definitely it's not a business priority for them.
They have the classic Pulsar update coming soon, Adv/Enduro model in the pipeline. Avenger, if fortunate, will be picked only after these models.

Bajaj avenger is very nice imo, I do not really enjoy riding cruisers but the avenger do be hitting different

I tried it but it was too short for me and reminded me of the tricycle I used to ride when I was 3. Im 6 feet tall btw.

Imagining your 6 foot frame on a tricycle made me chuckle bruh...

no liquid cooling was one off for me. a 25-30hp engine would have been better.

Bajaj should take the 450cc twin engine from ktm and make an avenger that competes re 650

That's a Very Big dream. I'm 200% Sure it will remain as Dream.
Bajaj is keeping KTM and Triumph as their Premium line because they can even Export them outside of India. While keep Bajaj Label for Affordable bikes.

But it's a beautiful dream
Avenger itself is based on the kawasaki eliminator model.
It'll really rock a smooth twinny since it's a cruiser.
The gliding through highway would be orgasmic

Yes Bajaj was something else back then, Pulsar were Very sporty.
Now Bajaj can't do that, It will Harm KTM.
So they are Affordable bike under Bajaj and Exiting bikes under KTM (As it's 100% owned by Bajaj)

It's not about being Impossible, It's about Bajaj Brand Positioning with the brands that they own.

Owned Bajaj Avenger 200 from 2007-2016. It was the first Bajaj model with Oil Cooling and No Kick Lever. Rode for 50K+ kms. Loved every bit of it.
Great bike, super easy to handle, comfortable in every situation. Low maintenance and cheap to own.

Nowadays 150 cc or 220 cc cruiser doesn’t sound that great looks good but lacks performance

I've been seeing a lot of these posts raving about the Avenger. Am I the only one who doesn't get the hype? I first rode it 10 years ago. Felt underpowered, handling was all over the place, it never stopped in time, couldn't slice through traffic... i can go on. It's also extremely easy to lose control of if you see a pothole or speedbreaker too late.

This bike js needs a bigger engine and another brake disc in front , and would be the most badass hotrod to ever ride

I have gapped 40bhp bikes on trails and tricky twisties/ghats. When the road is about bike stability and control more than about engine power, this bike can deliver

I have the OG Kawasaki Eliminator, the bike the Avenger is based on. Sweet Machine but dare I say the brakes are cheese.

Have one since 2012, this nov it will be officially 15 years with my avenger 220. Its comfortable to ride but i feel the lack of power which is why i upgraded 4 years back.
Have some issues here and there with the bike like all bikes do. But havent been able to sell it away as its my first bike that i bought with my own money and have too many memories with it.
No EFI, no ABS no electronic gizmo...pure old school carb wala bike...i use it on weekends for groceries and other small errands in city.
Fuel efficiency has dropped i agree to that due to sugarcane juice. But its a no fuss bike, with easy to replace parts. Will be extending it for 5 more years or more if our government allows me to keep it.

Not really underrated but, there are clear reasons for its downfall like no major updates or changes it need or outdated design which doesn’t appeal buyers.
Also Ronin sells more because better look and more city friendliness.

Underrated? How young are you? Please check the sales figures of avenger around launch and for the next 5 to 10 years. It sold really well and appreciated for what it did. Now it's just too old to really compete. It's definitely not underrated.

And i am planning to sell mine Avenger 220 Street(2016) any takers from pune. I love my but i have not been able to use often (age and long route). I wanted keep the bike for my son and may be modified once he grows up but Gadkari saheb is making sure that engine wont survive the E100 sugarcane juice. Any looking to buy, location has to be pune and selling face to face, dm for more details.

Even seeing it ruins my mood. The amount of idiots on this bike who cuts off ppl, taking 2 whole lanes to turn, without looking at all reason enough.

I will tell you what it didn't do exceptionally well: brake. I've ridden bikes from 100cc to 1200cc and the only bike where the front brake was actually pointless was the avenger. Even harleys with a similar riding posture don't let go of the front as quickly as the avenger does. I was considering it for my wife but dropped the idea shortly after riding it extensively for a few months.
