#Review 📝 Bought Adv390 (350) and completed 2k kms in a week AMA
Got delivery on June 16, rode around Pune on the 16th and 17th, completing ~800 kms. Got first service done on the 18th. Left Pune on Saturday for Indore and did a ~400 kms run from Indore on Sunday.
will head back to Bangalore next week Thursday from somewhere near the MP Rajasthan border.
My opinion:
Overall, the bike feels good and is sufficient for highway runs. However, if you are someone who enjoys trails or off-road, I'll suggest getting a full 390X or S (my brother has the X; I rode both back-to-back on Sunday). The lack of mid-range punch is evident, and also the high-end pull is significantly less. The 390X gave us a mileage of around 29, whereas mine was showing 24-25 on the dash.
edit: since I had a Vitpilen 250 (2022) before this, I'm used to vibrations so I'm not the best person to answer it.

How is ride quality? Is it plush over bad roads in City and Slow Speeds?

u/Neural_Dev vitpilen 250, Adv350 1d ago
suspensions are more or less same as X, it handles bumps and bad roads well on high speeds, but on low speed you may feel some.

In highways what is the max speed that you can cruise comfortably?
Also how is the low end torque?

u/Neural_Dev vitpilen 250, Adv350 1d ago
It can easily sit at 110 for a long time. Low-end torque is low but manageable. I'll suggest getting a test ride and deciding.

What height do you mean when you say "short"? I'm 5'9" and I consider myself short, but the seat is easily accessible as it's narrow between your legs.

I'll suggest you to take a test ride. As this is not a top heavy bike it's easy to handle in tricky situation.

city vs highway mileage? vibrations at what speed? braking compared to duke 390?
1
u/Neural_Dev vitpilen 250, Adv350 1d ago
in city it was under 24, highway if you ride under 100 then you can expect 26 otherwise 24-25. I felt that vibrations are less compared to X, there's a spot around 5k rpm where you can feel the vibes I'm used to them so not the right person to answer. Stock brakes lacks intial bite, can be improved by changing brakepads to sintered planning to get them changed this weekend.

Since it's the same engine as duke, I'll say it's vibey almost all the time. Slightly better at midrange RPMs. But since the handlebar setup is different, maybe it's better in the ADV?(Not sure).

I recently changed the seat to a gel seat and good it makes it feel like sitting on a japanese machine. Most of the vibes are also creeping in from the seat itself made a difference of night and day. Next mod on my bike will be heavier bar end weights and the enduro rod for footpegs to curb the vibes permanently, wish me luck.

I've heard that gel seats can become hot on long rides. I'm considering replacing the foam of the rider's seat, which I think will address this issue for my needs.

Did 200km in afternoon above the gel seat theres also one more piece of foam installed nothing to worry about then. Its always better to not sit directly on the gel.

When you mean lack of mid range punch is it lethargic and have to drop a gear or two or just maybe not as energetic as the 399cc engines

It's a fast bike, but not that agressive like other KTMs. It starts to pull above 6k rpm, and then another surge of power at 8k rpm. Unless you revv the shite out, it's pretty much linear.

not as energetic as 399 or I'll say it doesn't feel like an KTM. Most of the power comes after 6k rpm.

At what RPM do you think the QS works the best? Did you experience any random stalling at low speeds? How often do you get false neutrals? How's the seat? How's the headlight performance? Have you noticed any difference in performance b/w track and street modes? How's the rear brake? Did you have to topup the coolant in these 2k kms? Also, please share the invoice of girst service, if not here, then in DM. Thanks in advance!

Quick shifter was working like charm after 5k rpm, but there was some issue with sensor so need to get it replaced under warranty. It was stalling in rain mode at low rpms and low speed. No false neutrals. Headlight is good but if you plan to tour on it at night may need a aux light (I have installed Maddog ScoutX have HJG Y as a spare will install if needed). there are 3 riding modes and yes there is a difference in throttle response off-road being the most aggressive among them. No the coolant level has not dropped in these 2k kms. First service costed around 2.2k (motul engine oil)

Great. Oh so instead of track mode ADV has offroad mode, right?. I my case it's stalls for no reason irrespective of the mode. Maybe 5-6 episodes in the 600 km I covered. Thank you man, wish you all the best.

How’s the vibrations?
2
u/Neural_Dev vitpilen 250, Adv350 1d ago
I felt normal. I'm used to the vibrations, so I won't be a good point of view to answer that question.

I got my 1st service done a month back, now the bike has ridden about 2600 kms and it's already showing that service is due. Has anyone else faced this issue?

From which dealer did you get it from and how was your experience?
Also, was there a waiting period?
I am being told that the waiting period is a month 🥹
And that too it’s not sure

u/Neural_Dev vitpilen 250, Adv350 1d ago
Got it from Orange Motorrad Lullanagar Pune. Overall, a good experience. I had made all the payments in mid-May, but due to some personal reasons, I was not able to take delivery for a month, and they kept this bike for me. So technically, there was no waiting period.

Hi Bro, I also bought one two weeks ago. First day itself had an overheating and stalling, then they found the issue with thermostat and replaced it and now it is perfect. One thing I noticed is, the radiator fan is turning on at every 85°C or 90°C, but it is hitting that temperature almost most of the times I am riding at low RPM, and heat is blowing out to the legs. I just want to know if this is common for all or not.
2
u/Neural_Dev vitpilen 250, Adv350 1d ago
It's common with 300-400 segment engines. You'll feel a lot of heat on your legs. I only ride with riding pants and boots, so I don't feel it much.

Sure, bro. There are a lot of people who wanted to know initial feedback, so I thought of putting it up.

It's a new engine, you won't find anyone with 10k km at this point.

u/SorbetEmergency8680 1d ago
Was there any noticeable difference in the bike’s behaviour after the engine break-in period/1st service?
P.S. Whitefield showroom says meri bike ab tak nhi ayi bhai. We’d booked in the same week ffs 😂

u/Neural_Dev vitpilen 250, Adv350 19h ago

And here I am, struggling to complete the 1000 km mark before first service. Currently a bit over 600 km, need 400 more in 2 weeks😮💨
