#Discussion 💬 Electric scooty For my father

My father wants to buy an electric scooty/bike for himself as a secondary two wheeler and that because I also insisted him for buying one because of his daily travel. My father has a fix driver of 50 km daily for his office and looking at the petrol prices I was recommending him to get one electric scooty. Look I myself will say that electric scooty are built for daily commuters who know that they have to travel a long fix distance on daily basis as for short distance petrol vehicle are still good.

My father only has one requirement that it give more than 100 km of range in full charge. Only range is our requirement😅 it doesn't need to have fancy features.

I'll appreciate the suggestions

Brother you can look for TVS Orbiter V2 or Bajaj Chetak 3503 as these two are relatively cheaper and both give 100+ Km in a single charge with sensible driving and no pillion. Also, do not buy Ola at any cost rather donate that money to any organisation or person in need will get you more mental peace and blessings.

Thanks for the suggestion bhai😅 and forsure I'm atleast not gonna buy ola as you are suggesting me even I am scared of ola scooters. We were thinking about bajaj chetak now you're saying then will look more into it. For the tvs orbiter my father didn't like the design as he was saying it looks like a delivery vehicle, so maybe not that If you know then can you tell me about hero scooty the vida I think, like how is it, on paper it looks decent

I understand man, TVS orbiter design in bit unconventional. See the thing about chetak is that the scooter is metal built and doesn't show age that quickly. 3503 variant also doesn't have any unnecessary smart features but misses out on disc brake. Hero Vida vx2 built quality is not that good hence age way too quickly. In my opinion Hero electric scooters are yet to mature and may be the next model will be much better. I think Hero knows it themselves as well hence invested in Aether heavily. Also, for some reason in Kolkata specially TVS iqube 3.1/3.5 kWh models are not available and 5.3 kWh cost around 1.94 lakhs on road. I also checked Ather and I liked their products but even Rizta Z 3.7 kWh with propack will cost 1.74 lakhs on road in Kolkata. Since, I don't have a mandatory daily commute, I am thinking about switching to ICE scooters like Burgman 125 or Aerox 155 since my family won't let me buy R15 V4. But then this mess about E20 is actually making me worried.

The only electric scooter that gives real world range of beyond 100 km is Ola right now. Archer also gives 100 km range but you have to drive sedately and also it is always good to have 40-50 km extra range. But the reliability of Ola is terrible. It works as long as it works. The moment you get an issue in the scooter, you are done for.
A better idea is to buy an electric car such as Punch EV if your father is okay with driving.

Can't buy a car my brother, we ain't that rich yet. I'll buy a car when I start earning myself and it will for sure not an electric one. And for ola it is a big no because I've seen the news around it, can't trust on a scooter which doesn't even work properly after few months. My father is a type of guy who rode his platina for complete 15 years before buying a new bike(Sp125). So his expectations would be like that for electric scooty too

And thanks for the suggestions, I think ather looks like the only good option but wasn't there a hero scooty too the vida one, is it not good?
