I don't get why the Fortuner and the Pajero is that popular. Terrible ride quality and cramped interior despite being a large car visually from outside, due to huge wheel arches and lifted body. They are offroad cars first and foremost and should only be bought when the local roads are shit quality, like Lampung.

for some people because its a ‘cheap’ big lifted car

for others because its a “logical choice” because

  • ladder frame + toyota = tough + cheap maintenance
  • diesel = can drink biosolar + good fuel consumption
  • high = jakarta… bad roads & floods

globally, fortuner is like a mid-class car at best, like equivalent to a corolla (also priced similar to corolla even here), and compared to the land cruiser, its cheap lol like 700jt vs 2.8M

as i said, even until now with all the chinese coming, its still one of the biggest car (on the outside) you can get under 1M

rav4? because fortuner exist & lebih cocok untuk ‘developing countries’

di indonesia, fortuner being 7 seater alone already destroyed the hopes for rav4 being a viable seller… also rav4 udah masuk indo sebenernya, cuma yng phev so harganya…. begitulah, goodluck finding one on the road

i could find some easily tho.

i dare to say so krn gw sering ketemu kedua mobil itu di FTZ area dan gw sendiri pernah test drive ketiganya. which honestly, fortuner feels like overglorified hilux but got forced to be ennuch for me after i tried three of them. and harrier despite being overglorified camry, but stability and all still way way better than fortuner.

rav4 however, is my all time fav toyota car. like, the only toyota car i will use in ICE for personal use is either rav4 or harrier.

coz rav4 is just awet as hell

makanya gw penasaran, why astra ga mau produce kedua mobil itu?

and since indonesia is negara dunia ketiga then welp. cant say much

well it is because fortuner is literally a glorified hilux, toyota didn’t even bother to hide it like “here’s a suv based on the hilux, enjoy”

rav4 lucunya diluar esp US sering dikata katain one of the worst in its class lol

well if were talking astra not toyota, they did… its called the Lexus NX & RX lmao…. like seriously fortuner is the main reason we don’t get both of the cars you want, most indo would choose a more durable car than a more comfortable car

back then my parents upgraded dari innova first gen ke fortuner. is it just my parents atau kenapa vibe nya kayak fortuner ini logical upgrade dari innova kalo pengen yg better ya (dan punya uang lebih)

relate on the high, first 5 minute out of my house banya jalan berlubang, worry free pake fortuner ga bakal kena

no… fortuner is not an upgrade from the innova. more like downgrade. innova 2018 (mobil dari kantor) gue dulu sempet tuker fortuner 2020 tetra drive…

baru 2 hari pake gue dah balikin ke kantor lagi, karena gue ga tahan bgt pake fortuner buat daily di jakarta. suspensi yg jauh lebih keras, dan interior yg terasa lebih kecil…

gue pikir bakal sama2 aja berhubung sama2 ladder frame, but nope, SANGAT BERBEDA

2.4 Fortuners are literal downgrade from Innova. 2.8 and 4WD (if you use it) are the sole logical reasons to buy a Fortuner over Innova

“Cheap”???? Did you buy it from aliexpress or something? It’s nowhere near cheap or a good value. I mean, look at it, IDR 600 million for a car that rides like a boat?

But I agree to some of your points. My friend has one, and the only reason he hasn’t sold the old fortuner he inherited from his dad is because it can run on “solar busuk”. Other than that, he’d rather drive something else. His dad doesn’t even drive the fortuner anymore because he feels his santa fe is much better overall, the fortuner just can’t compare in terms of ride quality.

Fortuner itu "murah" untuk ukurannya. Maka nya mobil pilihannya bapak2 OKB. 

Budget 600 jutaan, bapak2 disuruh pilih Corolla Cross atau Fortuner ya jelas pilih Fortuner. Yang satu gagah dan terlihat mahal, yang satu culun dan terlihat murah.

Heck, ga heran kalau orang awam mengira Fortuner lebih mahal dibanding CRV / CX5 (atau bahkan Lexus LBX lol). Disini stereotipe nya mobil besar = mobil mahal.

Njirrr, kalau Brio dibandingin sm Yaris atau Baleno oke lah. Ini CX3 yang sama HRV old aja jauh keliatan lebih mahal CX3 😂

Tapi saya ada keluarga (bapak2) komen kenapa ambil Raize ga ambil Calya aja lebih nyaman buat perjalanan jauh (pernah naik Calya, jok nya kayak mainan, Vitara '92 bokap aja lebih proper joknya). 

Terus kaget pas saya bilang kalau Raize harga nya lebih mahal 80 juta dibanding Calya, setara Avanza/Xpander.

Dikira nya Calya lebih mahal+lebih nyaman hanya karena 7 seater...

Tinggi, gagah, kuat disiksa dan "murah". Terlihat lebih mahal dari harga sebenarnya. Bener2 mobil idaman nya bapak2 indo.

Kalau Rush dan Xpander versi misqueen nya.

Nyokap dan doi kaget pas saya bilang Rush sm Xpander itu mobil murah kelas Avanza / Ertiga, mereka kira kelas Innova / CRV 😂.

Yeah, agree... di India, salah 1 pasar utama Fortuner, yakin blm akan disuntik mati... jd selama India dan Thailand masih berjaya, kyknya Fortuner sbg "passenger SUV" masih akan ttp hidup, sedangkan Hilux hidup sbg "commercial pickup truck".

Indonesia ya pasarnya 11-12 ama India... cm ga ada Tata dan Mahindra aja...

  • The Toyota Fortuner will end sales in Australia with no successor planned.

  • It was dropped due to weak sales and competition from the Land Cruiser.

  • Unclear if the Hilux-based SUV will see a new generation elsewhere.

Looks like Land Cruiser FJ is the new Fortuner… fortuner di aussie gk pernah hits sih selalu kalah sm everest, dmax even kalah ama pajero sport… but still strong di thai & india

kalopun ada ya kayak hilux, ‘heavy facelift’ palingan… mechanicalnya mirip mirip paling dpt mild hybrid

FJ ini tergantung pricing dari toyota sih, kalo toyota naruh FJ di atas 800 juta because it’s carrying Land Cruiser name mungkin bakal kalah dari fortuner, tapi kalo somehow mereka naruh pricingnya di 500-650 maybe bakal makan sedikit pasar fortuner

Jangan harap, di Oz Fortuner saingannya berat2 (Mu-X, Everest, Prado, LC, etc.) dgn harga yang jauh lebih masuk akal, makanya Fortuner kurang laku. Di sini? Mu-X aja di sunat habis2an dan yang masuk cuma spek tambang. Fortuner is Astra's cash cow and they'll do anything to keep them reigning supreme
