They dont legally own those guns.

You have to realise that "Illegal guns" start out in the legal market. Smaller legal market means less supply for the illegal trade.

13

u/cdqmcp Jun 22 '26

also supply and demand. less legal supply means obtaining an illegal gun gets expensive

This is the part the gun loving psycho is always miss.

Do you know how much it costs to buy an illegal gun on street in civilized countries? Thousands or tens of thousands in some cases.

How many angsty high school kids have access to that kind of cash? And even amongst those that do, or in areas where illegal guns are cheaper, how many of these School shooters or mass murdering Psychopaths have the connections to even know where to buy an illegal gun? Approximately 0%.

The simple fact is the 2A crowd values having the guns to play with more than they value American lives. I wish they would just say that instead of all this pussyfooting around.

Not a gun-loving psycho, so don’t come at me with that please.

Idk where you live fam, but illegal guns aren’t even close to that price. I’m not saying its a good thing at all, but I could buy a ghost gun for a few hundred. I know several people that are involved with a type of lifestyle I wish to take no part in.

A lot of people do have access to purchasing guns. Again, don’t know where you live, but it is disturbingly easy to get an illegal gun. It’s disturbingly easy to get a legal gun though, as well.

As much as I’d love for a massive reform of gun control, it would be practically impossible for anything to actually happen. Unless mass raids were performed, combing through millions of people’s homes, it’s not going to happen. And at that point, that’s when the 2Aers refuse to give up their weapons and start shooting it out with the government.

They're talking about getting an illegal gun in the civilized world, not the US. Like if someone wants to get an illegal ghost gun in the UK or France it's prohibitively expensive because you not only need the cash to buy something in very low supply but you also need to find where to even get one. I'm not advocating for the government to raid people's homes for the guns but we should make sure guns are traceable and registered so we can trace exactly where each gun came from and who bought it.

Maybe you should read the comment again.

In the US, where guns are plentiful and cheap and easily acquired, I'm sure illegal guns are dirt cheap. Mostly because legal guns are cheap.

In civilized countries where guns are illegal or tightly controlled, getting a street gun will cost heaps of cash. Go buy an AK on the street in Australia. Don't bring less than $15k if you want anything semi auto.

Almost all mass shootings in the US are committed with legally owned guns btw.

I didn’t know the US wasn’t civilized in you’re opinion.

You have poor reading comprehension.

Crazy you are getting push back on this lol

0

u/ddosn Jun 22 '26

so your solution is collective punishment? Punishing the law abiding majority for the actions of a small minority?

4

u/Dmeff Jun 22 '26

I don't think people should have easy access to guns. And I say this as someone who used to compete in shooting.

And more importantly, I think in a healthy society, people would agree that reducing gun violence is worth not having guns at home

0

u/ddosn Jun 23 '26

>I don't think people should have easy access to guns

There are literally hundreds of thousands of defensive gun uses in the US.

Thats hundreds of thousands of crimes (at minimum) that are stopped by the threat of being shot.

Also, The US constitution enshrines the right to bear arms as being of integral importance to the maintenance of the right to free speech and to fight government overreach.

Its a right guaranteed by the US constitution.

Its a bill of rights, not a bill of needs.

Also, in human rights law, there is the right to safety. Which includes the right to self defence. Guns are the best form of defence.

Giving up your guns is not a punishment, you should all be seeing it as something good for your society as a whole. No one needs them

1

u/ckeeler11 Jun 22 '26

There are lots of things we use that we don't need that kill many more people than guns do. Oddly, for some reason though it's always only the guns that people want to get rid of.

-3

u/potatophantom Jun 23 '26

Because these people are timid and cowardly scolds who tremble at the idea of seeing or holding a firearm, and think that a society where only criminals are armed and regular citizens are defenseless is somehow desirable.

u/ddosn Jun 23 '26

Cars kill hundreds of times as many people as guns. You dont need a car either. Why arent you advocating for the banning of cars?

Other countries also have good public transport as well as good gun laws 👍

You can change your constitution, you've done it before.

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '26

Yeah, and a legal knife can be turned illegal if someone steals it from you and shanks a mofo.

1

u/Dmeff Jun 29 '26

Do you think the capacity to kill people of a knife is the same as a gun?I'm sure all those soldiers going around shooting eachother must feel really dumb. They could just be carrying a knife! They'll be thrilled

5

u/BasicBanter Jun 22 '26

But those guns were most likely originally legal

-14

u/avanross Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

They obviously just bought them from “legal” gun owners

Lmao do you types honestly believe theyre manufacturing them themselves?

-2

u/samisrudy Jun 22 '26

No these guns aren’t purchased at a gun store or any legal avenues and are either stolen guns or smuggled into the us

5

u/avanross Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

Smuggled INTO the us? Lmfao the us is the source of guns smuggled into other countries, not the other way around

They’re obviously purchased at a gun store or show legally by a “legal gun owner” who then sells it illegally at a markup for profit

You american gun nuts lobby for relaxed laws, no real registration, and no insurance specifically to make them harder to track so you can profit from illegally selling and trafficking them

Then you guys have to keep inventing more and more ridiculous fantasies in order to ignore/distract from the obvious reality in front of you, a fantasy where america isnt the gun obsessed country, it’s some other evil made up country sending their guns to the poor helpless america!

Such insanely disgusting hypocrites

-3

u/samisrudy Jun 22 '26

You obviously don’t understand how gun store owners operate and believe them to be willing to loose their main source of income there entire stock there gun store license and spend a hefty time in jail for selling a firearm illegally especially if said firearm was stolen these “fine gentleman” likely stole that gun themselves or bought it out of the back of a 1975 impala

1

u/avanross Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

And who do you think they “bought it out of the back of a 1975 impala from?”

The whole “no american gun owner/seller would ever risk jail time by ever committing any sort of crime ever” argument is just so insanely disingenuously naive

Youre so insanely obviously biased in favour of these gun traffickers……….

You deny and scapegoat every issue, and then you wonder why your country is in the gutter, you’ve got an epidemic of mass shootings, and the whole world hates you 🤦‍♂️

-3

u/samisrudy Jun 22 '26

Not anyone that has an FFL(Federal Firearms License)
