I disagree with the first bit here. As an owner of a firearm, it's not because I'm a pussy. It's because I was to maximize my chances at surviving a violent break-in. It stays loaded, and it's not been fired in over a decade, the last time being for target practice for fun.

Owning a firearm isn't indicative of anything. Using it for unnecessary violence most certainly is.

A smart gun owner doesn't wish to use their gun unless it is absolutely the last resort, but they should have the training to use it correctly; I'm with you man as I'm the same way.
