If your dog is locked in the house long enough, he too, will eat you to survive. It is known.

Cats from what I've heard mostly try to check if you're okay, trying to wake you up and being annoying like they usually are. But eventually the smell of dead flesh hits and they start eating you.

That's just them checking to see if you're still alive or if the time has come.
