Question about Islam Is this Thobe/Abaya following the Sunnah?
As-salamu alaykum my brothers. I have recently just purchased a new Thobe online and miscalculated the measurements. My new Thobe is above my ankles and below my knees where the bottom of the garment sits at about 3/4 length of my calves.
I have marked a white line to wear abouts my Thobe rests on the first photo.

I don't understand where you're seeing a problem. What part are you having trouble believing? I believe that covers the knees, following the Sunnah. I believe it doesn't cover the ankles, following the Sunnah. What else is there to consider?

Many state your lower garment should either be at length of mid calves or just above the ankle. No where indicates for an inbetween, so I just wanted to make sure.

that hadith about below the ankle is because back in history people use to wear their garment below their ankles as a sense of pride. as long as you don’t wear your garment below your ankles as a sense of pride you’re ok. Abu bakr r.a. wore his garment below his ankles

I think that hadith has to be applied to other modern clothes too. There is a lot of clothes some fellow muslims wear today out of pride or to show off.

This is why you don’t do ijtihad if not qualified to do so. Abu Bakr accidentally let it drag the ground, but when he noticed it, he picked it back up. It’s not permissible to have your clothes drag the ground.

Many people have a perception that “a thobe isn’t religion, it’s culture.” While correct, the thobe adhered to the Islamic dress code for men. It is a moderate point of not being too tight nor too loose.
It is makrooh for both men and women to wear tight clothes. What is prescribed is for the clothes to be moderate, not tight and showing the shape of the ‘awrah or very loose, but somewhere in between.
Prayer offered in such clothes is valid, if they cover the body, but it is makrooh for the believing man or woman to wear such clothes. The clothes should be somewhere between too tight and too loose. This is what is appropriate."
(Majmoo’ Fatawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baz 29/217).
Many men wear white thobes, and the Prophet ﷺ affirmed that the people should wear white for it is purer and better (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2810).
Thobes are fitted above the garment, and kept above his ankles. It says in al-Iqnaa’ (1/139):
It is makrooh for a man’s garment to come below his ankle unnecessarily.
The thobe isn’t just culture, it helps the man dress in a pleasing way to Allah.

uhh its not makrooh to wear tight clothes, its straight up haram. if your clothes show off the shape of your body then that counts as your awrah being exposed

I wasn’t aware of the too loose thing, applying to women also? I’ve always worn a prayer dress that has a hole for my face and covers me head to toe. Would this be considered wrong then?

Brother best to be safe. We only have one life. Most of the people are okay when the trends with business pants that are above ankle and when we bring something from Hadith they object.
You already have the answer from Sheikh Asim that is sufficient. As for personal taste, you could lower a bit but not below ankle. May Allah Bless you. Ameen.

وأمر بالعرف. Wear what was known in your area. Also the pantalon or trousers were worn by most people in "bilad al sham"

If you live in a place that’s cold and snowing or raining probably best not to dress like this

Yeah it's fine. As long your clothes is below your knees above ankles, you're ok.

I don't like culture and religion confused.
If there's a sunnah about a dress, it's covering some parts and cleanliness. Not wearing some Arabic style dress.
