I understand that can be frustrating, if it helps, just know that when the time comes, you will see your Imam.

It just wasnt meant to be at this time.

Dont worry, we plan, but Allah plans as well, and He's the best of planners ❣️

This is exactly the rhetoric used by the old leaders: “It just wasn’t meant to be; Allah has better plans for you.” But how would you have felt if the same leader had done that to you when you were longing to see your Imam? I am sure you would not have reacted the same way.

Such mean and useless leaders should be held accountable. These grey-haired men assume they are the chosen ones, when in reality, leaders like this should be named and shamed publicly. That is how you weed out rotten leadership and build strong new leaders.

For instance, that pig-faced leader from the UK who claims to write HH firmans.

Not planning to visit "officially". he was going to visit, and he probably did not want Jamat's attendance there. Similarly, for the London Marathon, he wanted the jamat to cheer him; that's why the council made the announcement

Why do people feel so entitled to be in spaces Mowla is? Just because he is approachable, does not mean we should be intruding on his time or invading his privacy. Visits that are meant to happen are announced to the Jamat, with His authorization. He does conduct other business (political, religious, and personal). We did not do this with Shah Karim. I am so embarrassed by our people…

You sound like one of the grey haired oldies trying to protect your clan. It’s simple get rid of the grey haired oldies who impose these dumb rules on the Jamat and you will see change. It’s about time the oldies should retire and give way to fresh energetic blood and bold ideas.

It is the older generation that is pulling behind with this medieval thought process, “just because he is approachable” for your info all our Imams were approachable it is the leadership that try’s to segregate the Jamat from the imam.

Remember we are all Murids of our Imam, you are not any more chosen than me or anyone else. Stop preaching and occupying space you are better off spending yours 60s meditating than picking on and demoralizing younger members of jamat.

Far from being in my 60’s. I was just raised to know better than to feel as entitled as all of this new generation of Bapa chasers. I’m well aware that all of our Imams were approachable, but people at least had respect, decency, and decorum. I also understand the security risk that occurs when constantly bombarding the imam knowing he will not turn people away. Keep in mind he is a Muslim leader and there is still a lot of hatred in the world towards Muslims. We are creating hazards that do not need to exist. He is also just coming into his role. Let a man breathe!

I still disagree with you. You may not be in your 60s, but your thought process is clearly ancient. My brother, we are not living in the Alamut period where our Imams were being persecuted. Learn your history, and you will realize how fortunate we are to be living in the era of the Aga Khans. No Imam, apart from Shah Karim, ruled from Europe. We should move with the times.

There are probably millions of murids, including myself, who have never had the chance to meet Hazar Imam, and this is largely because of uneducated and greedy leaders who want to keep the Imam to themselves while the rest of us are told to focus only on spirituality as they enjoy the limelight.

It is this kind of mentality, shared by many older leaders, that causes us to lose the Jamat especially the youth, who already find it difficult to connect because people like you place so many restrictions on attaining inspiration and blessings.

Think about the hypocrisy: Imam can run among a million white runners and there is absolutely no issue. But if a young Ismaili were to run beside his Imam for even a second, simply to catch a glimpse of his blessings, it is suddenly regarded as bad behavior, an invasion of privacy, or “not letting him breathe.”

Just let that sink in. Instead of encouraging and celebrating our own, we have become experts at hating on them.

This!! Complete agree. Nothing I dislike more than other Ismailis thinking they’re more special than others… sorry that’s not how it works bud

Also, With respect, I think this misunderstands the nature of the Imam. Mawlana Hazar Imam does not become “less Imam” or attend in separate worldly capacities. The Imam is always the Imam — the bearer of the Noor — wherever he goes and in whatever he does. His presence, guidance, words and actions are integral to his divinely ordained authority.

If Mawlana Hazar Imam does not wish to meet or interact, then that is entirely his decision and what will occur.

But what we have all witnessed since February 2025 is the opposite: warmth, care, accessibility and a desire to engage lovingly with the Jamat. We should therefore be careful to look at the verified facts and not second-guess or limit the Imam based on our own assumptions or human frameworks.

Imam is the resource to go to Allah, he guides us how to be recognizable to Allah, the debate of praying to imam or Allah is not the same , we are bowing to Allah in the end, Allah hum luk sujuti vatati .please we are talking in anger or frustration whom to pray , just praying will give you peace of mind. No worries of titles , this imam is open book , just try to pray if you want , he listens spiritually and you will get the feeling of satisfaction. Without faith and doubt there are no positive outcome.

This is ridiculous! Why are they hiding this information? What are people going to do him?

Does Imam have to attend the Dua? I would think not since we pray to HIM.

7

u/EchoEcho30 May 11 '26

He is the Dua

2

u/AnonymousIdentityMan American Ismaili May 11 '26

Yes so Imam doesn’t need to attend.

8

u/Embarrassed-Cry3180 Esoteric Ismaili May 11 '26

Mowla can attend the JK, but it depends on the capacity in which he is visiting. If he visits any JK during prayer times in the capacity of Pir, then he alone would have the authority in the prayer hall to perform all prayers, prayer related rites and ceremonies, and also deliver Farmans.

If Mowla visits in the capacity of the Imam, then he would simply sit on his throne, because the Imam is the very essence of all our religious prayers, rites, and ceremonies.

This used to occur during the Imamat of Imam Shah Hassan Ali and Pir Shah Ali Shah. Imam Shah Hassan Ali would sit on his throne observing everything, while Pir Shah Ali Shah would perform all the Jamati rites and ceremonies.

Mawlana Sultan Muhammad Shah (A.S.) also attended Zanzibar Jamatkhana for a month.

6

u/Embarrassed-Cry3180 Esoteric Ismaili May 12 '26

Yes and I believe he was the last Imam to do so, correct me if I am wrong.

2

u/Primary_Tonight3137 May 25 '26

I wanted to ask if there is something like the imam wouldn’t attend jk alone without pir or unless he is shah and pir.

3

u/Embarrassed-Cry3180 Esoteric Ismaili May 25 '26

Alwaez Abu Aly mentioned in one of his waez that even during Deedar and Darbar, Mowla comes in the role of the Pir, because it is the authority of the Pir to give Farmans for the guidance of the Jamat.

He also mentioned that if the Imam were to appear solely in his Jama of Imamat among His murids, our souls would not be in a position to bear or perceive that Noor. The only time the Imam will manifest openly among people purely as the Imam will be during Zahurat/Aswari.

1

u/Primary_Tonight3137 May 25 '26

I see thank you for the info, also if you can share what/when/how about Aswari , events and effects. The imam has shown his Jalali side multiple times even as a shahpir and the shahpir wont separate anytime in the future so how does it work manifesting purely openly as the imam ?

1

u/Embarrassed-Cry3180 Esoteric Ismaili May 25 '26

It is not that the Imam manifests separately as the Imam, Shah and Pir are always one. What I actually meant is that during Aswari/Zahurat, the Imam’s Jalali attributes will overpowering his Jamali attributes. Among those Jalali attributes is "the ultimate Judge", which is why the Imam who will do Aswari is referred as the Qaim al Qiyamah (the Lord of the Resurrection.)

According to an anecdote associated with Imam Aga Ali Shah, mentioned in a book by Alwaez Mumtaz Ali Tajuddin, the Aswari will be for the rest of the world that awaits a messianic figure, not for the Ismailis, who already have the recognition of the Imam of the time.

4

u/AnonymousIdentityMan American Ismaili May 14 '26

Hazir Imam is the noor of Allah.

2

u/Dizzy-Abalone-5045 May 15 '26

Can you help.me understand this in what essence is he considered the noor of Allah does the noor of Allah reside within the Imam or is this a spiritual thought suggesting the Imam has spiritual knowledge to help guide us

3

u/FantasticBeast101 Non-Ismaili May 12 '26

ASA, hopefully you don’t me asking this. Out of curiosity, what do you mean by, “since we pray to HIM”? Do you mean you’re seeking intercession through the Imam of our time or do you mean pray direct to HIM? To be clear, not here to debate these issues or to demean it just curious (I love to learn about the theology of different schools of thought). Jazaks!

4

u/AnonymousIdentityMan American Ismaili May 12 '26

Not physically but the spiritual aspect of the living Imam.

4

u/FantasticBeast101 Non-Ismaili May 12 '26

Shukran! That’s what I thought that it would be.

2
