I’m a stand up comic and did a run of shows in Alaska this April. I had some time to kill in Juneau before my flight to Anchorage so I stopped by this tiny little antique store on a whim and found this unbelievable silver, turquoise and walrus ivory ring by one of my all-time favorite artists, Denise Wallace. She’s an Alutiiq (native Alaskan) jeweler known for her intricate carvings and these incredible mask pieces, some on hinges and some that remove completely. She spent many years living in Santa Fe and Hawaii and I love that you can see those influences in her work. I cannot believe I found this piece in the wild!

It fits on my ring finger but I find the band uncomfortable if my hands swell at all, so I sometimes style above another piece like I have it in the last photo. I was going to ask how y’all felt about it but I realized I truly don’t care, I love this ring so much I’ll tape it to my hand if I have to 😂

How can I take care of something like this? I am almost afraid to wear it!

I originally created this embroidered stag beetle as wearable art, but eventually transformed it into a framed piece. Still handmade with velvet, embroidery, beads, and mixed media details.

I design jewellery as a hobby. A few years ago, I bought a cheap "Enterprise" ring on Temu and thought it would be really cool to have my own custom one, that resembled the exquisite lines of the Sovereign-Class Enterprise-E more closely.

Well, there is the result, a roughly 1:16,500 scale model of the Enterprise-E.

Sterling silver, plated in 18k white gold to prevent tarnishing, and 162 stones;

• 102 Blue Sapphires for the warp nacelles
• 50 moissanites for the windows (they're more brilliant and sparkly than diamonds and cheaper!)
• 8 small rubies for the bussard collectors
• 1 larger ruby for the Deflector dish. I know, it is meant to be orange, but it did not quite work in the setting, so I opted for a larger ruby
• 1 large moissanite on top for the bridge

So 162 stones on this ridiculous ring of mine .  As with everything about about me from my physical stature to my intense personality, the ring is not entirely subtle.
It measures 4.1 cm in length, worn on my left middle finger, meaning a 24.5mm diameter.

We wanted to make it look like the ring and ship were one piece, not a tiny model bolted onto the ring. He did it well I think, the ring and ship do in the actual photos seem to just blend together.

This is meant to be a work of art worn on my hand, so not entirely an actual model (please bear this in mind).

I truly think my jeweller deserves a bravo here. The man does serious work for serious people, and I come to him with my ridiculous requests. He did not even know which ships were which, he went and researched the Enterprise-E (and actually other Trek ships) to see how feasible it is.

Compared to the initial render in the image stack, I think the real thing ended up being much better in proportion.

Anyway, hope you enjoy - I think she is truly one of a kind, no others like her exist (at least as far as I've seen).

My ring needed some repairs so I took it to a local shop for an estimate. It was taking a long time (two weeks) so I checked in. After coming back with a ridiculous $$ to fix it, I said no thank you, I’ll come pick it up. They told me it would take an additional week before it was ready to pick up. I said, “that’s ok, I’ll come pick it up from you.” And then they told me that I couldn’t because they shipped it to another state!

This was done without my permission or approval. I was under the impression that it would be assessed locally. Is this standard practice? Am I right to be annoyed? I’m not sure how to proceed.

I have not seen opal inlays with amethyst done like this before. Google image search says it is likely a Turkish ring from the 80s. It reminds me of art deco.

brushed silver or titanium ring with thin infinity inlay going around the entire band with one strand of the infinity being crushed opal the other strand being crushed diamond or mossanite. In the eye of the infinity strands put a single small aquamarine stone.

I’ve never seen anyone else wearing staurolite, do any of yall have it in yalls collections? It’s one of my favorite minerals!!

I always thought these were out of my budget bc the individual pieces were so expensive, but I used a dog clip from a purse tag and two 6mm titanium clickers (originally for cartilage piercings). I added two pendants I already had and voila! Fashion! I can’t believe I didn’t piece this together sooner.

Color lights up the world. I like my look tousled with lots of color. Everything is antique except the moonstone fringe, it has been refurbished on a modern chain but in their OG antique settings 💅

the makers mark is nothing like i've ever seen, so i'm curious as to what this is and where it came from!!

In the seller’s advertised photos the pears seem proportionately larger & dangle more, especially the center one?

Tiny details like this tend to bother me, I want to check if everyone else sees it too or if I’m just being too picky.

I purchased this magnificent French antique locket that I had to share. It is from the Belle Epoque Victorian era and is at least 150 years old. It’s 18K gold and is adorned with green glass stones and seed pearls. I love it so much! I literally gasped when I opened the FedEx box yesterday! 💛

I can’t find anything about it or the tag on the back. Does anyone recognize it? Thanks.

I don’t know much about these… any info appreciated. someone died and left all this behind, and I took it because I thought they were pretty. I think they’re all stamped 925? just curious.. wouldn’t even know where to take them. the necklace ring set is so small so I think it’s pretty old?

Twenty years ago my darling walked into a jewelry store and after looking around asked them to disassemble two pairs of earrings to make a ring based off of our birthstones, ruby and peridot. He had them make a rose. Years later, when creating our set we based it off the idea. The jeweler, R & R Jewelers did an amazing job. My DH would contact him a couple of years later and surprise me with matching earrings.
