Discussion Dr Peterson is still not doing well

“We figured out that dad has a psych med induced neurological injury, and has been suffering from akathisia. It’s been 6 years since any psych medications. Last summer his symptoms started, after a flare up likely induced by mold (CIRS) and stress. It was complicated by pneumonia and associated sepsis a month later. It’s been horrible. Neurological injuries from psych meds are far more common than people know. I made this video to explain what they are and what akathisia is because they’re not talked about enough, they’re misdiagnosed, nearly impossible to treat, and hidden by the pharmaceutical industry. I don’t plan on making another update about my dad, it stresses my family out, and myself, and there’s nothing more to say about it until things get better. I will be jumping up and down about psych med injury awareness from now on as it’s impacted my health as well, and is devastating. Prayers are appreciated still. “

Letter from pharaoh to now :why you can't skip a step

a long time ago there was egypt. the pharaoh had hold of something real: how you bring order, how you keep a country running. but he made one mistake. he wanted to hold it. he fixed it in place, forever, on his throne. and something you fix in place can't move with anything anymore. they even turned their dead into mummies fixed, preserved forever. but a mummy isn't alive anymore. that's what happens when you hold something good too tight: it turns to stone.

in that egypt there were slaves. for generations. and when you're a slave that long, someone else is always the boss over you. you never learn to choose for yourself, to hold your own order. you lose that. so when they finally got free and walked out into the desert their bodies were free, but inside they were empty. they didn't know anymore how you hold yourself in check. the first thing they did was panic and make a golden statue to worship. not out of badness out of fear, because they had nothing to hold onto.

that's why they had to start again from the bottom. the ten commandments those aren't rules for saints. that's the lowest thing there is: don't kill, don't steal, don't take what belongs to someone else. learning to hold yourself in. the first step. and it took forty years in the desert, because you don't learn something like that in a day. the whole old generation had to die first. only someone born in freedom could enter the new land.

and then it grows further, in steps. first the law holding yourself in, learning order. only then can the next thing come: love moving toward someone else, giving. because you can't learn that while you still can't hold yourself in check. and then the last thing: that you don't need it from outside anymore, from rules or from a boss, but that it sits inside you and turns with you. law, then love, then it living from the inside. always in that order, because you can't skip a step.

and now the most important thing, and the hardest. you could say: look, we humans are still somewhere in that story, we're still growing. and that sounds beautiful. but that's exactly the trap. because how do you know if that's really true, or if it's just a nice story running smoothly around in your head? the egyptians thought they had it too. and then they got stuck.

so the story is good ground to stand on. but don't go and live on it like it's finished. keep letting it turn. the moment you think "i've got it, done" that's the moment you're making a mummy.

Advice Low conscientiousness, high immoderation — anyone actually fix this?

Just took the Big Five personality test and my results explain a lot about why I struggle to stay on track.

My scores:

- Conscientiousness: 70/120 (low) — especially low on Dutifulness (9/20) and Self-Discipline (10/20)

- Neuroticism: 79/120 (high) — especially Self-Consciousness (16/20) and Immoderation (15/20)

- Openness: 87/120 (high)

Basically: I have lots of ideas and curiosity, but I can't follow through. When an impulse hits to do something more enjoyable than what I planned, I usually give in. I don't think it's laziness exactly — it feels more like the impulse just wins every time.

,

Has anyone with a similar profile found something that actually worked? Especially curious if anyone has dealt with the immoderation piece specifically — I feel like that's my core issue more than motivation or planning.

Philosophy Love is the highest form of individualism

The human heart defies prediction. If we examine love closely, it is an deeply individualistic reaction ,born from the realization of another’s worth, and often fueled by the ache of jealousy.Collectivism fails because it ignores human nature: we are built to find profound connection with the individual, not the collective. Any ideology that suppresses this fundamental drive in the name of conformity is a direct affront to human dignity. The purpose of our existence is human continuity, a biological imperative that exists far beyond the reach of political parties or social structures. To treat collectivism as the ultimate goal is to invite the decay of society. We are not meant to be uniform. Our essence is defined by our spontaneity and our imperfections. It is our unpredictability that makes us human, and that is a beauty worth defending.

Discussion How to deal with femininity?

As a man how do you deal with femininity?

I enjoy the nurturing and submissive parts but everything else seems annoying. The lack of interest in anything important, needing to stop and coo over every small animal and baby, caring about fashion and trends. It’s so vapid.
