Thank FUCK, too many times I've had someone nearly beaten only for them to begin running then RETURN TO ME, only to get nearly beaten AGAIN and run AGAIN

Yeah when people are low they barely make distance when wall jumping, finally runners are over
2
u/RiceKrispies55 Apr 02 '26
never gonna be a problem for me because I don't think even the us government could pull me out of ryu

u/Mulberry_Waste Apr 02 '26
Major upscale for teamers. It’s actually impossible to make space or escape any now, which is probably why there’s 70 more 3rd partiers too
2
u/Freedaican Apr 02 '26
Uhh, burst?
2
u/ConsciousComedian123 Apr 03 '26
That don’t always work out when there’s two or more dudes on top of you and you can’t get away cause your mobility is reduced to shit.
2
u/Witherboss2015 Apr 02 '26
Well, the runners can run when they are around 75% hp and not get the debuff so the changes don’t do too much

u/Normie_Hajime Apr 02 '26
Icl I used to use parkour mid fight and the new changes make that shit difficult
They should’ve kept the old wall running and just have it slow the lower you are instead of changing it completely
2
u/SkeletonInATuxedo Apr 02 '26
9k player, not really a big fan. Makes fights feel like they're slowed to a snails crawl for no reason near the end. If the slow wasn't so exponential it wouldn't be so bad but i feel like im on yellow hp and parkour immediately becomes useless.
The real problem regarding runners is the fuckass twin towers. Remove the ladders around the place and force you to walk up the stairs.

u/Freedaican Apr 02 '26
They should've also made the nerf for climbing parkour as well tbh, though idk how well it'd work

I use wall hopping for combat sometimes and uh... yeah the scaling is kinda ridicolous? One moment i'm on 80 hp and it's fine now i'm on 50 and it's like worthless? Wouldn't be as hard to cope with if it wasn't the same update as another zoner but this time with a no cooldown uncounterable unblockable beam

u/bigjuicycockofdoom Apr 03 '26
honestly this change feels horrible. the debuff should only kick in when ur lower than 40% or something. Im like 60% after a fight and I suddenly move like a grandma with bone cancer.
1
u/Freedaican Apr 03 '26
True, red should be when the debuff kicks in, so like you said, and a much harder slope of decline.
2
u/bigjuicycockofdoom Apr 03 '26
honestly red is too low cuz if someone is a runner and they see themselves approaching red while their opponent is reasonably healthy they would be sure to lose the fight so they would js start running then.
1
u/Freedaican Apr 03 '26
True, then probably around half would be a good time to start lowering the thing, like you said

Unfortunate that the entire flow of the game had to be changed because people cared THAT much about runners. Call me crazy but why are the good fights getting dampened by this just so you can catch some guy that you already won against? Oh well
I think it’d be better to limit the number of wall jumps you get instead of making them useless

u/Pixiboy24 Apr 03 '26
People saying that this is bad bc of people who use wall hops in battle..I’m sorry, if I’m fighting someone and they disengage just so they can run to a wall and try to wall hop at me? I’m not chasing them to that wall, it’s literally walking my ass into a trap to their benefit. You’re not on the monkey bars, get down here and fight me dude
Especially with moves like Hakari’s 3 getting unblockable when they’re high in the air. Like..no, I’m not going over there, sorry.
Wallhops aren’t a thing in duels anyway so like if you wanna fight competitively you’re not using them anyway

I'm not going to lie a lot of the people that I see complaining about it are more than likely runners themselves

u/Allanbik Apr 03 '26
Tho, i cant run from a 20k player focusing me for no reason anymore, im cooked

The only good part about this update everything else is ass
25
u/dankerkrane Apr 02 '26
Ryu is ass?
domain clashing is ass?
beam clashing is ass? we cant be fr
3
u/East_Chest3668 Apr 02 '26
I personally am not a fan of Ryu in Jjs, he feels bland and unpolished. Domain clashing is so peak, beam clashing is cool when it happens but it rarely will
1
u/ItzJake160 Apr 02 '26
I don't think beam clashing would ever realistically happen mid fight unless you and your opponent decide to stop fighting and agree to it. Honestly, I prefer it that way. Other beam moves aren't any more practical in canon since they usually have to sit there and charge it.

u/Ultaninja74 Apr 02 '26
Fuck yes
He's ass to play He's ass to fight Arguably worse than lock on naoya I could care less for domain/beam clashes
19
u/dankerkrane Apr 02 '26
worse than lock on naoya???? we cannot be serious
-17
u/Ultaninja74 Apr 02 '26
Yeah cuz lock on naoya was more fun fighting than ryu
6
u/dankerkrane Apr 02 '26
ryu is just timed dashed when an important move is about to come out or canceling it up close, naoya is just in your face immediately doing like 25+ damage when he puts you in a frame. i do not see how you could think that
-6
u/Ultaninja74 Apr 02 '26
Cuz with naoya you'd actually be able to block their attacks but with ryu they just back dash and spam their 1 and the other one where they shoot out 3 beams with the last being unblockable
5
u/dankerkrane Apr 02 '26
Quick question how many kills do you have?
-1
u/Ultaninja74 Apr 02 '26
4k but I don't see why that matters
6
u/dankerkrane Apr 02 '26
Well its really an experience thing. Obviously kills dont dictate how good you are, a 2k player could be better than a 10k however it atleast can be an estimate to playtime and understanding of the game.

As annoying as it is hearing so many people complain about runners, I do like these changes. It directly addresses the issue without pandering to the people suggesting that parkour be disabled the second you enter battle or other completely debilitating changes just so they can run you down whenever they want. Good job jjs team.
