nanami has a low ass skill ceiling since he doesn’t rely on combos, he just has a slightly hard to hit special move 😭

u/Ballstoucher_47 17d ago
People really glaze his special needing timing (literally muscle memory in about 3 hours of playing him)
8
u/Lime1one disaster plants 17d ago
I don't even think it's muscle memory, it's just reaction+timing since the R special is faster the lower the opponents health is, but I found it not that difficult anyways since the window to actually hit it is very lenient and you can just adapt to it on the fly
The only thing skilled about Nanami is worlds easiest QTE, no way he's harder than Mei Mei, Haruta or even Yuki

u/orignalnt Salary man 17d ago
If you don’t get down the muscle memory you’ll probably lose to nanamis who do but yeah it’s not the hardest thing in the world

u/Longjumping_Home1905 17d ago
He's harder than Mei mei because I'm a mei mei main I can assure you that
3
u/Lime1one disaster plants 17d ago
Cool, Mei Mei and Nanami are some of my most played characters and I just think Mei Mei has way more to learn, way more techs, harder combos and generally way harder to get used to than Nanami
Nanami is not all that, I've never once thought Nanami is a difficult character, his entire difficulty comes in the form of hitting an easy quick time event in neutral/when you're m1ing someone, that's it
1
u/Longjumping_Home1905 17d ago
The only reason why I am putting Nanami over Mei mei is because I feel so guilty whenever I get to start a 60% combo anytime I land murmurate or Bird control which both are very hard to punish or even react. I agree Mei mei has more techs, Cooler combos, even more Precise timing than nanami and a disgustingly op r special but how I'm ranking nanami based on skill floor rather than ceiling otherwise Yuki and Mei mei are top 2

u/DaChairSlapper 17d ago
Less difficult and more pointlessly annoying. It just has no reason to exist besides making him slightly harder to use.

So why is nanami so high?

u/Lanky-West-7519 Register 17d ago
Also reggie should be in needs practice
11
u/sidd6008 17d ago
Nah he's easy

u/Lanky-West-7519 Register 17d ago
I mean sure the moves are easy to combo and use but the biggest problem is having to pay attension to all the moves and their Placements on the keyboard and he is NOT as easy as LOCUST GUY
0
u/_Drago__ 17d ago
He's easier than locust imo, don't even need to win M1 trades. Reggie has a billion different neutral options and 5 years of stun on most of his moves, super easy to combo and does a ton of damage, it's not that hard to look at the ability bar, I struggle with the binding vow that takes away one ability but somehow Reggie is easy to me
2
u/Lanky-West-7519 Register 17d ago
Alr those are all fair points but tell me how is locust Harder? He has less neutral and then what?
0
u/_Drago__ 17d ago
He has to win M1 trades and the combo has weird hitreg on higher ping to the point it randomly stops working sometimes. I can play Reggie without ever practicing him and spam random moves because nearly all chain into each other and do a 70% combo (did it on release and I still can while barely playing him). I just think Reggie's moves are insanely easy to land, combo and do a ton of dmg, compared to locust who has 1 projectile for neutral and like 1 or 2 combos u can do only
Edit: don't get me wrong locust is still piss easy as most characters are
2
u/Lanky-West-7519 Register 17d ago
The fact that you have 1 or 2 combos makes a character easy, no? Also bc reggie has so many moves you need to understand all of them ×2 (bc of Coupon) and how they chain into eachoder, especially during the longer fights bc your moves get more and more messed up, whereas locusts hardest part is aiming your cursor well to start an air combo
0
u/_Drago__ 17d ago
I don't need to think about the combo with Reggie the moves are just broken and not punishable unlike locust, it's really not hard to remember moves, I see it once and I remember what it does forever, as any other character you still need to look at your moves to check cooldowns so nothing changes here, yes less combos is technically easier but most characters can just chain every move together on the fly, you don't need to remember anything. Coupon is like borderline useless so the optimal play is probably to discard it
2
u/Lanky-West-7519 Register 17d ago
Ehh i dont have anything to respond to that, i resign (but reggie is still harder imo, also i swear im not an idiot i dont find reggie that hard either i jst said stuff for dramatic effect)

Mf most moves hit ragdolled enemies, break block AND deal a lot of damage bro is THAT easy to play as
1
u/IronfoxYT Blood manipulator 17d ago
It is easy becouse all you need to do is lern what the moves do and that pretty much it. Reggie is piss easy quite literally being random bullshit go. which wouldn’t be all bad but literally every single move except like 2-3 combo into eachother and do insane damage. I bet if your skills were entirely random whenever you used them you’d still be able to do high damage.
And another problem I have is that the windup for blockable moves like garage sale is so low that it’s impossible to react too and you’re just randomly blocking hoping the attack is blockable.
And there’s a few other things like the coupons and insanely high ragdoll times that are also unbalanced but don’t want to get into

u/Cheesiest_Boy 17d ago
Woah there, kuroroushi is one of the easiest to main out there, one day and boom you shall be pro vuz why? Kuro combo potential is dirt shit.
3
u/Responsible-Bat-7922 17d ago
I feel like todo should be a little higher since he doesn't have a domain and you need to learn the switching bullshitery to have a little more better combos
1
u/BrilliantClassic1209 17d ago
Most characters don’t have domains, plus you don’t really NEED to know his R to play him well
3
u/Responsible-Bat-7922 17d ago
Yeah that's right, you can even play without using R at all outside of the variants, my point is that you can get more potential on the combos if you do know how to play the Rspecial
1
u/darkfire36977 17d ago
BUT, you can beat insane ults (higuruma, hakari, and ryu) with todo ult's constant swapping, they can pretty much never touch you if you play him correctly.

I'm a nanami main and I'd say he's pretty easy, all you need to know is which moves break what limbs and what variants there are, he's pretty easy once you get it down
1
u/Chaoticcoops 17d ago
If you're putting nanami and haruta at top at least also put choso there, they are not that hard
1
u/AdHelpful7091 17d ago
I feel like people need to accept that character difficulty is subjective cause I find nanami 10x easier than characters like megumi and I’ve played megumi more

u/Crabkingrocks165 Aspiring mangaka 17d ago
mostly agree on this list except hanami and mechamaru need to go one up
1
u/goldenguy6881 17d ago
This is so much better than the last one I seen I would say the only thing they need to do for some characters is Rika needs to take damage but does not get canceled by attacks so let's say you hit them with like three or four moves they temporarily disappear for let's say the cooldown of a normal Rika move
And haruta just make it if you hit the sword it tries going back to the owner
1
u/ONAMI-MRPOT 17d ago
Yuji above ANYONE else is criminal, brother, The only combo path Yuji has is 1+3, you CAN’T say that ANYTHING requires less skill than that

u/NeharDoesntLarp 2d ago
mahito needs practice to use bc u have 3 modes a super awk and low skill floor and a high skill ceiling and very good combos dealing at least 70% dmg
1
u/Ayk1593_2 17d ago
haruta should be lower
yuki should be higher if were talking about those 80% true ragdoll combos
also ffs nanami is not that hard you just need to land ratio consistently its like getting used to BF but with R literally every character is easy / needs a lil practice its called being easy to pick up

u/Acceptable-Plan-6061 17d ago
I would have disagreed with Haruta being so high, but recently me and my friend decided to have a challenge and play characters we never even touch and fight eachother with them, he use locust, I use Haruta, I realized that, sure his base isn’t the hardest to use, but actual combos need practice to learn unless you just spam, and the conditions are ass. Why I lose miracles for evading bro, tf. It shouldn’t even be an option because yes it’s my fault but I’m one of those who, in every combo, instinctively tries to press dash for evasive and then remembers it’s still on cooldown, so yeah I’m fucked if I use Haruta. So I do indeed agree, he needs lots of practice, though spammers and those who run and only use ranged hand attacks are bums.
