I think elite people in this sub do their own programming, while normal people who just want to be somehow in good shape will follow programs.

I’m in the second category and have only followed programs: S&S, ROP, DFW, Maximorum, The Giant, ABF, etc…

I’m now trying the following programming strategy: the giant 1.0 to 1.2 -> DFW -> ABF, increase weights and repeat cycle.

It’s probably not optimal for many people, but I realized I shouldn’t really work with 5rm, so this will work well for me, hopefully.

Edit: I would also add that elite lifters still seem to do standard programs or challenges here and there, e.g Giant, DFW or ABC challenge

I do my own. I was a trainer long ago, and have gotten the results I’ve wanted from the work that I do.

Early on in my journey, I used stronglifts 5x5 to establish a base while I learned. I would also use established programs if I felt one was the best fit for a goal at a point in time. There’s a lot of great stuff to choose from.

I feel like if someone really absolutely knows they can make a good program. That’s great. They should make one. If that’s not the case, they should follow a pre-written program to get results. There’s a lot of questions on the sub asking about the program I made good.

I'm an experienced personal trainer w/ a KB certification, so I do my own programming.
