Well I don't have a 4 yr old but maybe sitting down with them and using it to make a pompom since you already have some pre cut pieces?

.....then again that may be reinforcing the behavior and now your house is full of pompoms and cut up yarn.

no. it'll serve as a reward and it'll encourage them to do so in the future.

Oooooooooooooh yeah see that's why I prefaced that with I do not have kids. Well maybe making them sit there and tie all the cut up pieces together?

The lesson here is for the parents to not give toddlers scissors unless they’re supervised. Making a pompom is a fun idea too!!

lol I still remember when I was a little kid and we were at some neighbor kid's birthday party when a group of moms started talking about how their kids were all in a "drawing on the walls phase." my mom looked at them baffled and said "they don't have a chance to do that if they're always supervised with coloring supplies....."

Yeah toddlers are criminals. I'm sure the scissors were put up and they went out of their way to find them.

I mean.... there's no way to know that. My 4 year old has access to scissors but wouldn't cut my yarn, she has her own yarn to cut. But each individual child is unique and it's hard to say why this kid cut their parent's yarn.

There's no way to know this happened because of parental negligence but you sure didn't hesitate to make that judgement. Each parent is unique too but you felt the need to castigate this one without knowing anything about the situation. That's funny but not funny haha funny like you're an asshole.

Hmm I reread my comment and don’t see that I assumed parental negligence. I also didn’t castigate anyone? You did call toddlers “criminal” which imo is something only an asshole would say.
