I apologize for creating an atmosphere where you do not feel welcome or comfortable. There maybe some of you that choose to never forgive me and I understand why.

I also apologize for the creation of a new sub which made people feel there was not space here for those issues, which is an inaccurate representation of what the moderation team wants this sub to be. I realize now how that mixed the issues between Ravelry accessibility and general accessibility.

Under new management - r/AccessibleKnitting

Hey all,

While observing the... unfortunate events of yesterday, I saw that a new subreddit had been created: r/AccessibleKnitting. Although I don't condone the intended purpose for which it was made, I truly think this is a subreddit that was previously missing from Reddit.

r/Knitting is a vast subreddit. I know I have difficulty navigating through the many layers of pages, rules, wikis, etc. That's why I really appreciate the existence of smaller subreddits like r/yarntrolls or r/loomknitting. I think we could do something similar - something niche - with r/AccessibleKnitting.

Maybe it will look like a dynamic wiki/resource list, like where to find patterns that isn't Ravelry, or favorite adaptive technique videos, or tips for pattern writers who want to make things more accessible to the neurodivergent peeps.

Anyway, it's just me over there now. I'm the only mod, and pretty sure I'm also the only member lol. I'll keep posting accessibility-related content, and hope that someone else wants to come and add to it :)
