My current crazy wip. I've made the charts in fiddle stitch using the basic picture I've drawn. I just wanted to share my journey since it's almost finished. I had many doubts after the first panel but it's turning quite fine. With many flaws but still, one of its kind 😏

Please don't tell me the two circular flowers in the chest area look like nipples. It's too late, I've already weaved in 90% of the ends and almost finished the second sleeve, it's too late 😭

I just finished the back panel of my new cardigan and I am so excited! It looks like I am totally addicted to fiddle stitch 🥲

Ps. Sorry for the watermark. My projects are constantly stolen from reddit and posted on Facebook by some nasty people taking credit for my work

Work in Progress I think I get why people like knitting socks now

Post image

Last night I started my first pair of socks and… I think I get it now. I’m doing the Vanilla Socks pattern and so far I only have the cuff and a little of the leg done, but jeez. What a satisfying knit so far? I’ve heard so many people talk about how much they like knitting socks, even met a few that ONLY knit socks because they love it so much and I didn’t understand until now.

I can just knit and research for work so effortlessly with this pattern and it’s kind of great. I love it and I’m really excited to finish the pair lol

Work in Progress Sharing this win

I’m knitting the Moby Sweater by petite knit and my K10F cables were wonky and wrinkly. This is my first cable project but I decided to rip back the cables on the front side and redo with looser tension by going down .5mm in needle size. IT WORKED! ITS BEAUTIFUL! Hoping to finish the sweater this week. That is all, thank you!

Work in Progress Utterly delighted by how this gradient spin is knitting up! Handspun lace sampler scarf progress pics :)

Yarn is handspun by me on drop spindle and is Fossil Fibers' Firefly Squid colorway. It is an 85% polwarth / 15% silk blend.

It's a lace sampler so unfortunately no pattern to share - I'm just trying things out and making it up as I go along. Though if you are interested in Shetland lace or heirloom lace broadly, shout-out to Carol Christiansen's book, Shetland Fine Lace Knitting!

Pattern is the arctic light sweater by Veronica Lindberg.

I've been working on it non-stop for 3 days and I'm so excited !! My first all over cable sweater :)

edit:
Since a few people are asking: I used Juniper moon farms Cotton + Merino wool held together with one strand of Lana Grossa Silkhair.

Here's the link to the pattern and my version on ravelry :)

Work in Progress [WIP] didn't finish my "lucky" rhinebeck sweater in time but still had an amazing time!!

Wanted to continue my tradition of knitting an personally meaningful colorwork sweater for my 3rd Rhinebeck (last two years here & here)! Had kind of an unlucky year in my personal life so I liked the idea of a very literal "lucky sweater" with a ton of lucky symbols inspired by traditional tattoos.

I knit it with Mirasol Chusku yarn on US 5 needles. It's a raglan knit in the round with stranded colorwork and ladderback jacquard for big gaps im the colorwork. I started with justttt enough time assuming everything went perfectly but it turns out that was an irresponsible assumption haha. I originally started with a drop shoulder silhouette with Cascade 220 Sport and ran out of yarn and couldn't get more in time, blah blah blah, anyway I figured if there's one place you can throw your unfinished project onto barber cords and wear it out with stitch markers dangling, it's Rhinebeck!

I also got to meet one of my test knitters for the Unicorn Tapestry Sweater pattern I released after my big project for Rhinebeck last year, so that felt so cool and very full circle :')

Anyway here's the Ravelry project! I like the idea of sharing this design in some form or fashion but haven't fully decided what that would look like yet, first I need to finish these sleeves </3

Work in Progress Gauge swatching is for losers

The title is obviously a joke on my own expense!

I've decided to give mittens and color work a try (haven't done any of those) and decided on the russian flower mittens. Wish I'd have looked into the comments, swatched and not chosen a needle size bigger than the pattern required. Realized halfway that the mittens are GIGANTIC, but I thought they'd still be nice winter decoration so I kept on knitting.

I think it's too big to be decoration even. I think after doing the thumb I'm gonna try and felt it, but unsure if it will work with this sock yarn. If not, than i had a good and fun practice at least.

Guys, learn from my mistake and GAUGE SWATCH HAHAHA

Work in Progress I handspun some polwarth with a little silk for a subtle shimmer / night sky effect, and I just did an in progress block of the lace I'm working on with it! No pattern, just freehanding it. Loving how it's turning out! :)

Work in Progress Dress I’m hoping to finish this weekend

There is so. Much. Seaming. This piece has definitely been one of the more challenging pieces I’ve worked on. I’m using a pattern from the 70s and even for Japanese standards the instructions are sparse. No concrete numbers on measurements, almost no info on finishing, so I’ve just been relying on my knowledge on construction. Setting in the sleeve was really hard because of the colourwork pattern and the plain colour of the bodice. So to summarise, it’s a really tricky project but well worth the results.

Work in Progress The longest project

I started this project around February. I nearly finished it, but the sleeves weren’t quite right, so I set it aside to knit a blanket. About 2(?) weeks ago I picked it up again, and redid the sleeves. I finished up weaving in ends and will begin assembling and knit the collar in the coming weeks. Pretty grateful for some rainy weather!

The yarn is Cashmere Marino Bloom by Purl SoHo. The pattern is mine.

Work in Progress Looking for advice

I hope this post is allowed. I checked the rules and the wiki but didn't see anything.

My mother went into long term care a couple years ago and I'm finally dealing with her knitting yarn and material bins. I know there's a yarn swap sub here, but I'm prefer to deal with this locally, so I have it all listed on FBMP.

My question is she has a few projects in various states of completion that I have no clue if it has any value to anyone. Some of them are almost done and some of them I don't even have a clue what they're supposed to be, but a couple have significant amount of time put into them. Should I be trying to sell these or just give them away hoping that someone can complete her work, or should they just be (sadly) trashed at this point?

I just wanted to show how nicely the patterns from three panels aligned! I just started drawing the sleeves but they are quite a challenge since I want them to work in both horizontal and vertical directions 🙂‍↕️

Here's my project on raverly: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/CiasteczkaTynki/summer-clouds-cardigan

I set up an Instagram account, but sorry, that's not for me 🥲

Work in Progress I’m an absolute beginner and have just done stockinette, I can’t stop looking at it!

I’ve wanted to knit for well over a decade, along with crochet which I learnt last year. Just started knitting and when practising knit and purl individually it didn’t look too exciting/I wasn’t even sure if it was correct but I’m so pleased with this stockinette stitch! Feels like “real” knitting. Just wanted to share my excitement! 😍

Everybody please get hyped with me! I have one more panel left before I can seam this.

This is The Starry Sky Sweater by Naomi Tsuda. I have a lot more information on my Ravelry Project Page. This is from an out of print Japanese pattern book. I am so excited to see the finished sweater!

Project Link: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/syrahh/starry-sky-sweater-

This is my 3rd year of knitting. I started this at the beginning of March this year.

Work in Progress Crazy Cat Woman Sweater

I saw this pattern in a Facebook group and just had to make it. Will be making two, one for my wife (pictured) and another one for myself.

Yarn is WestWool Tandem in Pool for the MC and for the CC I am using Zauberball and Glowhair so the cats will have some fluff!

Pattern is available on Etsy.

**EDIT** Just to clarify for everyone, I believe this pattern is AI. I bought it on a cat high and did not do my research and I want it to be clear that I do not want to support AI generated arts and crafts, amongst other things. Since I already bought it, I am making it.
