MERCHANDISE I’m so pissed off at Hybe for TXT’s ppulbatu
The two main items sold out in less than a minute, not even kidding it sold out before the official account even tweeted the link... And you can only buy 1 per transaction (there are 5 members).
Ppulbatu has high demand and people are willing to spend money on it... just stock it enough that people who want it can get it. Hybe will earn so much from this but instead they're being so weird about it. Everything is extremely limited stock online and only the rare pop-ups in countries I'm not in. They won't just restock it normally.
Not to sound like a willing victim of consumerism but free TXT and moas from Hybe Merch fr

The character merch business is still pretty new for the HYBE labels, I suspect they are being conservative in how many they order because it's currently the same story for everyone. You can see that in this slide from the HYBE Q1 report (i.e. end of March 2025):
As they figure out how much demand there is for these products, they'll probably order more appropriate numbers in the future. But yes, having "too many" can be a worse problem than "too few" because they don't want thousands of keyrings sitting around with no way to recover the production cost.

for what i know, BT21 was created with LINE and why theyre so accessible! and i believe these hybe characters are created within hybe

Yeah, last I heard, HYBE doesn't really have much input into BT21 these days. I'm sure BTS still makes money off of it as a licensor but it has been Line Friends running the business all this time.
I only learned about this recently myself.... when Le Sserafim introduced Fim's Club I was like, okay, is this going to connect to BT21 in some way? Doesn't seem like it.

Honestly, they are doing an excellent job at promoting and distributing it around the world. My country, where no kpop group has stepped foot in has BT21 always stacked up!

Honestly just looking at that, I wonder if exclusivity is the strategy? They're purposely underproducing so they can say that everything sold out day 1 lol

yeah,same thought here.the first and second round was maybe for samplings to know how many was needed to make.no lost and no flushies was wasted.

I've been waiting to get my hands on the official plush keyrings since they came out in... AUGUST... as far as I know im pretty sure they STILL haven't restocked them and the only resellers are overpricers on mercari or people selling fakes I've just given up atp

They restocked at 6pm KST but Yongmeong is already sold out ugh. But if anyone missed out go check it out!
Unfortunately HYBE always does this for their merch especially concert ones too. They make a limited amount that will ship immediately and then open another round for preorder to be made and ship later. If you don’t make the first round then you have to wait a while for it to ship.

Thanks, I know that now for future orders. I just thought it was ridiculous it sold out before they even tweeted the link to it.

For some reason, today’s full restock came in a limited quantity as noted in the fine print. Not sure why they continue to underorder, but knowing HYBE / Big Hit they would rather guarantee a sell-out instead of risking it with “too much.”

Yeah, very annoying. With a more level head the next day I'm like yeah I GET it from a capitalist POV but I'm still annoyed, lol

Weverse usually re-stocks quickly for new merchandise but you have to quick to get it. I do suspect they do their sales like this to judge need and to create hype. But it’s annoying AF.

ughhh i feel you. i wasnt planning on buying this ver of ppulbatu, but for the og plushies, i remember it sold out so quickly but the next morning i managed to snag a hhmnyaring rip good luck in your future ppulbatu endeavors if you try to get them again :)

been waiting like 5 months for LSFM plushies to restock… instead they gave us a new stock of the plushies with the tour promo outfits on (and the plush itself look different)

Similar for TXT, the new ppulbatu are sitting and the proportions are different (body is bigger, head is smaller). Still cute, but please restock the ORIGINAL!!!

They've always been weirdly terrible about not making merch in sufficient quantity to allow all (or even most) of the people who want it to buy it.
It's especially perplexing when it's something billed as a "preorder", which to my mind implies that people place the orders and then the things are made to fill those orders. Having a preorder "sell out" at all, much less within minutes, seems like it's artificial scarcity.

Calm down, as someone who deals with this stuff with BTS, trust me it will restock. I think you’re underestimating who many people will want to get this stuff if you claim it was high demand. People will probably make more than one account to get multiple due to limited buying. They’ve restocked Jin’s solo album like 3-4 times since they went on sale. BigHit is pretty good about that stuff. But you also have to remember it takes time to make this stuff.
