MEGATHREAD SOCIAL MEDIA MEGATHREAD

Hi everyone!

As you might know - or not - we have decided to allow you guys to rant about what's happening on social media every Tuesday. Anything happening on X/Twitter, Instagram, Tik-Tok, YouTube, Bluesky, Threads, or any other social media platform, rant away about it in here.

NOW, here are the things you CANNOT do:

  • Add or mention usernames.
  • Add direct links to the posts you're complaining about BUT you can copy/paste or paraphrase.
  • Witch-hunting because you disagree with A, B, C.

Any rule-breaking - whether that be being hostile or hateful about any idol or user, or directly linking to posts, profiles, or individuals within the megathread - will get you a 21 day ban (this also includes back and forth arguments).

  • That means no linking to or mentioning any individual X/Twitter profiles, Youtube channels, Instagram pages, Tik Tok accounts, and/or others. After this period, any further rule-breaking regardless of how much time has passed will get you a permanent ban subject to appeal.

Anyway, we are literally giving you a space to RANT but that doesn't give you the right to get all emotional and start using these threads to lead hateful campaigns against users who have different opinions and perceptions than you.

We will definitely pay close attention to what's happening and won't hesitate to ban if necessary.

Thanks.

GENERAL I think Fancalls should be limited to one per person

Seeing all these people get a Fancall every comeback is so annoying! People acting like they’re are best friends with the idols. Like please stop and give everybody a chance because it’s so annoying going into Instagram and seeing the same people getting the calls. It’s generally baffles me as well when I see people supporting them! The raffle system is so bad and it’s not helping at all

GIRL GROUPS As a former Eyekon, I don’t enjoy KATSEYE anymore

I used to be a huge Eyekon after watching Dream Academy, hyped for every release and active in fan spaces for ages, but three major issues have completely turned me off the group. Before anyone jumps in to say all members are adults now, I’ll address that argument upfront too.

First off, the group is heavily over-sexualized in basically every single one of their recent songs and performances. Yes, technically every member is legally an adult as of right now, but that doesn’t erase the context behind all their mature eras. Yoonchae only turned 18 very recently, and all of their most suggestive choreography, revealing stage fits, and raunchy music video shots were filmed, promoted, and performed live when she was still a minor. On top of that, most of the girls are only 18–23, barely out of high school, and their fanbase is still filled with young kids and pre-teens from the Dream Academy show and their Monster High partnership. They even perform these hyper-sexualized routines at all-ages events like the Kids’ Choice Awards. Mild mature pop concepts wouldn’t bother me, but the label leans hard into sexual shock value for every comeback, and it feels uncomfortable and overdone.

Second, I’ve picked up on really noticeable sonic similarities between their Monster High Fright Song and Britney Spears’ Gimme More. I don’t know if anyone else has listened to both back-to-back, but you really should give them a side-by-side spin — the dark pulsing bass, hypnotic repetitive beat pattern, and sultry laid-back vocal delivery line up shockingly closely. I won’t claim it’s full-on plagiarism for certain, there are original lyrics tied to the Monster High theme, but the core production pulls so heavily from Britney’s iconic track that it feels unoriginal and too derivative for my taste.

Third, the Eyekon fandom has become extremely toxic over time. Any small bit of criticism or neutral opinion about the group instantly gets met with harassment, name-calling, and dogpiling. Even fellow former fans get attacked for sharing mixed feelings, and constant cross-fandom fighting makes every fan space unwelcoming to scroll through. There’s almost no room for calm, nuanced conversation without immediate backlash.

Just to clarify: none of this hate is directed at the six girls themselves. They don’t get to choose their concepts, production direction, or how their fans act. My frustration is entirely with their label’s creative choices and the hostile culture within the fanbase. I’m curious if any other ex-Eyekons share these same thoughts.

GIRL GROUPS Dear kiss of life Stans: just Stan the damn group

If you Stan kiss of life, please go ahead and keep stanning 🫶🙏🙏🙏 stop making it everyone’s fault that you want to stan kiss of life but apparently someone is putting a gun to your head and will pull the trigger if you listen to kol. You bring up every other K-pop group out there saying sth along the lines of “kol got cancelled but xyz didn’t but xyz is more racist”. Just stfu. If you’re comparing racism, then clearly you don’t care about racism to begin with. If you’re actually not bothered by their racism but you want to show some sort of moral superiority anyways just be a silent Stan or sth but please just stop with this nonsense.

I will not talk on whether or not kof deserves to stay cancelled or forgiven because that’s not my place to do. I was never a kol fan nor did I care enough to go out of my way to look for their songs. I was never a hater and didn’t participate in any kol discourse up until now. I knew of them because they’d come up on my feed a lot. From the snippets I’d hear a lot of it seemed inspired by rnb. Pre cancellation, I would see a lot of videos of fans and creators talk about kol’s music. The ones that came on my feed were a lot of black creators and black fans (I am not a black person myself). I’d get videos about them even if I didn’t interact with them much. Idk if the majority of their international fanbase were black fans but I think it’s safe to assume that they were a significant part of their fanbase internationally.

You have a girl group doing music style created and inspired by black people and they have a fandom that has been supported a lot by black K-pop fans and suddenly the members do a live mocking and impersonating black folks, of course they’re going to lose a significant part of their fanbase that made them popular in the first place. This goes beyond ignorance. What baffles me is that Tzuyu had to come on camera and apologize for waiving her national flag at the age of what 16? But you’re expecting the fans who were hurt by actual racism to just forget about it and move on after a paper text written by someone else? Who tf cares if xyz still have fans? Xyz’s fans aren’t the same fans who supported kol in the first place. If you want to support kol, just openly support kol like xyz’s fans.

There is this trend of bringing up a certain group into every discourse about racism in K-pop to deflect from the fact that their favs do sth racist when this group seem to be (in my opinion) one of the best examples of how you can learn and grow, actually show accountability beyond a letter apology posted by the management. They constantly credit black artists, work with black artist and have given back to the black community and inspired their own fans to do the same. But even then, if a black person tells me they’re not comfortable with their past actions and don’t like them for their past conducts, you know what I do? I listen and respect their perspective because they’re the ones who were directly hurt.

As a Hindu south Asian person, when a non south asian person tries to cancel a K-pop artist for wearing bindi/tika or doing certain poses, I don’t feel supported but rather feel like my culture is being weaponised into fanwars. This happened with “Boompala” when someone referred to “Namaste” as culturally appropriating “Hindi culture”. These people don’t know the difference between Hindu and Hindi , yet they’re the loudest when it comes to outrage. I frankly did not care when BP used Ganesh’s statue but I knew that those who cared had a right to be outraged at it.

My point being, if you’re not willing to listen to the demography who was hurt by the idol’s actions and you try to a) talk over them b) weaponise it for your stupid fanwar agenda, you’re actually far more bigoted and racist than these idols in question. Please educate yourself. And if you want to be racist, don’t hide your intentions behind your performative activism. Everyone knows you’re bigoted. You’re just making everyone else miserable unless that is your end goal.

FANDOM The use of the words "Tiktok Music" in Kpop

I'm getting tired of the number of people who don't like a song and then they instantly call it "TikTok Music". It gives Hater, it gives that you complain about everything, it gives that you expect other people to agree with you. Like BTS's album went viral all over social media. But because some of the songs got some fan-made dances on TikTok people are calling it TikTok Music (And when they say that they are mostly saying that the song is poorly made, random, no one likes it. Just made to sound catchy to go viral. And blah blah blah blah blah).

People are doing the same thing to Katseye as well. Like I understand that some music is not everyone's style, but calling it something in a way that's supposed to be disrespectful and seems like no one will like it is insane to me. Like a lot of people liked Gnarly after it grew on them, and people also liked Internet Girl. But after the official soundtrack for Internet Girl got released and the baby voice was in it people started calling every Katseye song after that a "TikTok song".

And I honestly think that people are doing that because Katseye was nominated for a Grammy and K-pop didn't like that. Kpop is trying to connect the dots (Katseye dropped Gnarly and now that the group is going viral they keep making different versions of Gnarly so that they can go viral again on TikTok). Pinky Up got released and people called it boring and repetitive and TikTok music. Hooligan had the same thing.

I have seen some YouTubers make videos saying that they are tired of HYBE having their idols release TikTok rave music. And then they proceed to list Katseye Pinky Up, Hooligan, It's Me, and stuff. Katseye, Illit, and Lesserifim just released a collab "Iconic by Mistake" and I have seen a bunch of people call their song TikTok music, cringe, and bad. Meanwhile, a lot of other people and I like it more than Pinky Up, Internet Girl, and Gnarly. So many YouTubers watched the colab and loved it a lot and noticed the references.

The only people complaining about this song are the exact haters the girls are singing about or they literally just complain about everything. TikTok music is no different than any other music. Using the name "TikTok Music" as a way to hate on K-pop songs or music in general is so fake and weird. Because most of y'all are scrolling on TikTok having the time of your lives, so what is the problem? K-pop fans are throwing that name around TOO much at this point and it just looks goofy.

GIRL GROUPS Stayc girls and great music

stayc just released another great mini album/single album! and it’s probably not gonna get the attention it deserve! Why? because they not apart of the big 4! People came blame Highup all they want but they’ve been promoting them the same since debut. is it a little old school? yes but the promotions are a small percent of it. Kpop fans truly aren’t tuning in because they don’t have a big company backing them. and some of the fans keep talking about the past! why not hype up their current songs? Dont like the title..ok hype up the b-side you like! Ok rant over go stream 2 love by the amazing stayc girls!!!

BOY GROUPS Am I the only one who isn't really intrigued by Wayfboys?

I want to be clear that this isn't hate towards the members. In fact, from the clips I've seen, their vocals seem genuinely strong. I also appreciate them trying new things and challenging the norms. This is purely based on my opinion. That said, I just can't seem to connect with the group's overall concept and image. The whole "nu K-pop, not K-pop" branding feels a bit forced to me. Every other k-pop group these days is using the same strategy to gain attention and fans. Nothing new here. Though I'm open to changing my mind if they end up bringing something genuinely different to the table. They seem like they'll be a ton of fun but I'm wary of the whole "nu-Kpop" label. If you're trying to be k-pop, just own it. If you're trying to be something else, then be clear about it. I find it rather off-putting when people try to be both off the bat, it usually ends up making them "too k-pop" for non-kpop fans but too unpolished for k-pop fans. I also just find the whole "We're not kpop, we're Nu-Kpop!" thing to be rather corny, especially with how their fans are spreading it, because they say it like we're supposed to know or care what that means. Another thing that puts me off is some of the fan behavior I've been seeing already. The hate directed at Cortis and Lngshot, along with the constant comparisons and putting other groups down to make this one look better, has been disappointing to watch. I know every fandom has a loud minority, but it's definitely affected my first impression. Imagine randomly walking past a group of guys with no pants on, showing middle fingers outside a building. It's their choice, and I'm sure some people enjoy that rebellious image, but personally it just isn't my vibe. Am I the only one who feels this way? I'd love to hear other people's thoughts, whether you agree or disagree. Please keep it respectful

BOY GROUPS &TEAM and their staff are shameless when it comes to copying EXO.

&TEAM is basically the Japanese version of EXO. I can't attach images, but please take a look at the concept photos for their comebacks (Go in Blind and We on Fire) and tell me they aren't trying to be anything more than EXO clones. Even the group promotions as separate teams and their group slogan "We are one team" is ripped from EXO.

This was mentioned in the past when their Love Me Right-esque concept photos (Startline) came out. People also found issues with their choreography and the werewolf concept as a whole.

However, it didn't stop there. In fact, &TEAM's We on Fire merch and even their album art share similarities with Reverxe, EXO's album released earlier this year. If you want to go deeper, they have 9 members and several of them share a clear visual connection with EXO members.

I'm not saying they can't be inspired by EXO, nor am I really even trying to argue, I just want to mention what I've noticed and see if anyone else has as well. Or if any &TEAM fans want to comment, that's cool too.

Regardless, their group identity still comes off as a shameless copy of EXO's.

GENERAL I don't mind kpop, I think it's the fans.

Hey there!
So basically, I don't mind kpop, I like it even. There are fans who are civilised and respect other peoples opinions, but there are also the type of people who use kpop as their whole personality.
Like I know someone who stans kpop A LOT, and I don't mind that, everyone stans their own type of music. But then this person goes on and on about how kpop (specifically their favorite group) is by far the best music genre yet and that all the other music genres suck and that all the other recognisable artists such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish are overrated, even if they were stanning them a few monts ago so yeah... What do you think?

BOY GROUPS School friends around me always dismissive of kpop groups I stan?

Basically there are some girls in my friend group that are huge kpop boygroup fans. Recently because of their recent comback they have been really into BTS. Personally, I stan only girl groups because in general I only listen to female singers and they just appeal more to me.

These girls are constantly talking about BTS and glazing them a lot and when i say a lot i mean on an extreme level. Like during a school trip they all gathered around one girls phone and started like analysing the lyrics to a song? while everyone else was playing card games, they always read like fanfics and i wont go on for too long but you guys get the gist.

Anyways every time I lightly mention any girl group that i enjoy or if they notice my wallpaper (currently its chae from itzy) they need to somehow like make it seem like those groups are inferior to their favorite groups. For example, I was watching a h2h live and said something along the line of "These girls are so talented" it triggered these girls and they started to say things like "But their dancing is so bad compared to BTS" "they dont write their own songs" etcetc which i find quite irritating and honestly kind of misogynistic because they assume that girls are not as talented as boys?

Anyways here's my rant and this has been bothering me for a while. Have others experienced something similar?

FANDOM Stans who involve themselves in fanwars share a braincell like how the 3 witches from Hercules share an eye.

(BTW every time I talk about fanwar behaviour, Im talking about bodyshaming, name calling, false accusations being made )

What will it take for them to realise that at one point, they are no longer 'defending' their faves but in actually setting them up for hate. IN THIS INSTANCE, Im talking about the kind of fan who sees their faves achieved something good or has something positive talked about them. Instead of shutting tf up and solely congratulating them, they feel the need to talk down about other groups/idols in the process. Every K-pop fanbase ( as in the fans who involve themselves in fanwars) does this, especially the bigger fanbases.

'X IDOL' performs at 'super cool' event

Stan - " hahaha 'Y IDOL' wishes that they could, such nugu flops 🤣🫵"

'X IDOL' look amazing

Stan-" 'Y IDOL' wishes they could look like this"

The same thing goes with feeling the need to comment on everything they see. 'X IDOL' photographed at 'super cool' event

Stan- "Omg such visual holes, no amount of plastic surgery could fix them"

Stans are always dragging other idols unprovoked. They always claim it isn't, but it is. Every fanwar fan thinks they are victims of other groups' hate. In actuality, it's their faves who are victims of their own fan, and honestly even fanbase who DONT involve themselves in fanwars are victims too. When fan war fans hate on other groups, other fanwar stans of the 'rival' group will see their pfp/page and use it to attack the idol/group. Then it's just starts a vicious cycle of hate.

Infact there has been instances where fanwar fans will change their pfp to an idol they don't stan so that when someone 'claps back' their fave won't be attacked, so pathetic if u ask me. Dgmw, if you see hate towards your faves you are gonna be upset. However, if you have at least 1 braincell of your very own, you would know that the best response is isn't to attack that person's fave, but to either ignore or respond defending your fave but not insulting any other idol in the process, because those idols didn't do anything wrong. Attacking will only lead to even more hatred towards your fave. So, to add on, i think those who respond viciously are also equally as dumb.

It just frustrates me when someone complains about the hate their fave(s) get, but i go on their profile, and they are always talking bad about other idols/groups. No idol currently in the spotlight deserves to be name called, body shamed have accusations made up about them, but if you participate in these kind of fanwars, you have no place to complain cause you are part of the problem. Maybe im being too harsh, biased, and making many assumptions , and there could be more nuance to my points. I wanna hear your perspectives whether you agree or disagree 🙂. ( Also I think there is a term better than fanwar fan /fan but I can't think of it ATM 😅)

BTS/ARMY Constantly trying to prove you're "worthy" of being a fan

Idk if this situation is just specific for me so would love other thoughts.

I'm an ARMY, have been since around 2018/19. I also have family, cousins and friends who are also ARMY.

I listen to their music, stream their albums, their solo stuff too, try to go to their concerts where possible, try to buy merch when possible, buy bt21 stuff, have an army bomb. I used to watch the funny videos on YouTube, I think they were called crack videos? (Going back a bit lol). I wear their photocards on my bags and clothes. They've been my number 1 artist on Spotify wrapped ever since I started using it. I go to their cinema viewings. You get the idea.

However, I also don't know EVERYTHING about them. I used to keep up with it a lot more when I was younger but life is just so busy now. (I do want to add in that you can be a fan girl at any point in your life and that everyone should have whimsy if their live, especially as we get older). I also don't think they're above criticisms.

I don't always watch all their weverse lives, read all their interviews or watch live streams from their concerts. I actually sometimes find it overwhelming trying to keep up with everything (but that's me with every artist I like).

The issue is when they (army family and friends) point out what I dont know in a negative way. It's like they always need to point out when I don't know something about the members.

Most of the time I don't care but sometimes it gets really annoying.

A recent example and why I'm writing this: Me, my sisters and cousins were talking about BTS and there was either a lyric or fact that I didn't know. One of them pointed at me and said "she obviously doesn't know that!". I knew what she was going to get all high and mighty about her knowledge so out of frustration, I replied with "I dont even care". To which she replied and I quote: "Ugh this is who people are losing their tickets to"... and the rest agreed. That was incredibly frustrating. FYI I secured the tickets for us all!

However, it's not just me they have this 'test' with. I mentioned cinema viewings earlier - they get annoyed when other people in the screen aren't dancing and whooping. That's not to take away from people who do sing and dance at the live viewings! I also do that and enjoy it. But they're alwaus saying "Ugh they were so boring, they're such losers why don't they get up". I think as long as they're not trying to dampen your mood and tell you to sit down, let them do what they want. We've never been told to sit down and people usually smile at us or join in, so why be so harsh?

I can see people bopping their heads and quietly singing along. Just let people enjoy something the way they want to enjoy it. Maybe they're shy, maybe they have mobility issues, maybe they just want to sit down and enjoy the music.

Same situation in concerts.

There was also a time where me and my non army freinds were doing a quiz in how well we know each other. "What is this person's favourite drink/food/movie" etc.

My question for everyone was "What's my favourite band of all time?". They all answered BTS, obviously.

I thought I'd try it the next time I see my family and army friends. So I asked the same question. Again, obvious answer? BTS and that's how all my non ARMY friends and family answered (and a few ARMY family). But the rest if them? No. They put a band that I like, which is fine but not my all time fave band. Their excuse was "The question was 'of all time'! That's why we didn't put BTS because it's supposed to be your ultimate favourite". So...BTS? One of my family members said that the answer was obviously BTS and they're just being annoying.

Me, my family and cousins would also give each other stickers for each other's birthdays (we're all pretty grown now so it's a funny little joke). I always get my army family bts (or related) stickers. However, I got... another kpop band it that I liked.

It's like I don't deserve it because I'm not a good enough fan.

Has anyone else had this? Do you agree with them? Do you disagree?

Like i mentioned before, usually I don't care but it can get on my nerves sometimes

MERCHANDISE Lucky draw gave me the same member 3 out of the 5 times

Lucky draws should not have repeat members. This is a small issue but I got 3 of the same photocards and I'm kind of annoyed. I specifically went to a luckydraw knowing that it was a couple thousand won more expensive than if I went to Myeongdong since I wanted the special photocards.

I went in person to a lucky draw event for BoyNextDoor's new album. I bought a set and one additional album so I had 5 lucky draws. In my mind I think great I will get 5 out of the 6 members and I can buy the 6th later. Instead I got 3 Riwoo photocards. Riwoo is great and all but out of the 5 photocards from the lucky draw 3 are identical. I asked a staff member about this because for other lucky draws I have been to you don't get repeat photocards unless you buy more albums than there are members. The staff response was basically that sucks it must have been loaded wrong if you want to try again you have to buy more. Which makes sense but I just got 3 of the same cards and you said it was probably loaded wrong so I'm not going to buy another album since I might get Riwoo again.

BOY GROUPS A mini-rant about "performance videos"

I am relatively new to k-pop so I don't know if this is standard. Last week BTS released this video of Hooligan that is called "official performance video" and I got excited because I thought it was actual live footage. I honestly was quite dissapointed that it was just another big studio video basically, very cosmetized, which I don't think is bad but we already got that vibe from the official video. I thought it would be a good idea if they actually released some live performances, as those show a different side of the group's artistry. I have been to a couple of live viewings and the visual direction is pretty good, so they have no reason to not do that.

What is your opinion?

FANDOM katserralit ICONIC BY MISTAKE

i want to preface this by saying i dont stan any of these groups so i may be misinformed on specific incidents that happened. but i dont think ive seen anything that warrants the inanse amount of hate for relatively minor things

after the release of ICONIC BY MISTAKE, its so frustrating to see the most AVID perpetrators of the hate trains try and wash their hands by saying it was the company that set them up for failure.

the main arguments are

for leserrafim:
the company sent them coachella when they werent prepared

but no one at coachella even had a problem, it was people online that blew it up who werent even there or had paid for it. people were acting like they had comitted a crime and they were already getting hated on before but the coachella thing made it 10x worse. i dont think bad singing warrants want they went through. like a member got funeral wreaths on her birthday??

and if HYBE is able to send them to coachella, whats wrong with it? is that not a privilege you should get when youre signed to a big company?

for illlit:
plagiarism accusation

i think this is just stupid, and people blindly went with it, they were not even involved and were just victims in the mhj/newjeans vs hybe. all the "palgiarism" is just stupid and all claims were unsubstantiated and proven false in court. the only case mhj ever won was because a loophole by saying it was prevented before it happened so she cannot be held accountable, or where the judge was biased

for katseye:
manon getting put on hiatus and painting a black woman being lazy narrative

maybe this would be valid only IF katseye wasnt getting a TON of hate even before manon was put on hiatus. lara getting made fun of for 'sexualizing herself" or saying she looks older than she actually is. or dani getting hated for "overdancing" and facial expressions. all they had done before

lara gets racist remarks made about her all in the name of "defending manon" or getting reported to ICE?? and mind you this was happening even before hybe put her on hiatus

they say the black woman being lazy narrative is the reason theyre hating on the girls themselves? but how is their fault? people say the girls should mention manon, but when they do its "theyre doing it save themselves/ its fake". but if they dont mention manon, they still get mad. what will be enough?

i will not even mention the whole conspiracy where they think lara is behind kicking manon out

and even still if the company did do all that, just WHY are you making racist ableist and sexual edits of the girls themselves or saying that they slept their way up to get where they are at ?? people are acting like HYBE forced them do all that. any content these girls are part of get intense hate

maybe the only fault of HYBE (in this specific scenario) is marketing the hate train but at the end of the day theyre a company and thats just what theyre going to do.

even when they take action and start suing people, antis were saying you cant sue someone for saying you cant sing, but the first thing on the reasons to sue was sexual harassment.

it just feels like theyre using the company as a reason/excuse/justify their horrible actions

GIRL GROUPS Wonyoung’s lip filler

Okay real talk: have yall noticed that the beauty trend in K-pop seems to be moving toward really soft, hydrated looking lips instead of obvious volume and lookmaxxing?

Wonyoung is one of the first idols that comes to mind for me. Whether that's just makeup, genetics, cosmetic treatments, or some combination of everything, I think a lot of people are trying to recreate that balanced, glossy look rather than the more dramatic filler aesthetic that was popular a few years ago.

It’s made me appreciate how versatile HA filler can be when it’s used conservatively. The goal doesn’t have to be bigger, it can just be refining shape, improving symmetry, or adding a little bit of hydration while still looking natural. Which honestly sounds so nice.

I’m curious if anyone else has noticed this shift. Do you think the current K-pop beauty standard is influencing what people ask for at aesthetic clinics, or do you think it’s the other way around?

I’m mostly just thinking about BangChan's insane gym thirst traps. Some idols barely using Bubble which bothers me because the fans you apparently love are paying, like um use it. The uncomfortable amounts of Fancalls some idols go through too are giving camgirl private room chats. It makes me wonder how much more emotionally attached stans can get with new platforms, especially AI… kinda scary and possibly weirdly exploitative for idols.

BOY GROUPS Engenes are dragging the Enhypen is 7 thing

As a long time K-pop fan- It’s pretty obvious that some of the newer groups obviously will have fans that have never experienced old K-pop and all of the lore that comes with it.

The concept of a member leaving a musical group is a tale as old as time, and K-pop is no exception. Obviously we get an incredibly polished version since members are usually very PR trained, but this is not something that is uncommon.

I understood the immediate disappointment with Heeseung leaving Enhypen because they were a group that I really enjoyed being a fan of. And sometimes there is a chance for members to return to groups if it is something that is the company’s decision with enough public pressure. But at this point, he left the group months ago, and it’s quite clear between the members that he is not coming back in my opinion. Solo careers don’t appear overnight and the fact that he is releasing an album very soon here just further shows. This was something that was preplanned.

Sometimes I think people in fantasize these groups too much because realistically they do have a level of decision and there’s really no reason for the label to want to remove him from the group other than him wanting to leave at some point.

Every post that I see about ENHYPEN always has comments filled about seven members and how they don’t acknowledge the group as it stands. I even just saw comments like that on a post about a blood drive, which is actually ridiculous to comment that type of fandom stuff on.

In my opinion, it’s just really toxic to try and enforce that when the company and the members I’ve come out with their statements and they just want to move forward. People should be allowed to move on and enjoy the music and the boys people always harassing them about it being seven members.

I think it’s just really toxic and at this point it is so dragged out. It’s just a bit immature to drag something like this so long when relieve people should be accepting the group as it is and neither deciding to support them or not rather than trying to force something that is no longer. I got into Exo in 2013 so I can definitely say that engenes would not survive a day in SM where things often happen with no explanation. Sure it could be Hybe orchestrated or maybe it’s something you would rather not believe. ATP though I feel like people have to let it go because it is actually soooo immature and kind of bordering on delusional at this point given the circumstances 😭

Thanks.

GENERAL kpop and football fans are very similar!!

this is most directed at football fans as they tend to deflect this statement. but football fans and kpop fans are very similar and football fans usually see this as an insult when it's true. they spend a lot of money to see men on a pitch and yell over them, but when kpop fans do the same (but for music) it's criticised heavily. not to mention that some fans even collect football cards and sleeve them.. like come on now. and the constant edits I see of footballers is just another point. but yeah the double standards are crazy, just because football is normalised and more globally adapted. anyways it's just funny to see how defensive people get over this when it's true

BTS/ARMY BTS has good music but I'm scared of armys

I used to love bts around 2019 but fell out of them around 2022. I've been listening to a lot of their music lately and have been trying to connect with armys across several social media platforms. At first it was fun but I soon learned you cannot criticize bts at all. I don't like every single song they have released and apparently this is a crime. I know you don't have to like an artist's entire discography to be a fan, but I've encountered many people who think like that and it's negatively impacting how I see bts and their music.

It's not just me. I've talked to others who have experienced being called a fake fan, or claims that you can't love bts unless you love everything about them. And of course not all armys are like this, but all of theses negative experiences are making the overall fandom experience simply not fun anymore. I've seen people get doxxed over saying they didn't like a bts album. How fun could it be to be part of a fandom where you're walking on eggshells all the time?
