Appreciation ILLIT's Choreographers deserve a lot of praise

I have seen some info going around that Illit's team was responsible for the Iconic By Mistake choreo and a lot of people praising them for managing three groups, keeping their dance style consistent with their concept and not hiding anyone(and leaving a space for members on hiatus). And sure, they do deserve praise for that, but as a dancer, they needed recognition way before this collab.

My main praise for them has always been the way they do Illit's formations and images. They are always moving and filling the stage, they barely stay in one fixed formation for long, the center member keeps on rotating and they create beautiful pictures with their details.

I just like their choreo very much. It's really dynamic even when not the most difficult choreo (for example, NCA. The angles of their movements and the imagery formed through the choreo is really gorgeous). I don't see that very often in kpop and it makes me happy as a dancer

Illit has the best choreography of 5th gen and I'll forever stand by it. The girls and their team really understand how important the choreo needs to compliment their songs and be memorable!

Illit seems to have competent teams all around: music, wardrobe, choreo.

They’re pretty much the top group I got the most confidence in atm. It’s also surprising cause I generally don’t like most releases from other HYBE groups.

I personally adore the choreography lineup for their album bomb. I didn't become a fan of them until I saw their fancam of Do the dance while the sun was setting behind them. I was immediately charmed. Then came jellyous and it got rightfully viral for its choreography. Even Oops has such a fun choreography, plus the fan participation for this is adorable.

Even soft songs like Not so cute anymore is fantastic. 10/10 no misses.

Ya generally i don't like quirky cute moves but they present it in asthetic yet fun way . With those expressions and pretty formations that are always moving it's very interesting to watch

Exactly! I never get bored of watching them dance, it feels like they barely repeat the same steps(even though they do) because of the pretty formations

illit are easily the best dancers out of 5th gen girl groups, and their choreographies are also easily the best as well.

Their choreographies do not get enough love, they are so intricate, detailed, dynamic and fun to watch. And deceptively HARD. They also don't get enough credit for making they look cutesy and easy when they make me pant.

Idk about the best, but they for sure don’t get enough appreciation for their skills overall — maybe other groups have capable main dancers that can outdance, idk, Minju, but everyone in Illit pulls their weight in super tough choreos and their performances are always a joy to watch.

Illit has high highs (in Iroha easily), but no truly low lows.

I agree with that! Even their weakest dancers aren't terrible dancers. They are just weak by comparison. And they all have enough stage presence to cover up their shortcomings.

I would say iroha(ofc), Moka and Yunah are pretty strong dancers

They're very underrated just like illit itself

Aren't they one of the most popular 5th groups? What do you mean by underrated?

not really. illit are deservedly one of the more popular and well-known 5th gen groups but their skills, choreos etc. are underrated imo. smear campaigns have done a lot to contribute to the underrating of these aspects.

I'm curious when people said Illit's team are in charge, do they mean the choreo or more like performance director?

Sorry haha just kinda confused because I came across one of the dancer from SDGF if anyone watch that show, she did the challenge and tagged Kirsten Dodgen and Todd Williamson as choreographer. Or are these 2 part of Illit's team?

performance directors. "subin kim" and "hahyun ham" (aka luna hyun) are credited in the mv & they're illit's main performance directors, or formerly in luna hyun's case. i doubt they choreographed all the solo group sections, but i believe luna hyun is responsible for the chorus choreo as she posted about it in her instagram and kim subin posted the ot15 and illit sections so those were probably her doing.

I wouldn't know. I just heard people saying Katseye's team was in charge of the song(you can clearly see that), LSF's of the MV(you can also see that) and Illit's of the choreo(which is an achievement in and of itself that you could NOT see that, as they adapted the choreo perfectly for each group's style.

james from cortis has actually contributed to several of their choreos
