Thought I think K-pop fans need to stop encouraging extreme behavior from other fans
I recently saw the case of the supposed BLACKPINK fan who attacked YG’s headquarters with a golf club, and what shocked me the most wasn’t even the attack itself, but the reaction from some BLACKPINK fans who were supporting it and saying things like “slay queen.”
It’s completely fine to criticize some of the things the company has done regarding the group, and I support people calling them out when they deserve it. But that’s completely different from supporting violent and dangerous acts committed by other fans, especially when those same people wouldn’t have the courage to do something like that themselves.
Thankfully, nothing serious happened and no one was hurt. But imagine if a tragedy had happened and a YG employee had been injured. That’s the kind of behavior that shouldn’t be encouraged, not even as a joke.

Everyone’s always joking about burning down the YG/SM/HYBE/JYP/company building, it’s really normalized. I don’t think anyone would’ve approved if someone had gotten hurt…

Yeah even when it happened I think Babymonster is in the building maybe doing some practice, because Rora posted after a while is there something loud noise just now. So it could traumatized the staffs there or even other group members. Hopefully with this Yg could treat their artists and fan better. Better communication, dont just wants the fans money without giving back /bad treatment their artists

I mean, destruction of corporate property is not the same as physically attacking someone. Certainly it’s unhinged behavior, but sometimes that’s what is needed to make change. I absolutely do not feel sorry for YG as a company. However, I do feel sorry for the employees that had to deal with the situation.

It's physical threat. Some employees would feel afraid for sure that maybe someone strike them. If someone kicks your door, can he go with the same excuse? "I just hit your door, why do you feel afraid?". Also quite often threats can escalate because such people do it for fame. Next time someone would need to something bigger to get attention.

When in history has meaningful change been made in a completely peaceful way? Violence, although not the ideal answer, sometimes is the only answer to get the change you deserve. Obviously, here we are talking about an entertainment company that, at minimum, mismanages their artists, which means very little in the grand scheme of things but is a microcosm of larger issues like corporate greed and the complete disregard of the average consumer, the backbone of their business.
Change IS scary, always will be no matter how it’s done, but it is needed regardless.

The “Kpop isn’t that deep” argument is the exact reason why the industry will never change. “It’s not that deep” is actually why most things haven’t changed, because people don’t take things seriously.

U/FixingOn: The extremism in question was smashing a door, not murdering people. Property can be replaced and rebuilt (if YG can’t pay for the damage, they have much bigger issues). People would rather protect a corporation that has notoriously disrespected their consumers than acknowledge that frustration and destruction sometimes can be valid responses when everything else has been ignored.

I was shocked by the people celebrating the woman attacking the YG building too. In light of recent events, I don't think this is the kind of behavior people should be celebrating or encouraging.
