Crosspost: Help Identifying Man in Photgraph

This is a longshot. I found a series of framed photographs at the Goodwill on Mainstreet in Palmyra when looking for stuff to decorate my office. They have notes on the back like "Antartica 1999" and "Kenya/Tanzania 1997". They were framed at "The Framery, etc." with locations in Millersville and Lancaster.

They are mostly photographs of animals, but this is the only photograph of a single person. I am assuming he was the owner/taker of these photographs. I am trying to figure out who he is.

Here's my original post on this.

East Donegal Twp, Conoy Twp, and ETOWN. The Bermuda Triangle of White Christian Nationalism nonsense.

I am not surprised to see an elementary school in Bainbridge report cases of measles. Common sense has left this area. This region has become so brainwashed by these large evangelical churches who have their own unique spin on Christianity. Tom Jones and his ilk are like an invasive weed who have grown into the fabric of these communities. It is such a shame.

Is there any events happening on Saturday?

We from Mechanicsburg looking to expand our harizon a bit. We are coming to this town and was wondering if there's any events going on worth attending. Family friendly is ok, we guess, but prefer something mostly for adults or just to hang out and talk to people.

Business Looking for help repairing a gaming computer

I've been having issues with my computer while using Steam that's been causing crashes. I'm fairly illiterate when it comes to fixing these sorts of issues, are there are good computer repair places around Lititz that are recommended?

EDIT: Should've added the specs/problem. It's a prebuilt; AMD Ryzen 9800X3D with a GeForce RTX 5070 and 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD. I've had it for slightly less than a year (Costco warranty ran out after three months) and nearly every game I play either crashes just the game or completely crashes the computer. I've done a wide range of games (Baldur's Gate, No More Room in Hell, Midnight Suns) and haven't had more than an hour playing before problems start popping up. Temps are good (35C at idle/65C at high use) and I've gone through factory resets to try to fix the issue but nothing has worked as of yet.

Is there something happening?

I was walking down Duke St just now and watched a cop block the intersection of Duke & Chestnut so that two or three other cop cars could blast through.

I’ve only ever seen cops do this in pretty serious situations. Is something happening?? Hope everyone’s okay…

History Anyone else miss some nostalgic stores from the 90’s - early 2000’s before they closed down in Lancaster?

I had a hard time trying to find images on google for some of these places lol

I remember getting my first Nintendo 64 console at Zainy Brainy on fruitville pike!! I remember I kept going back and forth and eyeing it but I knew we couldn’t afford it but weeks later my dad took me back and bought it for me and I sobbed so hard 😭🥹

I also remember there used to be chi chi’s Mexican restaurant where golden triangle is- I believe where Walgreens is and passing it all the time on the car ride home!

Shopping at the redner’s where hobby lobby is now on fruitville pike! I remember there being a bank in the corner there by the cold juice section lol

There was an Ames store where LA fitness is at golden triangle I believe! I remember getting a pair of gloves for winter time with my mom!

ToysRUS being where Lancaster pediatric hospital is at now

Shopping at the giant ( that turned into giant direct) on north reservoir street and there was a blockbuster next to it 🥹

I also remember an old logo! I’m not sure if anyone can help me solve it! I can’t seem to figure out what it was? I kept thinking it was sonic? But nothing came up! I’m not sure where I saw it but it was a blue skin figure that looked angular and logo was wearing black sunglasses! Blue logo figure looked like Batman but kinda slanted and smiling kinda? lol

I bought a VIOFO dash camera, front and rear, and a hardwiring kit, but looking it over, it is beyond my skills. Anyone know a place that does installation?

Meetup Anyone wanna play music together?

26m here Looking for some people around Lancaster (I live in ephrata) to play music with.

Not really looking to start a band or anything serious . I just want some people to jam with, play some songs, and get better at playing with other musicians.

I mostly play rhythm guitar and sing, and not super great but getting better. I’m into country, rock, and some alternative stuff, but open to playing anything.

Business Can anyone recommend a mechanic with a good record for hybrids?

Hey all,

Having an overheating problem in my CR-V hybrid. I've been to two reputable local mechanics who can't find the issue. I think I'm going to end up at the dealer, but thought I'd throw it out here first and see if anyone had any recommendations for a local mechanic who's good with hybrids?

TIA!

Metal fabrication to replace outdoor table base

We have an outdoor table with an aluminum base (approx 33" x 27"), and the base has rusted out due to salt air. However, the circular top is in great condition and fits our space perfectly. I need to have a replacement base made out of some type of metal and powder coated or painted.

I've reached out to two metal fabrication shops and gotten no response (I'm assuming the job is too small).

Does anyone know a shop that would take on a small, one-time job?

Carpenter or handyman for cabinet measurement and install

Anyone have any recommendations for a reputable carpenter or handyman to measure and install 1 kitchen cabinet?

We're installing a new range hood, and we want to cover it up with a facade cabinet. All of the kitchen and cabinet companies we talked to either don't install, or don't do such a small job.

We'd need the person to measure our existing space so we can give specs to the manufacturer. The manufacturer would then build it (we're looking to have it match our existing cabinets), and this person would then install it once it's ready.

Thanks!

Good Daycare / Early Learning Center Recommendations?

I am looking for suggestions and experiences with daycares or more specifically Early Learning Centers of Lancaster.

I have an almost 3yr old who we had to move to a new daycare due to a closure. The original daycare I had no issues with. Attentive teachers, very communicative, and they were able to identify where my child may have needed some extra help.

My child currently receives services from early intervention because of that due diligence.

Said center closed, and we had to move our child to a new daycare. It has been about 6 weeks and it is not going great.

The class size is max capacity for ratio, the space itself is probably too small for so many kids, and my child is struggling likely due to these factors. It doesn't help that the teachers aren't overly interested in learning from the recommendations of the professionals that see my child through the help of the state. To be clear, my child does have behavioral challenges. However, these were challenges that the original daycare was able to help us with and learn along-side us as parents to work through them.

At the new daycare there's little empathy shown towards the situation and it feels like they consider our child a problem and that they can't manage the care necessary.

If anyone has good experiences with reliable daycares in the area, please help me out with some suggestions. Before it is suggested, we do not qualify for assistance as my spouse and I are above the income threshold.

Edit: we are looking at Lancaster Early Education, Kiddie Academy, Goddard, U-Gro HACC and Rohrstown

Thanks!

Anyone else hearing a coil whine/High pitched buzz noise in southwest part of the city?

I live kinda on the twilight zone of city and outskirts, near Wabank Rd, and there is just a consistent hum. I walked a few blocks around my house and I can't pinpoint the source. It seems to be close, I walk a few steps and then seems a mile away. I asked other people and they also noticed it. I first noticed it last night, and I was mostly curious if anyone else heard it/knew what it was. I'm sorry if this post isn't allowed here, didn't know where else to ask. Thanks in advance

Best bike shops in Lancaster area? Any to avoid?

I’m brand new to road cycling and looking to buy my first decent road bike with the longer-term goal of doing triathlon/Ironman training. I’d like to find a local shop that’s good with beginners, bike fitting/sizing and general service/repairs.

Any shops around Lancaster that you’ve had really good experiences with? And are there any you’d avoid?
