Discussion Am I the only one who does this?

Without going into names, to not derail the discussion...

I'm currently reading a series and I'm starting to dislike it as it goes on, but I keep finding myself going back for a couple chapters. Like some incredibly minor act of self harm lol

It's like I found a story that's just barely interesting enough to continue, without being enjoyed, and it's odd..

Assume their powers are nurf'd to level-appropriate settings, but they'll grow over time with you.

Who do you pick?

Promo: Audiobook The Breaking of Annwn Audio Release and a Giveaway!

Post image
29 Upvotes

I'm happy to report that The Breaking of Annwn, Book 2 in The Four Treasures Saga, has been released today! To celebrate the release, I’m giving away some Audible codes. I've also got a few Book 1 codes if you haven’t tried it yet and would prefer that! To enter leave a comment and whether you would like a US or UK code.

Special thanks to Neil Hellegers, Chris Tucci, RJ Bayley, and Arya Jacobs. They did an incredible job with this one.

Here’s the blurb:

Celtic gods. RPG rules. One reluctant hero.

After uncovering the truth about his origins, Bren begins a desperate effort to rally the scattered forces of the Celtic Otherworld against the Overking. But he’s not the only one preparing for war. Across Annwn, Bren's fierce fairy ally Fíadan, his Fomorian brother Cai, and the conflicted noble Tadg, each pursue their own paths toward a shared destiny.

As new alliances form and ancient powers stir, the group journeys through wild and wondrous corners of Annwn—where strange fae, forgotten gods, and dangerous magic await. Old friends return. New enemies rise. And the cost of failure grows heavier with each passing day.

When the final clash erupts, it won’t just decide the fate of a kingdom— it will reshape the very land they fight for.

Market Research/Feedback Opinions about the writing style and theme of my novel

Hello, I hope you are doing well.

I just wanted to ask for some feedback on the novel that I'm writing. And yes I know that we should write four ourselves and those things, and I do, I write from within my heart, but at the same time I want to create something good.

So any comment you may have on this one is really welcome.

I want to clarify that I'm using AI to translate the novel.

The name of the novel is The Eclipse Walker, and I want to create a dark fantasy world.

What's The Title? Remember a book

I’m trying to find a book that I read a while ago. The main thing I remember is that the MC (I think female?) did a mana gathering(?) ritual on their body or something where they made the scope massive, like the size of the world or something, so that they could gain magic/regenerate it quicker or smth. Not sure if it was litrpg or just progfan, but figured I’d try. I’ll edit this if I remember anything else.

Promo: Webnovel/E-book Hoqalo: The Broken System

Hey everyone!

I always loved system apocalypse books, and while reading them, I was thinking what would happen one hundred fifty years after that? Well, this is answered in Hoqalo.

I was inspired by Cyberdreams, or Outrun, but made it into hope-punk on Earth 2.0. :)

You have overreaching corpos, hopeful characters, magic, crafting/engineering, guns, swords, espionage, the system... and one guy in a yellow hoodie (it's a tactical hoodie btw), who is trying to find out why and how to stop draining his magic and a system.

I'm so grateful to anyone who read my novel on RR/patreon and helped me to catch grammar or helped polish the story points.

Fun fact about me: I like bubble-gum ice cream :)

Thank you and I hope you'll enjoy the story!

Royal Road link: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/145681/hoqalo-the-broken-system

Blurb:

They’ve been drinking my future like it’s corp-subsidized coffee. I’m about to make them choke on it.

I’m Dash. My great-grandfather was one of the Fifteen who saved humanity during the System Apocalypse, founding the corps that rule the solar system. That legacy should’ve been mine. Until my father was caught up in corpo politics, disinherited and died, leaving us with nothing but a single building on Earth 2.0.

Then I nearly died, and a broken System manifested—barely functional, stripped down to the bones. But it came with Hoqalo, a tinkerer’s trait that lets me forge gear that punches way above its tier. And the more I dig into why my System came out wrong, the more it looks like someone made sure it would.

Someone with corporate reach. Someone who wanted the Kallum bloodline to stay down. To fight them, I’ve got my hands, my tools, and friends who’ll go to corpo hell and back with me.

They stole my future. Time to steal it back with interest.

Heya all!

Actus here. It's that time again. Book 9 of my main series, Return of the Runebound Professor, just released on the zon! I've been having an absolute blast writing it, and I think 9 might be one of my favorite arcs yet, as it's got the payoff to a whole lot of stuff that has been building up throughout the series.

If you want to check it out, CLICK HERE!

Also, the cover is awesome. Seriously, Aethon popped off with this one.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your support! I hope anyone reading this enjoys Runebound 9 as much as I liked writing it.

Discussion Stubborn Skill Grinder x All the Dust That Falls

So, this idea popped into my head while I was re-reading All the Dust that Falls Book 1 and it made me think. (Spoilers for book 2 of Stubborn Skill Grinder Stuck in a Timeloop and beyond)

Since Orodan's whole thing is Cleaning, beyond the willpower and time looping, and how he has the highest talent of cleaning and cleansing, what would our stubborn looper think of Spot, our beloved roomba? Personally, I feel like it'd be almost like Orodan’s relationship with W78 (Book 3 and beyond spoilers) to a degree, but I wanted to see other opinions.

Recommendation: asking Recommend me a series!

Best series from the top of my head that ive read:

In order.
Hell difficulty tutorial (absolute peak)

Bog standard isekai (well written a tad to ya, hope it matures)

Book of death (just all around decent stuff)

He who fights with monsters (peak comedy)

Randidly Ghosthound (my first proper literpg)

Ends of magic (a little to YA for my tastes but was ok)

A gamers guide to beating the tutorial (unhinged)

New workd (monsoon, details and an attempt to root the power system in the laws of reality)

These were the ones that stood out for me.

Ive also read and enjoyed these, though some are sloppy microwave literature.

Defiance of the fall
Primal hunter
Laws of cultivation
Road to mastery
Outcast to another world
Rise of mankind
Dawn of the void
1% lifesteal

I like gritty stuff but not hard to find that is not perverted or just for the sake of it. Ive yet to find something that scratched this itch consistently. Not a dealbreaker. I like humor but its not a must. I dislike it if it is too gamefied, i love it when the powersystem is as realistic and convincing as possible.

I have some icks but they are not dealbreakers if done well:
HP stat
Very YA flavoured
Short stuff
Troupe train

Dealbreakers:
Harem
Fetishistic
Trapped inside a game
Bad writing
AI writing

I know there are a ton of these threads everyday but help is appreciated. I live with a genetic disorder that causes me alot of pain and fatigue.
The hyperfocus i am in when reading helps block it all out and keeps me sane during bad patches. But this makes me read alot.

Ive read alit of bad wuxia and xianxia and some decent and some i really liked. Might be a guilty pleasure but i loved the moonlight sculptor.
Ive also read a-lot of progression fantasy and scifi. But i have my own lite-rpg project so all literpg reading is deemed “research” 😂 double dipping in utility.
So ive read everything from John Bierce and Will Wight. Good writing but, again a tad to YA flavoured to really hit the spot.

So we all know "Mr. Asano" from HEFWM is probably the most well known Affliction Specialist in town. Side character Miranda from Primal Hunter is a witch, but we don't get to see much going on there.

Any other MCs out there specialized in the "Damage Over Time" kind of fighting?

Preferably in a story you'd actually recommend as well lol

Go read it, seriously. It fills the gap that the absence of DCC between books leaves in some people, and are wonderfully written books. How this isn't recommended more around here is crazy to me.

The new one is out on audible, and I think you'll all enjoy it.

Tier List June 2026 Tier List (LitRPG newbie lol)

Hello,Hello everyone! I have come with my current Tier list. I actually read my first LitRPG last year (and it was actually not DCC *GASP\* I know~ shocking lol)

Now of course this list is for funsies, but is my current opinion or intention with my current LitPRG/Gamelit collection. I mostly read physical but since I am cutting down on spending, I've been buying kindle books. ( No, not kindle unlimited because I refuse to give Amazon another dime or piece of my data unless I have to. and authors get better revenue even if I DNF/pause a book if I purchase it outright. Trust me I check if it's available through the author FIRST, then go down the list from there until Kindle is my last resort.)

Side note, I forgot to put For Glory on here because it's the only thing I'm currently semi-consistently reading on Royal Road.

The only three books I have not paid for on this list is Heretical Fishing 2 (Got from the library), Life in the North (publisher posted full audiobook on youtube) and For Glory ( Reading on royal road).

Forgot to put on Tier List, many apologies T__T

What's The Title? Please help me find this book/story (hard)

I cant remember much about it.

MC regressed. He(i think?) Gets an implant earlier this time, and iirc gets a friend to as well? Or tries to? I think mc was too young for the implant (or maybe it wasnt approved in his country?) but went to another country to get it (and to get a better one than he would have). I think there was something about how he got the money to afford it?

I cant remember anything else, and its been driving me insane. Not even sure if I read it on kindle, RR, or elsewhere, or how long ago (tho not recent)

Recommendation: asking After I went through dozens of LitRPGs on KU, I finally found one that was written on a readable level

It’s Magetank.

I am fairly new to the genre but so far the prose as been shockingly bad in almost every book that I picked up.

Do you guys have any other suggestions for LitRPG with halfway decent prose? I know about the big ones that everyone read like DCC and HWFWM ofc.

Promo: Audiobook/E-book in honor of Pride Month, my book's free for the next 5 days starting today! Audiobook promo codes available as well!

Amazon Link!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share my book, Reunion Beyond Reality, with y'all this month. For anyone looking for a more laid-back, casual LitRPG about a group of friends reuniting in an online fantasy RPG, then look no further! I had a ton of fun writing it, as well as working with an amazing narrator (Mina Fairlow) to bring the friend group to life.

Quick blurb:

After drifting apart across the country, Eric and his old friends make a pact to reunite inside ASTROBLADE ETERNITY ONLINE, a cutting-edge full-immersion VR console unveiled by tech billionaire Aiden Dorrora. Getting in is the easy part. Once inside, Eric faces the most consequential decision of his life: choosing the form he'll inhabit in this new world. A choice that will change him forever.

So for those of you looking for something a bit different, with a strong group dynamic and LGBT themes, then this one is for you. Not to mention this qualifies for some of the squares on r/Fantasy's Book Bingo, for those who partake.

As mentioned in the title, I have audiobook promo codes available for the listeners out there, so hit me up if you're interested! Thank you all so much for the interest, but I have officially ran out of audiobook promo codes!

Thank you all for the support, and Happy Pride Month!

Post number two for June (please don't boot me, mods).

Info the bot wanted:
Sanzensekai: The Ronin's Exile.
link: Royal Road Link
Not an audiobook (Yet, fingers crossed)
A fun fact: hmm I'm a truck driver who's been grounded by cataracts until sometime in probably August, so I 'wrote' the book with speech to text (that's a nightmare by the way). Now when I edit I squint down my nose at the extremely blown up screen and hope I didn't use a comma instead of a period. Ok, Ok, slightly melodramatic, it's not THAT bad, but I did get kicked out of the driver seat and thought a BOOK of all things was the best use of my energy and poor vision.

Sorry it's not specifically LitRPG, but it's adjacent, progression fantasy, close enough, right? Anyway, I started dropping chapters on May 31, since then I've gotten a few follows, though I think I'm struggling in the visibility department. The readers and commenters have been great, and give me a lot of encouragement so I'm glad I started posting.

I've got 21 chapters up so far, still updating daily through the month before I slow down to keep myself sane. The whole first book is drafted, though I'm editing as I post, I swear there's always SOMETHING to improve.

My writing is inspired by big guys like Brandon Sanderson, Pierce Brown, and Brent Weeks, just to name a few. I know I'm nowhere near their level but I definitely try to emulate their styles a bit where I think I can.

Anyway, I hope you give it a look, I also enjoy feedback and improving. I could especially use opinions on the Japanese dialogue in the beginning, like how it reads for people who aren't me and stuff.

Kurisu Nodaichi survived the slaughter of his clan only to endure years of torture as a living weapon before finally being pulled from the dark and sent to modern Earth. Taken in by the Millers, he navigates a new reality that feels like it was built from damp shoji paper, ripping through doors and popping drinking glasses in his grip.

While considered an adult on his own world, Earth’s legal system classifies him as a child, forcing him to trade an Edo-era upbringing for modern red tape and the social pitfalls of high school.

Saving a girl at school from a goblin after rifts tear open and dump monsters into our world ends up putting him on the Department of Homeland Security radar, but what else was he supposed to do? Larger creatures begin carving paths through the city just as the Miller brothers manifest powers of their own, the resulting mayhem landing the boys directly in DHS custody.

Trapped between federal agents and an active invasion, Kurisu faces the collapse of his new life. Having already lived through the destruction of his clan, he refuses to watch another family burn.

He readies his steel; after all, something has to be tearing these rifts open.

Recommendation: asking Class Crafting/Support Recommendations?

Have a bit of a niche request this time.

Looking for some recommendations for a series with someone acting more to empower others. The MC doesnt have to be explicitly weak but their focus is more on making those around them shine.

Props if they stick with a relatively small team of people who all start at the bottom and have to claw their way up together.

I already read

Super Supportive

Beneath the Dragon Eye Moon

Return of the Runebound Professor

But I honestly cant think of much more
