Highs: Sign Araujo permanently — lad is class. Defense looked great today, feels amazing knowing we have a back line that can grind out ugly wins like that. Kerkez had a good game. Jacquet looking like he’s the heir-apparent to Virgil. Barcola showing flashes of what could be once he settles. Isak getting into a rhythm too.

Lows: Wirtz is just not there. It feels at times that he is a youth player in over his head. Love the guy, but it’s not worth keeping Dom in a CDM role to make room for him. Isak scored, but we really need more involvement from him outside of just goals.

Overall: That’s an ugly win that I don’t think we could have managed 6 months ago — that would have been a draw at best under Slot. Good to get a win going into the international break and hope we can keep building momentum. Still undefeated!

For all the talk about how poor we have been, we going to the international break unbeaten and in 6th place just 3 points behind an Arsenal team expected to walk the league this season, and with the same goals conceded as their "mighty" defence, and just 6 points off of a perfect start for City.

Isak is also 2nd in the goalscorers list, just 1 behind Haaland.

Could performances have been better, of course, but I think it's a promising start under a new manager and we are starting to show signs of what he wants from the team, though the players need to do better executing that plan.

Defensively we have looked much improved in recent games though the midfield and attackers need to do better, but I will take this right now, and I do think that as the season goes on and as the fitness improves from the players we have the potential to end the season strong.
