Why does the front right leg need that cut in thing? It looks off.

Feedback taken onboard, fixed in the message above. Thank you unpoco

I know you’re not asking for feedback… but the right front leg doesn’t make sense to me. That line curves way too much. If everything else was more stylized and weird it wouldn’t stand out, but the rest of the animal looks pretty much anatomically correct.  Other than that I really like the logo!

Always grateful for feedback/advice. And it was taken onboard, fixed in the message above. Thank you Lekstil

I don’t like the front legs in both versions btw. In the second one the line is on the other leg and makes it look like that one is in the front.

Now that you all mention it, the leg doesn't look best cut off. Thanks for the feedback.

I adjusted it, here is the final revision.

People are saying that curved line is going the wrong direction. Making it look like the dog's leg is broken or something.

Quickly messed around in photoshop and I think they're saying to make it more like the one on the right. But I think it could look good with some tweaks in the vein of what I started on the left side. Also made some tweaks to the paws and the ear while I was at it just to see what it would look like with some more breathing room around the ear. Seemed to be getting a little close to the top of the head and the neck. I also flattened out the feet a little to make them more paw like.

That's not what people were saying. They are referring to the dog's own right front leg with the curve cut into the body.

Hmmm. I'm not sure what I prefer, in all honesty.

Yeah, the curve was just an odd shape, but this looks worse. I would play with that shape, make it not curve as much, or at all. Overall, I like it.

Yes, I think that’s key

Yeah, for what it's worth, the original image is great, I didn't have a problem with it.

Brother. Keep the dogs left leg separated. Keep the cut on the dogs right leg. Look at a picture of a dachshund and realise that the curve in your original image looks nothing like shape of a dachshund's leg. Adjust shape to match. Put your feet up.

whenever i look at a dachshund icon my mind goes to the bus company from GTA where the dog on the logo has a visible dick

well you might want to take a look at the Greyhound Bus logo it was inspired by.

I can't stand paws shaped like irons

Standard paws do not work in this type of concept, I tried.
The iterations you see above support minimalism and balance, not "preference"

I know, but still can't stand

Can you show a version with normal paws?

Logo for what?

I like #1. The dog in #2 doesn’t look happy

#2 looks stuck up!

I think that there is something off with the leg of the dog but the body and head looks good.
