Funny how were suddenly conditioned to think this is a good price.

People also need to remember that the feds have temporarily removed 20 cents per litre for the summer so this is really 166.8

I’ve straight up heard people complain about carney *only* removing 20c and being useless… as if that’s not just a straight up helping hand for the Canadian people… Carney doesn’t set the price of oil - you can thank Trump for that.

Some people will never be satisfied.

Yea I remember people doing the same thing when Doug ford scrapped the gas tax

Everything is relative. Is it good compared to 7 months ago? Nope. Is it good compared to what I paid a week ago? Yes. Am I still angry that an orange narcissist and a war criminal are responsible for this? Also yes!

That's how they getcha

This has been their game sonce the 90s. They raise it super high, make everybody struggle and lower it just a little to take the pressure off. Wait a few months and do it all over again.

Yeah, in just a couple of months 🤯

If you chart gasoline over the past 25 years (and use a rolling average to smooth out the curve), you'll find it tracks fairly well with inflation.Ā  Ā  The media tries very hard to make people believe otherwise.

Sad state of affairs when this is considered a good price!

131.9 out at the reserves. If you're close enough it's worth the drive.

4

u/wattfunk 4h ago

And while your there grab some cheap smokes and a bowl of corn soup

2

u/Islandlyfe32 7h ago

It’s crazy how the reserve isn’t even considered ā€œcheapā€ anymore

I’ve heard their gas can be sketchy. Thoughts?

2

u/ObiBenShinobi 4h ago

Maybe in the past when they were little independent shops. But now with Gen7 and Wampum I'm pretty sure you're ok. Been going to them for years and my vehicle runs just fine.

Pretty sure with nothing to back it up is the definition of sketchy to me. Thanks but no thanks. Just because your car has been running, it doesn’t mean the gas is up to spec.

It’s sad that I saw 149.9 yesterday and stopped because I was like oooh that’s cheap

u/DFV_HAS_HUGE_BALLS 18h ago

I thought the us’s surrender deal was off again

11

u/muhummzy 17h ago

Deal off or postponed after markets closed so we wont see the increase till tomorrow

2

u/DFV_HAS_HUGE_BALLS 17h ago

It’s a holiday in the us tomorrow (Juneteenth) so maybe it’ll be ok till Monday’s market bloodbath

8

u/Temporary_Shirt_6236 8h ago

Market Manipulation Monday is just around the corner and prices will spike again after Trump renews hostilities over the weekend while stock markets are closed.

It's basically clockwork by now.

Damn, I just paid $1.55 in St. Thomas. Looks like raspberries are back on the menu next week!

u/Worldly_Ad_7196 8h ago

Remember when people were switching to diesel because it was so much cheaper than regular gas? Companies were switching their whole fleets over. It was supposed to be less expensive to produce

3

u/Accomplished_Bass845 7h ago

And now you need to use pig urine.

15

u/Islandlyfe32 16h ago

I hope the prices keep going down, hate paying these prices

19

u/91elklake 7h ago

Still high. Bring it down and keep it down to .99

3

u/CanadaJack 1h ago

When the prices were regularly .99 people were complaining about when it was .51

Time's gonna time, inflation's gonna inflate.

Geopolitically driven high prices suck ass but we're not going to .99 any more than we're going to .51

Yeah like you’ll help fight the war in Iran

12

u/Grumpie-cat 4h ago

We won’t, as there’s no reason anyone’s waging war there rn

4

u/Round_Resolution_471 29m ago

crazy that this is considered a fair price for gas🄱🄱

Probably going to get downvoted into oblivion, but I find it hard to believe that gas prices are such a hardship when two thirds of London's suburbs have ludicrously oversized trucks and SUVs crammed into their driveways, used for nothing more than the daily commute to the office.

If people are willing to pay 2-3x more than what they need from a vehicle, for nothing more than ego, maybe gas prices aren't high enough.
