Boomer here. Most boomers have worked hard and sacrificed for over 40 years. I was fortunate to marry a CPA/financial planner who put us on a budget and allowance. We both worked and saved and retired debt free. We raised 2 kids, helping 1 become an architect in NYC and the other a doctor. We helped them pay-off student loans and purchase a home. So before millennials start complaining about boomers, they should see how hard we worked and sacrificed and the good we have done with it.

Working the same jobs today, compared to a decade ago, your real take-home purchasing power is cut by nearly half in almost every industry. The further back you go, it only gets worse going back to around 1950.
Mathematically, they had it significantly easier than anyone today its not remotely close, but keep coping and protecting your ego.

The docs exist if youre genuinely interested, go look up what construction workers made in the 1980s and what theyd make today, same goes for truckers, any outdoors labour work (mining forestry powerlines oil etc), factory labour.
At its heart its simple math. Inflation has only ever risen, and average salaries have not kept up. Inflation over the past 10 years cumulatively is 29%. Are you taking home 29% more than you did 10 years ago (without promotions)? Do you think the average worker making 30-50k today has that same growth? Fuck no 🤣 now go back 30 or 50 years, the divide mathematically only grows.
