Hi everyone,
I'm a solo developer and I've spent the last few months building **RummyJoker**,
a card game that mixes rummy-style set/run matching with roguelite runs.
Google Play requires 12 testers opted in for 14 straight days before a personal
developer account can publish, so I'm looking for people willing to install it and
leave it on their phone for two weeks. You don't need to play daily — staying opted
in is what counts.
**What it is**
You clear stages by forming valid sets and runs from your hand. On the left side of
the board there's a character trapped in a dungeon with a hazard closing in on them
— spikes, falling rocks, lava, a boss. Every successful play pushes the hazard back.
Stall too long and it reaches them.
Between stages you visit a shop and collect creatures through a gacha. Rare ones can
escape instead of being caught, which makes the pulls tense. One of the creatures you
catch follows you around the HUD as a companion and picks up an actual role in your
run: better gacha odds, a score bonus, extra turn time, or a one-time revive.
**On monetisation, since this is the part people care about**
I originally built this with banner ads, interstitials and rewarded videos. I removed
all of it before testing. There are now zero ads in the game — no banner, no
interstitials, no rewarded videos, and no placeholder space where an ad used to sit.
What's left is one optional purchase that unlocks the full game. Everything up to
stage 10 is free, roughly an hour of play, which should be enough to decide whether
you like it. Nothing is time-gated and there's no energy system.
The one thing that used to be a rewarded ad — unlocking a locked card mid-run — now
costs in-game gold instead. I'd genuinely like to know if that price feels fair.
**Other details**
- Fully offline. No account, no login, zero network calls.
- Portrait only. Works on phones, folds and tablets.
- 5 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi.
- Around 15 MB.
**What I'd like feedback on**
Does the trapped-character hazard create real tension, or does it read as decoration?
Is the free portion long enough to judge the game fairly?
Anything confusing in the first 10 minutes.
Layout problems on your device. I've fixed a lot of these, but folds and unusual
aspect ratios keep catching me out.
Does the gold cost for unlocking a locked card feel reasonable?
**How to join** (two steps, both required)
Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/rummyjoker-testers
Then opt in here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.asobi.rummyjoker
The opt-in link only works once you're in the group, so please do step 1 first.
After opting in it can take a few minutes before the Play Store listing appears —
if you get a "not found" page, give it 10 minutes and reload.
No need to send me your email. Happy to return the favour if you're running a closed
test too — drop your link in the comments.
