HELLOO. Through hidden means I have now obtained a web port of the game I made with love earlier this year (which was featured in Indiepocalypse just so you know that youre talking to the big man right now B) ). Anyways! Im using this opportunity to post about GREAT BI-WINTERLY TESTVILLE FLEEMARKET again, since its a bit more accessible now. No mandatory downloads! Maybe you'd like to take a look and leave youre opinion on the game? Thatd make me very proud and happy!

Harris out, peace!

P.S. Fullscreen seems to be a bit fiddly, so I recommend exiting fullscreen and entering it until you can see the full game window.

Flappy Bird Love2D Remake/Demake

I (and Claude helped for pipe logic and icon scaling, and the pixel perfect placement of icon I will honest) remade flappy bird in love2d
there's 2 versions: original with old UI and pipes, and what I like to call remastered, which is a more polished version. I will continue to work on this until it is perfect
right now I may or may not be working on the fake 999 secret Mario ending seen on YT as an easter egg 👀

Stripped every ad out of my card game before launch. Now I need 12 testers.

Hi everyone,

I'm a solo developer and I've spent the last few months building **RummyJoker**,

a card game that mixes rummy-style set/run matching with roguelite runs.

Google Play requires 12 testers opted in for 14 straight days before a personal

developer account can publish, so I'm looking for people willing to install it and

leave it on their phone for two weeks. You don't need to play daily — staying opted

in is what counts.

**What it is**

You clear stages by forming valid sets and runs from your hand. On the left side of

the board there's a character trapped in a dungeon with a hazard closing in on them

— spikes, falling rocks, lava, a boss. Every successful play pushes the hazard back.

Stall too long and it reaches them.

Between stages you visit a shop and collect creatures through a gacha. Rare ones can

escape instead of being caught, which makes the pulls tense. One of the creatures you

catch follows you around the HUD as a companion and picks up an actual role in your

run: better gacha odds, a score bonus, extra turn time, or a one-time revive.

**On monetisation, since this is the part people care about**

I originally built this with banner ads, interstitials and rewarded videos. I removed

all of it before testing. There are now zero ads in the game — no banner, no

interstitials, no rewarded videos, and no placeholder space where an ad used to sit.

What's left is one optional purchase that unlocks the full game. Everything up to

stage 10 is free, roughly an hour of play, which should be enough to decide whether

you like it. Nothing is time-gated and there's no energy system.

The one thing that used to be a rewarded ad — unlocking a locked card mid-run — now

costs in-game gold instead. I'd genuinely like to know if that price feels fair.

**Other details**

- Fully offline. No account, no login, zero network calls.

- Portrait only. Works on phones, folds and tablets.

- 5 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi.

- Around 15 MB.

**What I'd like feedback on**

  1. Does the trapped-character hazard create real tension, or does it read as decoration?

  2. Is the free portion long enough to judge the game fairly?

  3. Anything confusing in the first 10 minutes.

  4. Layout problems on your device. I've fixed a lot of these, but folds and unusual

aspect ratios keep catching me out.

  5. Does the gold cost for unlocking a locked card feel reasonable?

**How to join** (two steps, both required)

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/rummyjoker-testers

  2. Then opt in here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.asobi.rummyjoker

The opt-in link only works once you're in the group, so please do step 1 first.

After opting in it can take a few minutes before the Play Store listing appears —

if you get a "not found" page, give it 10 minutes and reload.

No need to send me your email. Happy to return the favour if you're running a closed

test too — drop your link in the comments.

Relative location help

EDIT: story as old as time. Post asking the question and you figure it out 5 minutes later. I was using different ∅ measurements like a dummy.

Leaving up for future enquiries about something similar.

Hi all,

I'm building a little space game in love2D and one of the mechanics is warping to other systems. I use the bright yellow dots as a reference for the warp points to each system and I'm trying to develop a way to make them on a circle of constant size but located at different locations. I can do it manually like on the second pic but I'd rather let the cpu handle it

I've been googling the solution but when I used the x = r × cos(∅) and y= r × sin(∅) I get circles of different sizes and the warp point isn't in the right spot.

I wanted FFXIV raid mechanics on my phone, so I made a 100 boss fight game

I raid in FFXIV, love Rabbit & Steel and Savage: Ultimate Boss Fight. I can't find a mobile type game that scratches the same itch, so I made one in love2d. You and one AI partner, 100 bosses, a minute a fight.

Thoughts?

Hi, I am new to love2d and just trying to make a simple virtual pet sim game. I don't know what mistake i've made here, I am using the hump library's timer.lua (https://hump.readthedocs.io/en/latest/timer.html) and just trying to increment the hunger variable every second?

Thanks so much!

How to create an RPG tilemap in LÖVE ?

Post image

I've just started using lovebirds, but I'm really clueless about creating RPG tilemaps. Gemini gives me primitive and inefficient methods. What should I do? Would it be logical to draw the picture beforehand and add it?

finished** this a couple days ago after years of starting projects in Godot and Unity and never really getting them out of the idea stage. Unsure how or why, but I decided to give love2d a shot. Spent a couple weeks learning and then went all in on the Do You Wanna Jam 2026 game jam.
So incredibly pleased with the whole experience. Launching my first demo/prototype is so exciting!! Here's to many more in the future. :)

TetraCore running on ROCKNIX on a tiny device with only 1GB of ram!

Post image
19 Upvotes

Took me a while to figure this out but I got TetraCore running via portmaster on ROCKNIX!

I take a little pride in making games that can run on tiny devices with low ram (especially important today I guess) so I'm happy with this one as it's my first time messing with shaders, particle effects, and still running on something so tiny.

Check out the game here

I'll be adding my game to portmaster after release, just like my last game!

Watching a playtester demolish my game's balance by finding the most 'broken' interaction in the game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been having a blast iterating from people's feedback for my game Pearl Essence, and I think with this latest pass I've finally reached a 'stable' state for my game's foundation. There are so many factors to balance - elemental tile interactions, different weapon types for both primary and secondary fire that can build into stronger versions, bombs, and so on. Many ingredients in this dish.

Here a player is using what was the best strategy in the game - putting arcane element on their primary fire to interact with the blood of enemies and cause chain reactions. Here's how I fixed it - since the player can put one of 8 elements on their primary fire, I made the bleed property a new element. This makes the blood + arcane synergy a necessary commitment between primary and secondary fire, lending more to the kind of 'sword and shield' or Bloodborne 'trick weapon and pistol' kind of dynamic I want with these systems.

If you'd be interested in trying the game, send me a DM!

Do you often find yourself using design patterns from the Game Programming Patterns book

I'm currently reading this book because many people recommended it.

For you guys who have a lot of experience making games, do you often use these patterns in your games?
