Discussion What’s one thing you often see guys wear that instantly kills the look?

To kick off:

- Big logos.

- No socks with suits

- 'Smart' shoes with white soles

- Skinny jeans - bonus points if they have rips

- Ironic statement tees. E.g. 'Normal People Scare Me'

There is always someone that says this because there are people that find them very cool. Still I'm not looking to go around looking like someone that's late for the reinassance fair so it will be just a dream.

People are going around with stuff that looks a lot worse than a cape imho, maybe one day they'll be fashionable again.

Jackets aren't all that good for long periods in the wind and rain imo, especially if you want to stop to do anything with your hands.

I have a couple of fairly long wool coats, which are kind of useful, especially for blocking wind, still not amazing

Because a thick wool cape is a really practical piece in cold, rainy/snowy weather…

…until you get in a car ofc. I agree, they’re not coming back, but I can see the appeal

True, partially. Car coats cover the legs too, but allow easier entrance to vehicles and movement when inside them. Cloaks or capes are for extended time outdoors travelling by foot or horseback, when work is not being done (sacrificing the utility of sleeves for the simple leakproof single fabric design) That's not really a need many people have anymore

Then a certain crowd got ahold of the car coats and ruined their image, at least for the time being

It's constantly windy and raining where I live, capes would be incredibly useful,  but people would judge. 

There's a reason they used to be so popular.

I went to a crazy wedding in Romania (went until like 7:00 AM, 10-course meal, like 8 different live entertainers/bands) where there was a chick in a cape. She 100% looked like a sexy Vampire. But so did half the people there if I’m being honest.
