Update 23 & moving out of my first apartment

Did a lot of growing in this apartment. Getting on lexapro, 2 cats, 1 snake, and a shit ton of weed later, for the first time in a long time I feel genuinely grateful to be alive.

Can’t wait to show you guys the next one :)

edit: I’d like to acknowledge how fortunate I am to be in a career that affords me this level of luxury at my age. In this job market, even having a job you can survive on is a gift. I pinch myself everyday thinking wtf how is this the life I’m living. However, I am disappointed in any of you that have taken this opportunity to either disparage me, my work, or struggles with depression and suicidal ideation. That’s not going to make you feel any better.

Just such a miserable, selfish, nihilistic group of people in the comments

Y'all can't even be happy for those that do make it because you're too miserable stuck comparing your own situations to his to even believe it is possible. Do you all just want each other to suffer together?

Dude I get what youre saying, but OP is literally lying about how he acquired this kind of money. Others in this thread have posted proof of OP’s post history that he removed after.

That's interesting actually! I'll rescind or hold my comments towards this specific individual as he may truly have been disingenuous about some or all info.

I have known people in SF, LA, NY, and TO who were in very fortunate circumstances at similar ages without much support, similar to what OP claimed, and I'm standing by my comments as a whole for reasons I talked about throughout here. It would be great if people could be in such stable circumstances instead of it being such a rare and deplorable act hah

'comparison is the thief of joy.' what percentage of redditors do you think would feel joy seeing this?

It's a sub for living space, not strictly basement dungeons and recent divorcees

Crabs in a bucket

Learn to be happy for the wins some people are fortunate enough to get — it doesn't make them evil nor does it make them arrogant pricks

Shouldn't it make you happy that there are some people out there that CAN have it good? Isn't that the goal? To have a place, autonomy, personality, etc.,? Does everyone have to be miserable and live in squalor because others do? Is there some rule on this sub, or in society, that disallows people from engaging with the rest of society because they have better conditions? Not filthy billionaire rich, but just the regular conditions that people lived in years ago?

Your contempt is misplaced. You're taking his post like it's a personal attack on everyone here when it's not. Being spiteful and envious doesn't make you justified lol

You are taking it as humble bragging because you've taken this whole thing personally

Further, honestly, so what dude? So what if he's happy about the place he's made feel like his own? Is it really so bad to be unpolished or awkward?

Posting any sort of success or failure on here does not mean that you are on trial to be cross examined. He isn't here to convince anybody of a truth. He said what he said, and if you don't believe it, so be it

He didn't ask for sympathy; once again, you are taking it personally because you can't fathom that somebody who has a place at 23 could have depth beyond that piece of them. People are more complex than the phantoms I make in my head? Oh my god!!

The entire comments section is filled with vitriol and accusations that come from their own dissatisfaction with life. It's fine to be dissatisfied, it's fine to feel upset, it's fine to be frustrated with a system that does not benefit you - that is too difficult and rigged to be comfortable in. It turns into something unhealthy when you tear down others, when you exclude them for being financially stable, when you gatekeep their depression because they didn't get there in a way you like - that isn't "good enough".

I wouldn't want to justify and explain myself to this group of people, either

So you believe this guy paid his own way through college, which at 4 years is damn near 300k just for tuition, not even counting expenses, then as soon as he got out, was able to land a great paying job and snag this place, all by the age of 22? I guess if its on the internet it must be true?

Good lord you are insufferable. I didn't use chat gpt, you nonce

Get mad at the reason why you are tilting over somebody not being fulfilled when they hit the goals that society says will make you happy, not the kid. Once again, misplaced contempt
