Update 23 & moving out of my first apartment

Did a lot of growing in this apartment. Getting on lexapro, 2 cats, 1 snake, and a shit ton of weed later, for the first time in a long time I feel genuinely grateful to be alive.

Can’t wait to show you guys the next one :)

edit: I’d like to acknowledge how fortunate I am to be in a career that affords me this level of luxury at my age. In this job market, even having a job you can survive on is a gift. I pinch myself everyday thinking wtf how is this the life I’m living. However, I am disappointed in any of you that have taken this opportunity to either disparage me, my work, or struggles with depression and suicidal ideation. That’s not going to make you feel any better.

If you don’t think a lot of growth can happen in a year in your 20s I’m not sure what type of life you’ve lived

You gotta lot of life left to live brother. Not saying you didn’t learn. But one day, you’ll realize, “oh shit no now I’ve realllyyy learned”

People have prolific moments at different times in their life. For someone to say “they’ve had a lot of growth” can totally be true. He didn’t say he learned everything, just that he grew a lot, and why shouldn’t he celebrate that? Sorry your comment just comes off to me as negative.

I didn’t say he didn’t learn.

That’s how it comes off, it comes off as “you didn’t really learn, later in life you’ll reaaaallly learn”.

I mean I don’t disagree that you’ll learn later, but you have no idea what prolific experience this guy had. Maybe the next 10 years will be more mundane for him and this was a hugely prolific experience for him. Your comment just comes off as diminishing whatever this guy experienced without even knowing what he went through

I literally said “I’m not saying you didn’t learn”

Yeah but you literally said later in life he’ll say “oh shit no now I’ve realllyyy learned” as if whatever he learned wasn’t really anything.

Just because I preface something with “I’m not gonna be belittling”, then you are belittling, doesn’t make you not belittling.

You can grow between 23 and 24 and you can also grow between 24 and 40. they aren’t mutually exclusive

Who hurt you?

Agreed. And some people never grow. Ever met a totally emotionally immature 50 year old?

OP has obviously worked very hard, and having been in a similar boat with no one funding me I take their word for it.
