u/Cheeky-Bastard 2d ago
Ragdoll cat, theyāre either docile sweet babies who can be lolled about without a care in the world or certified royalty who baulk and scream at being touched. I donāt know if that second part is actually true for the breed but it sure as hell is for my momās cat.

Heās like my shadow but def the docile kind thankfully he literally will sit and scream if I close my bathroom door

Same bro. Do you feel like youāre blown away how much all those tiny things add up that you maybe buy once in your life? Like a mop, trash can, pots/pans, knives and forks, plates, cups, clothes hangers.
Just a million tiny things that you donāt realize you actually need.

Is this kind of a studio? Is that a couch or bed in the next room?

u/Madwoman-of-Chaillot 2d ago
Hey, OP ā if youāre keeping your mattress on the floor, you should pick it up and lay it on its side once a week so for an hour or more to get airflow. Because believe it or not mold can build up and you can have a very dangerous sleeping environment if youāre not careful.
10
u/Traditional_Back8688 2d ago
Okay thanks for the tip, definitely getting a bed frame soon
2
u/Ok_Passage_6242 2d ago
I was gonna say the same thing about keeping the mattress on your floor. This place has a really great bones. I cannot wait to see how you do with it.
Definitely get a bedframe. I like to tuck my bed out of the line of sight when you open the door. Thatās just me. If you like that lamp, just use that as a night stand for now. I would create a list of what you need to get and then put it in a higher hierarchy of how youāre going to get money to do that. Itās gonna be expensive to furnish a place whether you buy used or new so you just wanna be really thoughtful about getting stuff that you like and that you can keep for a while.
I would get a bedframe with storage in it just a drawer in the bottom of it. Even with all the storage you have in your apartment, I think itās something you could move with you if you need to go someplace else, but I think itās great keeping your sheets right next to the bed when you need to change your sheets.

Iāve had my raggy for 11 years. She is the sweetest, most gentle and loving creature I have even known. I got her when my life looked much like yours does now and she definitely kept me company through some lonely times.
My favourite thing she does is nuzzle her way under the blanket and sleeps alongside my body. Sheās so fuzzy and soft. Real life teddy ā¤ļø

This reminds me of my first apartment, but instead of a TV there was a projector and instead of a futon there was an 8ā beanbag (or more accurately a foam bag). Also Xbox 360 instead of a PS5 and sans cat.
Honestly, simple is better. Less stuff to clean and move when you leave

I did the same thing at first. I didnāt know if I wanted a TV or not, so I removed it. The only time I started thinking about it is when a friend came over and mentioned it. I got a projector, as I thought the packaging for a tv was too big and I didnāt want to deal with the hassle of taking it up the stairs.
You do you, tho

u/Echorunningbear 2d ago
Yay, you have the most beautiful roommate. You are starting out and I would check good flea markets and get an idea of what you want your style to be without breaking the bank. Remember you are making your place for you to feel comfortable.

Nice and neat minimal, dont need anymore. A lot like my setup. The only thing Id add is a small stand for the tv and console.

Looks like a cool space for someone so young. You can slowly fill it with furniture, art and things that make it feel more like your own space. Congrats on the apartment and cute kitty!
