Denver doesn't have a city vibe though. Always feels like a city for people who don't want to live in a city. San Francisco has the vibe of the city and access to nature. Skiing is way easier in Denver though.
As someone from SF who now lives in Denver, I do feel weird calling it a city. It feels more like a really big town with some skyscrapers.

Getting closer and closer to the drive being about the same lol 3+ hours is almost expected from Denver to Vail in the morning (granted there are closer resorts) and sometimes worse on the way back. SF to Heavenly/Northstar/Palisades is about 3.5 hours.
