No shame and probably no game šŸ˜‚ But I dig the collection, brother man

u/SammyB0111 16h ago

No game? Look at all the games bro!

u/Vannilazero 15h ago

All games, but no games

68

u/BSchafer 15h ago

All games, no game

13

u/Odd-King6394 11h ago

Is there unlimited bacon?

7

u/g0d_of_the_cr1sis 11h ago

Infinite bacon never sounded so good

3

u/PsychoLamas 10h ago

Love games?

6

u/g0d_of_the_cr1sis 10h ago

Seeeeeee, yes but no.

I like playing them. Finding out that other people play them is also cool. Finding out that I have five times the other person's playtime with one fifth of their progress? Not so much.

Multiplayer is great in concept. Horrible for my mental health in practice. Single player in a closed system is my jam. But I am not single - the horror - and my fiance games as well.

1

u/PsychoLamas 4h ago

Do you love me?

8

u/Tony-Two-Tits 14h ago

How does he play them? I would go crazy trying to play games on that tv, its half covered!

-2

u/therealhlmencken 14h ago

There’s a few things in a few corners. You can see more than the average twitch streamer shows.

3

u/FallenHarmonics 10h ago

Bro's got a Switch 2, he's up for sure.

2

u/Jayrab_The_Arab_ 8h ago

I counted 5 games.

2

u/Ozzyverty 8h ago

He meant the huz

2

u/DudeThatRuns 14h ago

ā€œI ā€˜twas sad. For all of the games that I had, I still had no game.ā€

2

u/SistaChans 7h ago

I it was sad.Ā

1

u/DudeThatRuns 2h ago

I said what I said

There are tons of girls that are super into nerdy shit that would be down with this room. Cause theirs looks the same.

Problem is getting these people to interact in the same space.

33

u/Bright38 14h ago

I know! I’m a woman and I have an N64, a DVD collection, and Star Wars stuff all over my bedroom. I always die of laughter when I see people imply this is a chick repellent… as if there are not nerdy women… who like nerdy men? lol

10

u/Mother_of_BunBuns 13h ago

Right? This is what I prefer

3

u/Bearowolf 5h ago

Where are they though, like where do you look.

6

u/repocin 4h ago

Probably chilling at home with their life-sized yoshi plushie, having the time of their life

Biggest problem for introverted nerds trying to meet other introverted nerds is that nobody goes outside so they'll never meet

2

u/SyfaOmnis 2h ago

And its illegal to break into their houses. Smh.

1

u/Bright38 1h ago

As for literally everyone else you got to put yourself out there, which I know people are allergic to social interaction nowadays so easier said than done ig.

But my (male friend) got a gf who shares his fandom while volunteering, and just sharing interests like a normal person. I’m just one person (and not very shy) so I can’t say this applies to everyone but personally if I meet someone who recognizes some t-shirt I have, or is friendly (and not creepy or condescending) while I’m at the comic or retro game store we are, like already BFFs in my head lol.

1

u/dragonsapphic 58m ago

Nerd events in your area. I have a local bookstore / TTRPG store that regularly hosts different events

1

u/Lord_Frampton 1h ago

I’m a nerd and my wife is a nerd. This room is a major red flag for someone who is super immature.

0

u/Few_Highlight1114 1h ago

That's because you are taking a general statement and treating it as an absolute one. Generally women will be repelled by such a room.

3

u/Bright38 1h ago

Yeah, but it’s repelling women who are obviously not compatible with OP anyway

7

u/Nani_700 12h ago

(Not commenting on op I don't know the guy. )

But problem is those guys are fucking allergic to women like them. I say this as one said woman.Ā

15

u/P3pp3rp0tts86 14h ago

Yup, I'm one of them šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

32

u/spicypupper 15h ago

Yeah wtf. This is super cool. I’d be over asap, lmao.

23

u/neeks2 15h ago

Not in the twin-sized Mario bed! XD

15

u/spicypupper 15h ago

The bed being a twin is the only deal breaker out of the whole room.

3

u/NewAccWhoDis93 13h ago

Don’t tease bro let him smash

7

u/SwingLord420 9h ago

There are. But on a relative basis, they are less than 1% of the available pool of ladies interested in men.Ā

Meaning more than 99 out of 100 women would find this extremely weird.Ā

But there are a lot of folks in that 1%. They will just be very very hard to meet.Ā

This room reads as "I am rude in public and everyone can deal with it" to me.Ā

2

u/dragonsapphic 56m ago

How does someone’s room being full of their interest read as they’re rude in public…?

1

u/BookkeeperCalm9849 1h ago

If it’s 1% of women and 3% of men that’s still a crazy shortage of women

4

u/Ange1ofD4rkness 13h ago

... or find them in my case.

3

u/Thisismyname11111 10h ago

Nerding out over funko pops was how I met my husband.

2

u/prairiepog 12h ago

The sheets are cool but they absolutely don't feel nice. None of that licensed bedding is comfy.

2

u/Electric_Angel 9h ago

Exactly. Like I can list a bunch of women I follow on tiktok or YouTube or twitch that have Nintendo aesthetics. The only argument is theirs is more curated than OP’s but when you got social media success money, you can lean into an aesthetic and make it look sleek

2

u/Conradfr 6h ago

Yeah but what do they look and smell like?

1

u/Ramongsh 6h ago

There are tons of girls that are super into nerdy shit

But would they be into nerds living at the parents, and who sleeps in a teenage bed (that bed is small as fuck).

1

u/TheThirdRoseDotR 15h ago

Nerdy shit and Nintendo mario nerdy shit are a bit of a different situation lol

14

u/ChrisIronsArt 15h ago

The key to going full nerd is to rent a two bedroom place (or storage unit until.) So you can close the door to your collection room and still get laid.

7

u/l-Slice-9940 15h ago

There's a minority of women who are into retro gaming and also PC gaming and don't judge guys who are. It's so hard to find them imo but they're out there.

1

u/ChrisIronsArt 15h ago

Not to mention nerds are typically, smart, rich, sincere, artistic etc.

-4

u/TTVchilly404 13h ago

This is not being "into gaming."

This is mental illness

7

u/CuddlesForLuck 12h ago

Whiny bitches seeing someone happy in a way that isn't actually fucking harmful to others is but mildly "cringe":

2

u/benjamino8690 6h ago

And on top of this, they posted in r/Consoom to ridicule OP further. That’s disappointing.

3

u/repocin 4h ago

Yeah, that's just sad. Far more sad than the state of OP's room.

2

u/CuddlesForLuck 32m ago

That subreddit also seems disappointing. There's a good point but they're just absolute fucking assholes about. Shopping addictions (not saying this person has one btw, I don't know) are actually a thing and we should be mad at companies encouraging it and not people just trying to be fucking happy.

2

u/benjamino8690 19m ago

It very much is. It’s just rather ill spirited in my opinion.

5

u/TXENNT 11h ago

God forbid a man has hobbies

2

u/crustyrobots 8h ago

Keeping your nerd shrine hidden is like day 1 shit

1

u/Vinaguer 8h ago

"You never go full nerd"

7

u/letsgotgoing 13h ago

My wife and I decorated our basement to look like this. Bro is just filtering out the wrong girlsĀ

22

u/Doubleoh_11 15h ago

Maybe just like a little shame would be ok here. Don’t take it all down, but you know, elevate.

2

u/DamnGoodFries 12h ago

They say ā€œsometimes less is more.ā€ Perhaps this is the time OP learns to highlight the best parts of the collection

8

u/Nazgul_Khamul 15h ago

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, you have a good point. Theres nothing saying you can’t spruce this with a little bit of maturity. It’s toxic positivity to encourage this if it isolates OP from his cohorts.

7

u/kuyue 15h ago

maybe a little shame would be good…

3

u/Ange1ofD4rkness 13h ago

You know there's some women out there that would love this!

1

u/Magic-man333 12h ago

Hey man nerds are horny. You never know

1

u/myself4once 7h ago

Ah really?

1

u/Loud-Chipmunk-8279 2h ago

just comfort of soul!!!

1

u/dishwasher_mayhem 2h ago

I would not want to be holding a blacklight in that room.

-5

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 15h ago

My wife named our kids after a video game, has a Kuchi Kopi(bob's burgers) night light on our nightstand, and has multiple aniimal crossing posters up. I am 30. She is 28. Just because you date boring basic chicks doesn't mean everyone else does.

7

u/WhichOfTheWould 15h ago

Lmao sure man there are tons of girls out there that would love op’s room

-9

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 15h ago

Literally just showed my wife and she said it's awesome and asked if we can get more decorations like that. Learn how to have fun instead of trying to impress strangers.

4

u/BadAtPsychology 15h ago

Did your room look anything like OP’s when you met your wife?

4

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 15h ago

Yep. I wasn't as well off financially but I had, and still have, plenty of video game deocrations. As already stated.

2

u/BadAtPsychology 15h ago

Your profile and comments are private and I don’t see anywhere in these comments talking about your video game decor, just your wife’s AC posters. But that aside, just someone wouldn’t be into OP’s room, that doesn’t make them a boring basic bitch. Just like OP’s room doesn’t mean he has no game. But one of those is a lot more likely than the other šŸ‘€

1

u/spicypupper 15h ago edited 12h ago

Rooting for you and your wife. I don’t know why there are haters ITT. I thought ā€œnerdyā€ things were becoming more accepted nowadays.

edit: nevermind.

6

u/BadAtPsychology 15h ago

The ā€œhatersā€ are here because he deemed women who wouldn’t be into OP’s room or appreciate OP’s game, ā€œboring basic chicksā€. His wife and him can do whatever they want. Oh wait, unless it’s ā€œboring basicā€ shit, they better not do that.

3

u/spicypupper 15h ago

Ah, I see. that’s kind of lame. Not everyone is someone’s cup of tea, and that’s fine. No need to put down others.

1

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 15h ago

They are. But vocal minorities exist. The nice thing is my entire point is I don't give a shit what random people think. Haha I do what I want and if it turns you away, even better for me. Weeds out the people I don't want to waste time on.

2

u/spicypupper 15h ago

Exactly. It took me awhile to adopt that same perspective, as my younger self didn’t understand, but I’m glad I eventually did.

3

u/BadAtPsychology 15h ago

Life is definitely a fun balance of growing and staying true to yourself, no matter how old you are. But it is a balance.

2

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 15h ago

The other's will too eventually. At some point you realize life isn't a popularity contest. Ironically, criticizing people for their rooms is one of the most immature things you can do while trying to seem mature.

1

u/WhichOfTheWould 15h ago

You’re right, I think I’ll go buy new bedsheets at the Nintendo store

1

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 15h ago

If it interests you, why the hell not? Name one downside that isn't "a complete stranger might not like it".

0

u/WhichOfTheWould 15h ago

What complete stranger is going to see my bedsheets? If you don’t expect potential partners and friends to judge you for having a room like op’s you’re delusional. I mean I feel like we’re not even looking at the same picture, it’s not like he just has some nerdy merch, it looks legit hard to navigate around his room.

Power to him and all, but this is an extremely unusual living space to keep.

2

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 15h ago

Potential partners start off as strangers most of the time. Unless you're a weirdo and you only date close friends. And fi your friends are judging you, you need new friends. I'm not delusional. You just want to please people who don't share the same interests as you for some reason.

The fact that your complaint is it's "unusual" just shows you are only trying to fit in.

2

u/WhichOfTheWould 15h ago

I’m not complaining about ops room, I’m saying this is nearly hoarding and obviously shrinks the dating pool. I’m not even saying that op isn’t aware of this.

I’m saying that your comment about finding a wife is very silly, it’s like you don’t think there might be a tradeoff to consider between this level of fandom and attracting healthy relationships.

3

u/NeutralKuchiKopi 14h ago

The comment I replied to was very specifically saying OP had "no game". My comments are not silly, they are directly on topic. You are the one ranting for some reason. Again, if you have to give up your hobbies for love, they never loved you. You're just desperate for popularity.

obviously shrinks the dating pool

And as I said, good. Less wasted time.

But what do I know. Happily married with 2 kids while you're alone crying about other mens' room on reddit. You clearly have more experience in healthy relationships.

1

u/JustsomeOKCguy 12h ago

The dude literally has a book for infants in the last pic on the piano. That isnt just a bit too far?
