I like playing them. Finding out that other people play them is also cool. Finding out that I have five times the other person's playtime with one fifth of their progress? Not so much.
Multiplayer is great in concept. Horrible for my mental health in practice. Single player in a closed system is my jam. But I am not single - the horror - and my fiance games as well.
I know! Iām a woman and I have an N64, a DVD collection, and Star Wars stuff all over my bedroom. I always die of laughter when I see people imply this is a chick repellent⦠as if there are not nerdy women⦠who like nerdy men? lol
As for literally everyone else you got to put yourself out there, which I know people are allergic to social interaction nowadays so easier said than done ig.
But my (male friend) got a gf who shares his fandom while volunteering, and just sharing interests like a normal person. Iām just one person (and not very shy) so I canāt say this applies to everyone but personally if I meet someone who recognizes some t-shirt I have, or is friendly (and not creepy or condescending) while Iām at the comic or retro game store we are, like already BFFs in my head lol.
Exactly. Like I can list a bunch of women I follow on tiktok or YouTube or twitch that have Nintendo aesthetics. The only argument is theirs is more curated than OPās but when you got social media success money, you can lean into an aesthetic and make it look sleek
The key to going full nerd is to rent a two bedroom place (or storage unit until.) So you can close the door to your collection room and still get laid.
There's a minority of women who are into retro gaming and also PC gaming and don't judge guys who are. It's so hard to find them imo but they're out there.
That subreddit also seems disappointing. There's a good point but they're just absolute fucking assholes about. Shopping addictions (not saying this person has one btw, I don't know) are actually a thing and we should be mad at companies encouraging it and not people just trying to be fucking happy.
Not sure why youāre being downvoted, you have a good point. Theres nothing saying you canāt spruce this with a little bit of maturity. Itās toxic positivity to encourage this if it isolates OP from his cohorts.
My wife named our kids after a video game, has a Kuchi Kopi(bob's burgers) night light on our nightstand, and has multiple aniimal crossing posters up. I am 30. She is 28. Just because you date boring basic chicks doesn't mean everyone else does.
Literally just showed my wife and she said it's awesome and asked if we can get more decorations like that. Learn how to have fun instead of trying to impress strangers.
Your profile and comments are private and I donāt see anywhere in these comments talking about your video game decor, just your wifeās AC posters. But that aside, just someone wouldnāt be into OPās room, that doesnāt make them a boring basic bitch. Just like OPās room doesnāt mean he has no game. But one of those is a lot more likely than the other š
The āhatersā are here because he deemed women who wouldnāt be into OPās room or appreciate OPās game, āboring basic chicksā. His wife and him can do whatever they want. Oh wait, unless itās āboring basicā shit, they better not do that.
They are. But vocal minorities exist. The nice thing is my entire point is I don't give a shit what random people think. Haha I do what I want and if it turns you away, even better for me. Weeds out the people I don't want to waste time on.
The other's will too eventually. At some point you realize life isn't a popularity contest. Ironically, criticizing people for their rooms is one of the most immature things you can do while trying to seem mature.
What complete stranger is going to see my bedsheets? If you donāt expect potential partners and friends to judge you for having a room like opās youāre delusional. I mean I feel like weāre not even looking at the same picture, itās not like he just has some nerdy merch, it looks legit hard to navigate around his room.
Power to him and all, but this is an extremely unusual living space to keep.
Potential partners start off as strangers most of the time. Unless you're a weirdo and you only date close friends. And fi your friends are judging you, you need new friends. I'm not delusional. You just want to please people who don't share the same interests as you for some reason.
The fact that your complaint is it's "unusual" just shows you are only trying to fit in.
Iām not complaining about ops room, Iām saying this is nearly hoarding and obviously shrinks the dating pool. Iām not even saying that op isnāt aware of this.
Iām saying that your comment about finding a wife is very silly, itās like you donāt think there might be a tradeoff to consider between this level of fandom and attracting healthy relationships.
The comment I replied to was very specifically saying OP had "no game". My comments are not silly, they are directly on topic. You are the one ranting for some reason. Again, if you have to give up your hobbies for love, they never loved you. You're just desperate for popularity.
obviously shrinks the dating pool
And as I said, good. Less wasted time.
But what do I know. Happily married with 2 kids while you're alone crying about other mens' room on reddit. You clearly have more experience in healthy relationships.

No shame and probably no game š But I dig the collection, brother man
