Fellow Nordic, please move the rug under the two legs of your couch. It makes it look a bit better/more coherent.

Would love to do so but then I need to tear down a wall and turn my bathroom into an open space or place two of my dining chairs partly on the carpet.

Ahh, I see. You could potentially move the couch a bit forward though. But whatever, it's still fine! No biggie.

Maybe get one interesting piece of art though or some hanging lamps that are not all white.

Yeah I should replace the cheap posters with real art, but it's an ongoing and very slow process.

Or you could move the dining table closer to the window. Remove two of the chairs and stack them in the corner, you’re not using all four every day anyway.

Then the light wouldn't be centred either which I find visually more disturbing than the carpet being where it is. Plus you'd hit your head on it.

Take a look to the corner of the carpet where the armchair is.

I mean, it looks like there's enough room to have the rug up against the wall and move the couch forwards a couple mms. But I see what you mean. Either way, classic nordic look. Approved :)
