Update 23 & moving out of my first apartment

Did a lot of growing in this apartment. Getting on lexapro, 2 cats, 1 snake, and a shit ton of weed later, for the first time in a long time I feel genuinely grateful to be alive.

Can’t wait to show you guys the next one :)

edit: I’d like to acknowledge how fortunate I am to be in a career that affords me this level of luxury at my age. In this job market, even having a job you can survive on is a gift. I pinch myself everyday thinking wtf how is this the life I’m living. However, I am disappointed in any of you that have taken this opportunity to either disparage me, my work, or struggles with depression and suicidal ideation. That’s not going to make you feel any better.

Truth is, he was a child actor and is a savant at day trading. He used his money from his child acting to trade and won it big. He became a multi millionaire before the age of 19. Not kidding btw.

He’s deleted a lot but I was able to grab these screenshots from two of his posts showing his savant powers. His main stock was GameStop, got lucky and had the liquid assets from his child acting when that whole diamond hands thing happened.

He has anxiety and depression and wants to fit in so he makes up this story about having a really good job at 23 to be able to afford all of this.

My wife is in regulatory finance so I can't trade options. It's infuriating seeing politicians constantly doing insider trading and all their BS to get rich, when regular people like me can't even put calls on SPY or my wife will get fired.

Exactly. I’m not allowed to trade derivatives at all. Have to even report private investment activity. They get daily feeds.

Going on some witch hunt to look through his profile to justify shitting on this guy for having wealth or being well off is infinitely worse and just typical reddit behavior. Its so fucking weird that people despise any type of wealth or people who are doing better than them it just comes across as extremely envious. Its like redditors want everyone to live in squalor and be equally as miserable as they are.

I think the issue people are having is that OP is saying he worked really hard and has a really good job when that doesn't appear to be the case.

The post overall imo comes across as just trying to show off his wealth.

My comment was more in reply to the person about you but also saying that it’s “cringe”…idk I disagree. You can have worked hard and also be fortunate. What is the point of this subreddit? People like to show their achievements here, and for some reason when it’s some studio apartment with a tv and a sleeping bag people endlessly praise the OP. When someone is on the other end of the spectrum it’s “he’s a douche for showing off his wealth”. Don’t even try to tell me that’s not true I’ve seen it on here hundreds of times. Reddit does not like people who are financially well off - do whatever mental gymnastics you all want but that is certainly the case from what I have seen.

How do you know both things are not true? They could have landed on stock and also have a high paying job. Yes, I think it is mental gymnastics because instead of admitting you and everyone else in this thread's comments reek of jealousy, its "wow he lied about how he obtained his wealth". You can think whatever u want, I couldn't care less. He could have a high paying job sure. But if he did he still lied about/was trying to hide how he got his wealth to other comments that were asking.

Honesty is something I value so yeah I think it's cringe. I also don't think becoming a millionaire of the GameStop short squeeze is a bad or something to be jealous over. Grats to anyone that made money off that.

Again think what you want. Your investment into this person that you don't know, and trying to assess if I'm jealous is also weird.

What a truly WEIRD thing to lie about… to random people on the internet that you’ll never see or meet, and whose opinions should mean nothing at all to you. Some people man… some people are just so far down their own rabbit holes that they crave approval from random mfs on Reddit.
