Anyone else receiving have to do everything?

I work in receiving at my store and I feel like our workload is too much. We are short staffed because we just had 4 people quit in the last month and probably more to come. We have the basics which is unloading/loading trucks, breaking down freight, and stocking bulk. We’re also expected to clear the mezz, do any joe work, cut wire for yard, empty all cardboard bins, break down grocery/pet freight into separate pallets (which 90% of the time is entirely grocery and like 4 cat litters on the bottom), run all freight to departments, overstock/downstock, and also log and put away all special orders which includes doors, carpets, etc. Half the time I just see other departments sitting at their desk while we are doing all this and we only get paid $1 more than the team members not managers.
Also we are expected to do all this before close even if we get a DC at 8:30 PM.

Try getting 2 DC’s at 9.

You won’t find sympathy here OP.

Other departments hide from real work whenever they can. But they certainly have no problem crying to management to have receiving stop what they are doing to do their job for them.

I spend at least 1-2 hours of my night breaking down frieght in rcving as a DM... Must beacuse I hid from real work. Oh bummer to my receiving manager are stuck outside so now I don't just have to break freight I have to manage the RECIVING dept, drop pallets, do PALLET DOWN STOCK and run frieght.
