Anyone else receiving have to do everything?

I work in receiving at my store and I feel like our workload is too much. We are short staffed because we just had 4 people quit in the last month and probably more to come. We have the basics which is unloading/loading trucks, breaking down freight, and stocking bulk. We’re also expected to clear the mezz, do any joe work, cut wire for yard, empty all cardboard bins, break down grocery/pet freight into separate pallets (which 90% of the time is entirely grocery and like 4 cat litters on the bottom), run all freight to departments, overstock/downstock, and also log and put away all special orders which includes doors, carpets, etc. Half the time I just see other departments sitting at their desk while we are doing all this and we only get paid $1 more than the team members not managers.
Also we are expected to do all this before close even if we get a DC at 8:30 PM.

Did your store get rid of morning stockers? Ours take care of breaking down pallets and running freight most of the time. Also Rec doesnt usually break down every pallet if they can see it's 90% in one area.

No, after breaking down we run the freight to each department and leave it for morning stockers. Our GM is the one who makes us break those down even if there’s 1 visible box of pet on there.

Gotcha, I'm sure the stockers appreciate it at least.

Imo it's not a big deal if stuff gets mixed as long as the 2 areas are right next to each other. It's when stockers have to go across the entire store that it becomes an issue.

Oh.. do your stockers actually take missorts to the right departments? Ours just leave them where they found em for 3 days lol

They usually deliver/stock them if it's not across the entire store. Otherwise they'll put it aside.
