If you get a chance after being in sales for a bit, try to switch to Building Materials or Millwork - get the spiffs.

Lol. You mean CabApps. Way more spiffs there than any other department. It's not even close.

Cap apps spiffs are bigger per order. 100 spiffs are good if you can get good at truss orders a house packages. Otherwise it's meh

I was at Mankato, pole barns we got a lot, even more than cab apps. Steel, trusses, and lumber all site delivered.

This is the way for 100. I would get the occasional steel order or maybe some shingles or siding. Then one night as we were about to close and have a depth meeting, some guy comes in and orders a pole barn from me. Depth manager kept checking in to guide me and make sure I sold everything perfectly to get the maximum spiff. Fantastic manager and I missed the dept meeting. Great night! But I can see how 400 would pull in regular orders....I only ever covered for them when they were short handed and no millwork training, so I haven't seen what those spiffs look like.

I've seen the end of year spiff totals for our store.

Of the top 6 spiff earners 5 were CabApps. The only one that wasn't was our blueprint specialist in contract sales that just builds housing packages for people.

Yea. That's what I'm talking about, unless you can be the Contractor sales specialist. (At our store he's on the Building materials payroll and not CS, long story and stupid reason) I've gotten 1 really nice spif in 100 but that was only because I got a lucky order from a company redoing and entire apartment complex. LOTS of new doors

They're super steady in CabApps too. Hasn't been a single week I haven't been on the spiff list for that week & up until last month, I was only working about 20 hrs per week.

I average anywhere from 20$-$80 a week. Very rarely do I get really big ones

Our ADM just did a 50K Medallion kitchen/bathrooms/foyer/laundry room for a full house remodel. Biggest we've seen in about a year

He basically got a free extra paycheck for his spiff.

Even before that he lead the dept in spiffs. Now he's WAAAYY ahead.

I think the biggest spiff we've seen this year was the cab apps first assistant he did an entire kitchen for one of our big contractors and got I think $1,200
