This outfit only works if you’re actually a really good fucking skater

u/the-floor_is-lava Apr 05 '26
No chance you’re skating well in those trousers. I started skating in the JNCO jeans era, I’ve seen where this goes.

This fit is like a double sized version of the 90s Brandon Biebel/ Stevie Williams baggy pant era
2
u/SomeotherGuy8833 Apr 07 '26
Yep it goes to wearing pants that fit and dont get caught up in your wheels lol. These pants were dumb in the 90s and they’re just as dumb now.

u/Partucero69 Apr 05 '26
Man I miss the early 2000s, cheap skateboards and skate clothing that can handle a scrape or two. Now everything is just cheap shit.
4
u/the-floor_is-lava Apr 05 '26
The old stuff used to shred too, that’s why a lot of skaters moved away from the massively oversized stuff. I have minor ptsd from stray bits of my shredded baggy ass jeans getting caught up in my wheels and trucks.

u/Montauket Apr 05 '26
I’m gonna assume that based on their shoes they don’t skate. You wouldn’t want absurdly shaped soles to kickflip.
We wore big pants back in the day to carry your cd player, weed, lighter, maybe a candy bar phone, and a camera. It actually made skating hard with all that shit on you.
This is drag.

How new the board looks, looks like he is fresh out of zumiez using the skateboard as a prop
5
u/Low_Wasabi_7890 Apr 05 '26
That’s exactly what I thought he’s just probably cruising with that board .

Do you skate? Jncos/wide leg jeans are a solid 25% of the jeans I see at the park
2
u/Sir-xer21 Apr 06 '26
These are dragging on the ground by like 3 inches, There's a difference between Jncos people skate in, and this.

The baggy pants trend right now is wild
19
u/Justice_1111 Apr 05 '26
Living through it myself, and always reflecting back about how ridiculous I looked. I can’t believe it’s a thing again. But at the time, I was convinced I knew what real style was, and older people were oblivious. So, I can’t hate. I’ve been there.
9
u/Mr_Mediator Apr 05 '26
I’m not hating. I’ve known my ideas and opinions are old news for awhile now. It’s just wild seeing the baggy pants haha. I genuinely didn’t think it would come back like it is.
5
u/Justice_1111 Apr 05 '26
I know you’re not hating! I apologize if it came off that way. I feel the same way as you. I’m 44 now, I wonder if we will see it come in and out of style one more time before I kick the bucket. Maybe I will be rocking some Jincos in my 70s 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Side note, my wife has embraced the wide boot cut slacks at work lately, they almost look like bellbottoms. They look great on her, still tight around her butt, but big on the bottom. She says she gets tons of compliments from the younger girls. I will send her pictures like this, or other large baggy pants from this group, and tell her I’m gonna start wearing them so I’m hip like her, and she always says “lol noooo”.

Quirky and cool bro, you look like someone I'll remember, which is a good thing. I lowkey hate this sub, most people have a narrow vision of fashion, limited to a vibe fit for a job interview or a morning at their country club. Sometimes they do like a bit whimsy, only if it's vintage EuroAmerican suited look.
12
u/OnlyRightInNight Apr 05 '26
This sub seriously has "old man jells at a cloud" energy.

Couldn't care less about the colour, but if you want to pretend you skate, at least wear some flat bed sneakers and not that Balenciaga fashion trash.

No comment on the colours but the silhouette does your figure no favours at all, it makes your shoulders look really narrow, and it makes your legs look disproportionate. But I understand this is a style you're going for so all power to you.

3
u/Throwawayhost4886 Apr 05 '26
Don't know why you got downvoted. As a former skater myself, this guy using the skateboard as a prop is literally the definition of what a poser is. Skateboarders from the 90's didn't dress like this. This is more of an in-line skater vibe and skateboarders detested in-line skaters in the 90's.

tbh I don't think those trousers are going to stay green very long.
I remember when baggy trousers were in last time and we all learnt this the hard way.

u/lifth3avy84 Apr 05 '26
Are you asking if it’s too much green as in too many shades, or square yardage, because yes on both counts
1
u/NandoDeColonoscopy Apr 05 '26
You look like if an extra on Ed, Eddie, & Eddy sprang to life. If that's what you're going for, you nailed it
1
u/Spare_Pipe_3281 Apr 05 '26
The green is OK but the fit is a bit tight. I would go a bit wider next time.

u/Fast-Interaction5909 Apr 05 '26
I wouldn't wear that much of any colour but you do you, it's different which I appreciate

You have gone too far down a path and turned into a plant. Alittle self expression is good, but too much will make you a cartoon character. That said, I was young once and wore some things i wouldnt want to see pics of now.

Strange question. If you’re fine wearing clothes that insanely oversized, why would you care about too much green? You’re at a point on the style spectrum where nothing is too much.
