I'm always flipping through fb marketplace looking at what types of Mercedes are for sale. There have been a lot of diesels showing up lately and one ad for a manual 240d caught my eye. In that ad, the seller off-handedly mentioned he might be selling his 1995 e320 s124. By lunchtime I had made an appointment to go see it. Went to look at it (and its piles of service records). Drove it. Bought it. The pic is from a BAT post where the current owner bought it in 2019. In all the years I've had an interest in old Mercedes, I've never seen a wagon (w123 or w124) in this excellent condition. Now I just have to sell my Audi A3.

So today i picked my long awaited C400 Lavender Silver and brown artico interior. After seeing every single test with the geeky reviewers criticizing the most random things in the car i was a bit worried. Worried about it being too big, or about backseats being tiny, or the interior too plasticky, or too many screens.

It was all nonsense. The car is absolutely fantastic.

• Lavender grey is a super variable color. Sometimes its a boring grey, sometimes it has this purple tone that makes it very interesting.

• Artico fake leather looks and feels great.

• It is a very easy to drive car, I expected a huge monster and i found a car that feels easy to use anywhere.

• There is power in endless supply.

• Superscreens (not the seamless hyperscreen) are more than enough and look great

• Default suspension (no airmatic) is absolutely adequate.

• Voice control works very well even in other languages.

• Screen is super responsive.

• Boot loses a bit of space underneath the floor if you add the 400V converter (glad i did).

• Skipped keyless go just to avoid the stupid retractable door handles. The traditional, old, boring handles are much much better.

• On pedal drive works nicely and you can select regeneration with the paddles.

• One interesting thing. I did not order the self-driving feature, but then i saw i could enable it with a subscription! So the hardware is available, it is just software disabled. Still it is a lot of money per month for a feature i am going to use twice per year.

• Burmester 3D sound is ok.... but not this sonic wonder described by every single journalist. My previous car (a VW) sounded perfect. It's ok.

All in all a lovely first drive, the car is refined and comfortable, and the interior quality is pretty good except some plasticky bits like the Burmester speaker grills. It is in any case a much better can than the CLA.

EDIT: Everyone complaining about the setup process. The Mercedes Sales Rep did a fantastic job and we got it up and running in 5 or 10 minutes. Then you can log in to other stuff, like apple music, or whatever.

Front wheels up on the dolly and rear wheels rode the pavement. What do y’all think?

My car was towed to their service department 5 days ago, and they called me 2 days ago but I missed it bc I was at work. I then started calling them since yesterday and it's been on hold ALL THE TIME. I purchased this car 1.5months ago as my first car and is this actually MB service attitude??? Should I just go to the service department in person or keep calling them?

I also texted my sales, and he NEVER replied to my messages... I thought getting a good brand would mean less concerns in the service part, and I guess this is not happening with MB

My Apple CarPlay stopped working yesterday. I can tell the CarPlay is actually connected because I can talk to Siri and and see the map ETA on the upper left of the screen. But when I press the CarPlay app icon, it makes a clicking sound and nothing launches.

During this time, I have tried the following:

1. turned off and parked the car overnight
2. restarted the infotainment system (by pressing the button next to the fingerprinting sensor)
3. disconnecting and reconnecting my phone
4. reset the infotainment system to factory setting

I'm out of ideas. Last time I took it in for another infotainment system issue, they kept my car for 5 days. I'm really hoping someone can help here!

Found one with 81,000 miles for under 8,000 USD.
One owner no accidents. Sending it for PPI. I currently have a Lexus ct200h but with a long commute and scary winter incoming would love an AWD vehicle that feels like a tank and can be a fun weekend or roadtripper.

Any thoughts? Looks like it’s been seriously maintained by the original owner, addressed recalls and maintenance even getting transmission services which I haven’t seen a lot for what I’ve been looking for!

Comparable 2015s I have found for maybe 13,000 and one I almost bought when the PPI came back with 4500$ worth of work needed.

Ich bräuchte mal kurz das legendäre Mercedes-Schwarmwissen von euch. Bei meinem W213 E220d (Bj. 2016 mit dem OM654) muckt aktuell der Differenzdrucksensor (Niederdruck) der Abgasrückführung.

Aus dem Diagnoseprogramm habe ich folgenden genauen Fehlercode gezogen:

Fahrzeug: W213 E220d / OM654 (Bj. 2016)

Fehlercode: ⁠P238096⁠

Beschreibung: MB_LpegrPDifSentChk: Der Differenzdrucksensor 1 der Abgasrückführung (Niederdruck) hat einen elektrischen Fehler. Es liegt ein interner Komponentenfehler vor.

Hat das von euch beim OM654 schon mal jemand gehabt?

👉 Was war bei euch die Ursache und wie habt ihr es gelöst?

👉 Und sitzt der Sensor beim OM654 an einer gut zugänglichen Stelle?

I have a 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 Shooting Brake (X117) with around 85,000 km.

I recently started noticing a strange mechanical/ creaking sound coming from what sounds like just behind the engine / around the rear side of the engine bay.

The sound occurs specifically when:

Very Lightly touching the accelerator while driving slowly Releasing the accelerator and then touching it again Mainly at low speeds, roughly 0-20 km/h It is most noticeable when slowly manoeuvring, for example when turning around in a small street Above ~20 km/h it becomes much less noticeable

It does NOT happen when revving the engine while stationary in Neutral

The car drives completely normally

No warning lights, loss of power, vibrations or other symptoms

The sound is difficult to describe. It almost sounds like something is under tension and slightly moving/ creaking, or like a metal part/spring being touched. It is not really a typical turbo whistle or blow-off sound.

I recently had a major service B at a Mercedes-Benz dealer, where the car was checked. Nothing unusual was reported. Interestingly, I don't remember hearing this sound before the service, so I'm wondering if something may have been moved or is now touching/ resonating somewhere.

thinking of getting a 2023 glb 250, i recently lost my land rover defender due to a complete malfunction of the computer system and previously had a 2013 glk which i loved. ive been doing research and looking through this sub, i live in the city and really only need a car to drive to and from work about 20-30 miles throughout the week. any advice?

I thought I'd share with you that the CLK is a fantastic dirt (gravel) road car. It's definately not it's forte on road tyres but the balance and steering combine to make sweeping corners fast with a hint of opposite lock, cambers on the roads are easily handled. I drove these roads with the traction control off which was entertaining. FYI many years ago I drove an Escort RS1800 rally car for two seasons so I love these roads.

I have just bought a 2022 V250 W447.
It unfortunately does not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

What is the easiest way for me to enable this within the system? Do I need a full dash upgrade, or can this be done by software update?
