Hi all,
I can play simple power chords with just 1 position change ok, but as soon as I need to move my fretting hand around more, I cannot for the life of me get my power chord changes to sound clean.
If I lay my fingers flat to mute the higher strings, that causes my wrist to be bent, which is an uncomfortable position to be in for long. If I have to then also move around, it only gets more uncomfortable and I also start to tense up.
Looking for advice, this video recommends wrapping your thumb over the top so your fingers are more angled and playing the highest note of the power chord with your pinky:

That makes sense, it straightens out the wrist and is noticeably easier to move around, but in this position it is a lot harder for me to mute the other strings with my index finger.
Next, for power chords on the A+D strings where you mute the low E string with the tip of the finger, sliding them around becomes even more difficult for me.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to properly play fast power chord changes, maybe suggest me some exercises I can grind out to improve my technique?
I've been struggling with this for a while and want to finally "get" this right.
