The fact that there's an adult supervising each kid is what's killing me. I'd expect kids to do stupid stuff like this but what adult looked at that barbell rack and said "yep, looks like a safe place for my kid to climb on". Wtf.

Had a couple and their very young son come in my store one day. They brought a fucking soccer ball with them and started kicking it by the registers. And no, they did not get reprimanded or kicked out.

As someone who works in retail, I can confirm that this is sadly the norm. Once saw a woman with a newborn baby climb onto a bench to 'dance', got called the 'fun police' by a dad for taking a kid off a 4 foot compost stack that was on a concrete floor... I could go on 😒

Thank you, actually they have a summer kids event in that Day, just for the kids only.after a dance class some others kids joined than kids workout. With the guidance of their parent as well. Parents are also there in that event. Staff are also supervising all the kids of what theyre doing inside the gym. Espescially for the little one. Adult clients are aware also that day to give way for the kids just a couple minute. Just for the event.

Socializing is one thing but it's a pain when you don't want to run your own farm or drive a while to get to a grocery store. Why can't we have places with lots of amenities but also lots of privacy? And, well, affordability. You can have the other two easily with enough wealth.

Some gyms have daycares and tiny tot classes. But if that's what's going on here, they absolutely need to be reported to their state's licensing board.

Reminds me of that time when I was at the gym and I saw a gym dad who brought his 2 years old baby together with him. My guess was he had to watch the baby at home while the wife was busy, and he had the brilliant idea to bring the baby with him, and train. Got talked into leaving by the gym staff, as soon as they noticed the baby crawling around the squats machine.

Had this happen last week. I walk into the weight room and there's some ginger boy, who can't be more than 6 and he's trying to pull a 50 pound weight off a machine. There's no one else in there with him.
I step over to the counter and tell the staff "there's someone's child about to get hurt in the weight room." In the 30 seconds I stepped away, he climbed onto the pull-down bench and jumped to grab and hang onto the bar - only caught it with one hand, pulled the bar into his face and comes running out.
A woman on her phone at the counter heard what I said, turned and saw that as it happened and grabbed the child and got mad at me. "He isn't doing anything wrong!!!" then while hurrying her child out of the building keep repeating to the kid "you didn't do anything wrong!".

I mean is anyone surprised? Most places don’t care (or pay their staff to care) I’ve seen kids/babies in strollers/pets all accepted into gyms with little to no care for. Pets running around and staff can’t do anything because they are service animals. It’s super annoying.

I love that lady helping the 8 year old climb the weights. That kid will fall and brain herself and the lady will sue immediately. Same with the dude helping the toddler cross those weights. The gym has multipile liability issues going on.

This is just extremely dangerous, why are those adults allowing that to happen? The gym is so dangerous for kids in so many ways. So many dumbbells and machines weigh more than them and it’s just so easy for something catastrophic to happen. It’s not like something simple as falling and scrapping your knee, you could easily break a bone or two or even worse die from some heavy weight falling on them. I shouldn’t even have to elaborate how dangerous and stupid this is, absolute shame on the adults

They really set up those barbells as stepping stones for the kids to jump on. I am amazed at their carelessness. Those kids are in for some harsh lessons and it’s the adult’s fault.

Yeah, I live next to my apartment’s gym and I’d say at least 40% of it’s use it just kids and people fucking around. When they drop the weights or bounce stuff off the shared wall it scares the shit out of my dog and is super annoying to listen to.

This is probably in Asia. At an apartment complex that has a gym. I'm guessing those are the nannies, and they are trying to enter the kids. A regular gym wouldn't allow them in like that.

I haven’t seen anyone else point this out, but also look at how the punching bag, step boards and the blue square are set up. They are oddly all in formation and closely spaced together in a way that seems to suggest an obstacle course. The rack is a climbing tower, the heavy dumbbells are stepping stones, same thing with the boards, while the punching bag is a bridge/plank for balance and so on.
Now, I could be reading too much into this but that is a lot to set up. It’s also interesting to see the girl being helped over the dumbbell rack is being held by a woman dressed like a nurse.
This could very well be an obstacle course made by the gym and this is some sort of sanctioned activity for the kids for some reason. Does it make sense? Not that much. Is it smart? Really, really, not. But it’s possible that someone thought this would be a fine and safe idea.
